For a team that routinely gets hosed by big-market teams in the MLB, they sure don't seem bothered to step on the little guy here.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I hope the Roller Derby team wins too. "Guardians is a stupid name for an MLB franchise.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

The Guardians (baseball team) Trademarked their name first and had it fast-tracked.
Unless the Guardians (roller derby) have proof they had the (tm) in place and were using it... they lose. (they didn't have it in place)
this seems like a pr stunt more than anything.

If he is correct that's simply the law no matter whether you like it or not. And if this is true it's actually the roller derby team trying to get publicity for a team many never even knew existed before this. So.... Go root for your roller derby team that's filing a frivolous lawsuit to gain publicity!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I hope the Roller Derby team wins the lawsuit...LOL! The Roller Derby team will win in the sense that a billion dollar organization has enough to make them go away and settle out of court. If not, they'll get bled dry in legal fees. Good for them (Derby team) for pushing it further to make some money.

Superbowldawg... any insight on how to apply for a trademark? I started a new business last year with my brother in law and would like to look into trademarking a few things but don't even know where to start.

My best advice is do some preliminary searches here https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/searchIf there is nothing... throw the (tm) after phrase you want to trademark Take a screenshot with the trademark in use (be sure it includes the date in the screenshot) After that, I email our trademark attorney and they do the rest lol

My business has a couple trademarks. I think I used legalzoom.com to obtain them.
