I know first hand the power of prayer... I also know every day/week everyone has a problem... well now I have one and I could use all your guys prayers and thoughts...

If you remember a number of months ago I posted about finding out I had diabetes (type1) and the past few months had been horrible as I was fearful of pancreatic cancer up until that point. Well since then I've had my good times and bad... mainly bad. Things just were not getting better. I had stopped losing weight but my bathroom visits were still dreadful. I finally made another appointment at my new doctor today; who seems very intelligent. Unlike the past doctors I had the pleasure of dealing with. First it was a strained muscle, then the flu, then diabetes type 2, then diabetes type 1, then irritable bowel. Its been a year from hell.

My new doctor seems legitametly concerned still that I might have a bigger problem. He ordered a MRCP, which looks at your biliary tract, pancreas, gallbladder, etc. I am extemely stessed out and am hoping that its just something semi-minor. Pretty bad when you hoping at the age of 26 for a bad gallbladder, stones, pancreatitis, etc.

Anyways please put in a good word for my family and I if you get a chance. We could definetly use it.

I am with ya bro....I too suffer the effects of diabetes and know how hard it is to keep the sugar under control.

I can't really tell you what to do because half the time mine is all screwed up and I feel the effects.

Hey Barf, My family and I will pray for you during this difficult time in your life..I would like to share with you a "daily devotional" that I recieve from Joel Osteen... I hope this lifts your spirits some. If This is offensive to anyone or in the wrong "forum" than I apologize, but when I see a friend in distress, I will do what I can for them through prayer and spiritual uplifting as much as possible...

Trusting God in the Tough Times

Today's Scripture

“Trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success” Proverbs 3:5-6 (TLB).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

We all face tough times that challenge everything we believe. And we often have the hardest time seeing God's hand when we're in difficult situations - because we just don't understand what He is doing. But the exhilarating thing is that God uses tough times to show us His favor and blessing. It may not feel comfortable at first, but seek God's face all the more when you're struggling. When you ask Him, He will give you everything you could possibly ever need to make it through the trying times. And He will give you special eyes to see Him through all of your hardships. Your human understanding will fall short, so just give God full control and watch the blessings flow.

A Prayer for Today

God, give me the eyes to see Your face in the midst of my troubles. Thank You for never leaving me and for giving me what I need to persevere through my roughest days. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

WOW..

Sorry to hear this man, get well soon.

Sometimes you wonder what the hell he's thinking up there, but, remember, he's got a good reason for everything he does.

Thanks again to everyone... I go next Wednesday for the procedure, so I will find out then.

Mike thanks for that it does help... I am trying to let things be and let him work; as the writing says it is really tough during these times. But I do believe god has a reasoning behind everything he does. Right now he's just trying to show me something and I need to listen.

Prayers are on the way bro. I know all about those dreadful bathroom visits. Those are what the poor saps who walk into the restroom get when they walk in there after me

Man this board is having a bad couple months here... at least it seems that way to me. I might just be sensative to that right now though due to my troubled times as well. Seems like everyday someone has something bad happen in their life.

Hey god... if your listening how bout a World Series, Super Bowl, and a somewhat healthy life for all of us. You don't realize how important something like your body is until something like this happens to you.

I can splash a little good news in this thread... my wife is pregnant for the second time we found out last week. We'd been trying for a couple months. I'm hoping all will clear up here and we can move on. Hopefully the added stress of what I am going through does not effect the baby. I try and keep a smile on my face when at home, but, she knows I am stressed. Thanks again to everyone...

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers... they worked! I have good news to report on my end. The test came back negative... no abnormalities. So I can now breathe... still not sure whats causing my issues though. Might just be Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA) that we now know I have. I go in Thursday to talk with him again to see the next steps. But this is definetly good news. Think I might have to hang up the shot and beer glasses for awhile though till we find out whats going on. I might actually remember a Browns game this year.

On the bad news front though my father in law just had a minor heart attack and had to have a stent put in. Just what we need... some more stress on my poor pregnant wife. We need a vacation. Oh well gotta take the highs with the lows. At least it was minor enough that he is still with us today.

Good to hear the test came back fine.

Your father-in-law will be just fine as long as he LISTENS to the doctors. He will have to change a few things to stay healthy but tell him that he shouldn't let that get him down.

Good luck Barf. Will keep the positive thougths and prayers coming your way.
