It amazes me that the prosecution didn't point out that when leather gets wet it shrinks. By all accounts those gloves were blood soaked. That would have caused them to shrink.

Wouldnt matter. Members of the jury later said they acquitted him because he is/was black. There was a lot of racial strife at the time and 8 of the jurors were black.

Yep. I’ve read a lot of stuff about the trial. The physical evidence was overwhelming, as was the circumstantial evidence, but they didn’t want to find him guilty.
Plain and simple.

Yep, that jury was ready to pounce and run with any hint of doubt, and it came in the shape of Mark Furman.

Furhman might have been a racist, even though his fellow LAPD officers - some of them blacks - said he wasn’t, but the blood evidence, the hair and fibre evidence, the lack of anything close to an alibi, the testimony from the limo driver, Simpson being trained how to use a knife - Jesus I could go on and on - should have trumped all of that.
Period.

Good riddance to trash.

Not only that, he had arthritis and stopped taking his meds weeks before to allow his hands to swell. The defense gets discovery, and any half assed attorney would know they had gloves and would have had him try them on if entered in to the trial.

On another version of the board, I kept saying he was innocent. Not because I felt he was but because that was how the jury ruled. Now, if you believe in God, Karma, or anything else, he gets the final ruling.

A sad story no matter how it all went down.

The racist comments were icing on the cake. Furman invoking the fifth ammendment when asked directly if he planted evidence was the definition of "reasonable doubt". Nothing was going to trump that.

Now OJ can finally rest knowing his wife’s killer has died.

I don't think he's smiling up at us with all these nasty posts.

Another interesting topic I heard talked about on the news was the DNA evidence. That they had overwhelming DNA evidence. But the people I saw discussing it said it was very new and not many people knew, understood it or had confidence in it at the time. They said they believed had that same trial have been held today the jury would have reached a guilty verdict. I don't know if they're right about that but I found it to be a very interesting take on things.

That was a small factor, but how could the jury not understand what it means when you have a trail of blood evidence (his and theirs) that lead from the murder scene to Simpson's Bronco, and then right up to his bedroom?

I still have never figured out how a jury could have arrived at a not guilty verdict.

Yeah, forgetting that two people were slaughtered at Simpson’s hands. Good jury, good people.

I remember a Cincinnati radio show host, not SportsTalk and not Bill C, say that the thing that pretty much convinced him OJ was guilty, was when the police called him at his hotel to tell him hie ex wife was dead. OJ did not even ask what happened. Hie logic being, wouldn't your first question be "OMG, what happened, or something of that ilk? It was almost like he knew the call was coming.

Even if she is your ex, you still have to deal with telling your kids their mother died.

I recently watched the FX series on the whole trial .. that was really well done

OJ was one of the biggest dichotomies in American history .. and now he is history
