Did any of you hear the announcers during the game mention a noose hanging from a tree was found on one of the campuses somewhere? Just caught the tail end of the report by one of the players.

I didn't hear the whole story... sounds like someone on campus was killed or committed suicide... not sure
Good game so far though...

The FBI is there,...investigating this as a hate crime. Somebody hung a noose off a tree outside the Black Studies Building ??? I might suppose some kind of a sick joke in reference to the West Virginia torture incident ??

Somebody at Maryland hung a noose outside the Black Cultural Facility... While there is a 99% chance it's a prank... it's not funny and poses a real threat to the black students. Whoever did it should be caught and made to stand on a picnic table in front the black cultural facility, with the noose around his neck all afternoon for a week.... In addition to whatever criminal penalties he receives...
Now, back to the game... I sent a PM to a couple folks and this is what it said...
The game against WVU went about as I predicted... I did have a sick little laugh to myself at the beginning of the game when Maryland fumbled the very first snap and 2 plays later WVU scored a TD... I couldn't help but think.. "Oh my God, it's me, I'm the problem." ... I mean how many Terps/Browns fans can there be in the world? 
The the rest of the game was frustrating as hell.... Maryland would stuff them and stuff them and stuff them and then bam, WVU would break off a 45 yard run, then they would stuff them and stuff them and stuff them and bam, a 20 yard TD run... I swear, I don't have the stats to back it up but it seemed like WVU had a bunch of 12 play TD drives but only had positive yardage on about 3 or 4 of the plays....
Scary thing about WVU is that they have a freshman who might be faster than Slaton... kid had like 5 carries for 130 yards or something insane like that.
As far as WVU being in the national championship picture... they could be because of the conference they are in... but I don't think they are THAT good... Maryland was able to stomp the ball down their throat unfortunately too many penalties and mistakes kept killing drives and once WVU got up, Maryland had to open it up and that only made it worse.. (Is any of this sounding familiar?  )
I haven't seen many of the top teams this year, but I did see LSU take out VT... and LSU would destroy WVU... LSU has so much team speed on defense that they could keep up with WVU and WVU doesn't have the defense to stop LSU... JMHO.

And Michigan will kill Appalachian State in Michigan, right?

Actually if you could pull that thread from the archives, I'm pretty sure I said something prior to the game about Michigan needing to be careful and App State being better than a lot of people give them credit for.. I certainly didn't think App State would win.. but I knew if Michigan took them for granted that App State could give them a run for their money.
And yes, 9 times out of 10 I think LSU would whip WVU based on what I've seen so far.

DC I do agree with the 9 out of 10 game situation. In a one game situation with nat'l championship on the line I'd be willing to play the dog without points but take some long odds.
