As a child i was taught that if i had nothing nice to say, not to say anything at all.
I will apply this here. I will say nothing, because i have absolutely nothing nice to say about this man.

Why all the hate for this guy? Because he's one of those guys who's thrown his money around to shape American Politics to what he prefers. Often times for things that are clearly good for him. He (along with his brother) essentially bribes politicians. He's one of the faces of all that is wrong with the state of our country's political system EDIT: That and his shady business practices of course

And, you feel the same way about soros as well? Oh, i'm no fan of that guy neither. I'm no fan of people throwing their money around in politics. Admitadly i don't know too much about Soros. Just that he throws his money behind Democratic Candidates. He's one of the boogeymen for the Republican Party. But yes, guys like Soros and the Koch Brothers are what's wrong with Politics. People throwing around their wealth to influence power. It's bs. It turns this country into an elite oligarchy. That's not how it should be. Everyone's vote counts the same. Everyone's influence should be the same too. I just want the people to be represented, and the people to get what they want. It's why i was furious at the Republican Commitee Folks for trying to figure out a way to give the nomination to Lying Ted. It's why i was furious at the DNC for screwing Bernie.

You know what I'll never understand. Why so many average Americans think a guy like Koch are the right people to follow.
All the Koch brothers ever did was fund anything that would help them with their businesses.. They could care less about America. But if rule, law or movement would impact their business, then it was bad and drop millions trying to defeat it.
Talk about self serving.....

I don't think what Maher said really needed to be said, not that many of us don't agree with the sentiment. But I try not to speak ill of the dead at least until there is a cooling off period.

Talk about self serving..... That and donated over 1 billion dollars to charity. The Koch brothers did indeed give money, lots of it, to charity. And that's wonderful. But it doesn't change the fact that they are self serving with things they back. I doubt they gave Billions to charity by the way,., Millions, sure, but Billions, I doubt it.

Read the quote you replied to. Pdawg said "they donated over A billion...." NOT, billionS, as you state. What tends to go unmentioned: the owners of Koch Industries, one of the world's biggest conglomerates, have kicked in an estimated $1.5 billion or so to an array of causes and institutions most liberals love: public television, medical research, higher education, environmental stewardship, criminal justice reform and the arts. I don't know what you think of USNews, but here: https://www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2015/06/26/the-koch-brothers-gifts-to-society That was written June 26, 2015. It would appear that what Pdawg posted is correct.

I see this quickly devolved into which side has less class.. which is pretty typical anytime somebody who is politically polarizing dies...
Can't say I know a lot about David Koch other than his name comes up a lot by the left as the devil incarnate and usually either immediately follows, or is followed by, the name Soros.... seems he advocated for some stuff I agree with, some I don't.... gave a crap ton of money to charity.... and is accused by the left of a lot of things he denies..
Hope he is at peace with the life he lived...

I didn't comment on his passing. I wasn't a fan of his in any way, shape or form.
But I take no joy when anyone passes. Even if you don't care for them as a person, so many are impacted when someone dies.
I did however find it ironic how someone pointed out classless comments by a comedian when the leader of your nation says nasty, classless things and that same individual sits silently by when they do the exact same thing.
