Hitting for the cycle is hard to do. Since 1876 the feat of hitting a single, a double, a triple, and a home run in the same game has been achieved a total of 322 times by 287 players. Only 5 times has it been achieved by the same player in the same year, and yesterday Christian Yelich became the first player to hit 2 cycles in the same year against the same team.

John Reilly - 9/12 & 9/19/1883
Tip O'Neill - 4/30 & 5/7/1887
Babe Herman - 5/18 & 7/24/1931
Aaron Hill - 6/18 & 6/29/2012
Christian Yelich - 8/30 & 9/17/2018

wow, hadn't seen this ... he's been really good this year

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Interesting fact: the San Diego Padres went more than 7000 games before a Padre hit for the cycle (Matt Kemp, 2015).

Another one: no Padres pitcher has even thrown a no-hitter.
