Sorry to hear of his passing. Craig lived outside of Atlanta. His son and my son competed against each other in baseball tournaments. I had the chance to talk with him a couple times. He seemed like a super nice guy. Like any dad he was into his son's playing baseball. I would always ask him if had any scoop on the Browns.

He was a fixture in NFL reporting circles. Had an incredible career.

Cancer has taken its toll on many friends and family of mine.

RIP Craig.

Sad to hear of his passing. He was always one of my favorite ESPN reporters.

You know him, is that his real first name? I thought it was Chris Mortensen.

Definitely one of the greats.

Don't feel bad. I saw the thread, knew Chris was sick, but suddenly thought QB Craig Morton had passed.

Chris was the best IMO. His reports were mostly news based and not just some keyboard jockey pumping out reports with flimsy evidence.

I definitely enjoyed his work. Not a lot of loud BS, just straight up reporting in a humble tone.

RIP Chris - a really good guy and reporter

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
