I was kind of hoping to get Jordan Hicks in here...But Collins is still out there. And I don't think the Browns wanted Collins to leave as much as they did not want to pay that much to have him stay.
So he has been out there. The chatter concerning him has been relatively quiet. I have not heard much in the way of him speaking with other teams or getting offers.
Resigning him would basically accomplish what we wanted which was reducing his number.
I don't necessarily see any bad blood here. And perhaps a smaller contract and Wilks' propensity to Blitz might give us a hungrier version of Collins...
Just a thought...
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

No He was inconsistent in effort, that doesn't help the team.

I figured he'd go unsigned for a while. If Williams were here I'd say for sure, but I doubt w will give him another look
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I don't want him back. He took himself out of plays way too often, and his effort was ..... inconsistent .... to be kind.

If he's willing to play for free/the 2.5 million we're paying him to not play for us at the moment, sure. Anything more than the vet minimum and contingent upon the understanding if he loafs he's gone, no thanks.

PETE...what up, did you bump your head.
No way in heck Dorsey cuts a guy and then resigns him. I hear ya but we have parted ways with Collins. We are looking for depth. Avery is our SAM, Kirksey our Will and Schobert our Mike!
We definitely need some depth I mean I think we only got 3 more on our roster and we need some more for competition on special teams. We did cut the kid we brought up from ST last season. I'm sure we will do a lot of research and pick up some guys that are going to be young and cut. We also might raid some Practice Squads!
jmho but I don't we will ever go back to Collins
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

No. He's lazy and takes too many bad angles. I don't think his type of personality is good for the locker room, especially w/such a young team.

Collins and Peppers were, IMHO, GW's type of players.
Clearly there is a different D mentality, which IMHO, is good, since I was never a fan of both players.

I'd say no.
Nothing ticks me off more than a guy that could play well if he wanted to and just doesn't want to sometimes.

No thanks. Moving on from low effort guys like Collins.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I don't want him back. He took himself out of plays way too often, and his effort was ..... inconsistent .... to be kind. Yep. And now we know why Belichick didn't want him anymore either.

No thanks. Moving on from low effort guys like Collins. I agree. I was a huge effort guy and players like Collins irritate the hell out of me.

In my opinion, every single Browns fan who saw him play would be opposed to re-signing Collins.
