Just putting this out there for discussion.
My own thoughts have been that their defense is phenomenal and with #7 back the offense will take care of itself.
However, their resume this season may be worse than ours; wins against the 0-4 Giants by 10, the 1-3 Broncos by 5 and the 0-4 Texans by 7. Those three teams rank 29, 31 and 32 in the league in rushing.
I suppose the "little brother syndrome" in me is hoping that perhaps they just haven't been challenged yet...

I don't give a tidy bowl flush about the steelers. Go drop off the face of the earth. Is my message to their whole franchise!

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I think they are very exploitable, and #7 being back doesn't change that. He'll still make his plays here and there, but just as we've seen the past few seasons, he isn't going to magically carry them. He's going to keep taking hits in the pocket and keep taking sacks.

If we can beat Indy and Pittsburgh (I think we can) we become legitimate contenders for the AFC North Title with both Baltimore and Pittsburgh coming to our house

jc I think Myles has some payback on his mind as well. He did lose a tonne of money due to them. My sister is a Stoolers fan. I think it's because my dad dropped her on her head when she was a child. That doesn't explain why my wife is one as well though.

This topic should be in the smack shack where it belongs. I don't care for discussing other teams on the Browns message board and will attempt to respond not to this thread but the others.

No.
Pig Pen's arm is shot.
And skill players are pretty mediocre.

I agree with you that they haven't really been tested. But when comparing both of our schedules, other than the Ratbirds, neither have we. And even though some will use the "excuse card", that was our first game with an entire new coaching staff and no preseason.
So I think how this match up will go is anyone's guess. They do have the advantage of continuity in regards to their coaching staff and system. But we look like an entirely different team on the field.
I feel much the same way about Indy not have been tested with their schedule thus far this season.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Until we have a season where we can at least play them tough both games (not get whooped at any point), they will continue to be the bully.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I think they have a very good defense and they have Big Ben back. They're a legit playoff contender unless Ben gets hurt again.
I don't think Tomlin gets enough credit. He somehow guided the Steelers to an 8 and 8 record w/no qb and some key injuries elsewhere.

JMHO, badmouth the Steelers if you wish, bottomline-since 2000- one losing season, 4 .500 seasons, and 15 winning seasons....ugh, how do we compare.....don't even want to look. The Steelers are among the elite organizations in NFL, if we beat them, it's very definitely news, Go Browns!!!!
They haven't beat anyone this year, but we've been smacked once and won three tight games.....hope we beat them. Love our current coach and system.

Pittsburgh likes playing the Bully but this team will punch them right in their black and yellow mouths This is one of the things I like about this year's team. They are physical. I love watching Landry, Hodge (before he got hurt) and even Odell blocking downfield on runs. Bryant has been a great addition to the style that Stefanski is brought everyone together on. I live in SE Ohio and so am surrounded by Stillers fans who are oddly enough Ohio State fans too... still scratch my head about that.

This isn't the same old Browns guys time to move on.
When we play Pittsburg they best have their game face on and they know it and so do we. I like our chances.

They are who they are. They are a stable franchise with a coach who gets the most out of his players, like we saw last year.
They are not a team who beats themselves. I feel like that was always a struggle when we played against them or the Ravens. It felt like they were just playing solid, opportunistic football and allowing us to beat ourselves at the same time. It's like Stefanski said, you have to learn to stop losing before you learn how to start winning. We couldn't stop losing in those games.
Roethlisberger isn't who he was, but he's still very good and is playing with possibly his best defense since Cowher was there. You have to get to him and make your presence known if you want to win. I will say one thing since I'm only a year younger than him and I knew what he was like at Miami, which is exacerbated by his off-the-field incidents. He's a guy who I wouldn't mind seeing end up on IR. Probably the only player in the NFL I feel like that about. I hope we give him plenty of rough, but legal shots when we play them.

Until we - you know - beat them and beat them consistently ... yes.
This year they have a good D. Their offense with Ben at the helm is more than capable.
Hope like heck we can smack them in the mouth - run the football down their throat and then kill them with a deep pass or two for points.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

If Ben returns to form and they can get one skill guy other than Juju to step up, they’ll be even tougher to beat After seeing Chase Claypool put up four td's against Phillie, I'd say they've found that one other skill guy. But hey, it was Phillie.

The Steelers have to be respected, I would say that about all divisional opponents. I have watched them enough this year to think their defense is a little overrated and their offense a little underrated. Their corners are vulnerable, if their pass rush doesn’t get their quick, they will be beat and beat well. Hilton in the slot just got torched by Philly,s Fulghram for like 10 catches. They had to move J Haden on him and he got beat for a TD. Chase Claypool and Eric Ebron give Ben large athletic targets he hasn’t seen in a long time, we best be ready to cover them. I think this will be a really good game and I think if we are able to run the ball, we have a good chance to win. Don’t overlook our special teams, if we don’t execute well on the road it could kill us. I haven’t been impressed with our coverage teams on punts or kick offs, we can’t give up 6 or have the field flipped based off poor angles and crappy arm tackles.

Ok let's talk some steeler smack.
Except all that went before makes no difference to what happens next.
I have only seen part of the Steeler's last game.
You look at their record and they beat bad teams.
Look at our record and draw your own conclusions.
This is a division game. And it means a lot for both teams. In fact it could mean who wins the division. Division record at the end will count big time.
This game could go either way. Sounds simplistic but who makes the mistakes will be the loser.
If we play our game we will win this game. We have more playmakers who can impact the game.
The Steelers are well coached and usually do not beat themselves.
We will find out how good they are Sunday.

Longer view and adding oversimplification: They are solid, and they have beaten everyone they have been supposed to beat. We are better, depth and talent in more slots, and we have beaten some teams we were not supposed to best if one listens to the "experts" tossing mud our way. We have found wins while finding our way and while finding how good we might be. We should be in this game.
