It’s strange to see these long-time MLB players who started their careers during my adulthood retire.

Ichiro is now 45 years-old.

Ichiro was on of the best to ever play the game.

A fitting way to end his career.

“To tell the truth, I’m not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to,” Ichiro said. “If I ever saw myself saying I’m excited going to Cleveland, I’d punch myself in the face, because I’m lying.”

Ichoro is one of the greatest hitters ever. I am not up to date on the current players, but the best pure hitters I have ever saw are:

Rod Carew
Tony Gwynn
Ichiro
Wade Boggs
Ted Williams

Those are not in order.

Tony Gwynn could swing a bat. I remember him and Jon Olerud in a battle, deep into the season, to hit .400.

I always liked Vlad Guerrero. You couldn't waste a pitch on that guy; he'd rip a ball at his ankles.

I really miss watching guys working with the pitch and hitting opposite field. I swear .270 is the new .300.

Vlad swinging that weapon with his bare hands - no batting gloves. He was a bad man.

Looks good to me. I saw all of them live except for Gwynn.
