OK, so I just needed to share this to make me feel better.

First off, I live just outside of Philadelphia, so there's not a lot of Browns fans here (whatup Philly Browns Backers!). As I was walking into a convenience store for a cup of joe this morning, I thought I saw the Browns helmet on the sweatshirt of the guy walking out. So I do a 180, smile and say "Is that a Browns shirt?" He didn't say anything, which I took to mean he thought I was crazy. About 20 seconds later I realized, it WAS a Browns shirt and he thought I was an Eagles fan ragging on him. NO NO NO, I AM THE OPPOSITE.

I've felt bad about that all day

Thanks for letting me vent

oh man...thats a bummer.

Maybe a thought...was it possibly an old Syracuse football sweatshirt? theyre easily mistakeable.

maybe...it wasnt, and you dont have to feel guilty?

Here in Southern Cali it is rare when I see someone wearing a Browns shirt or hat etc.
Every time I go up to whoever it is wearing the shirt or hat and start trying to talk to them about the team.

I swear every time, its some guy who knows nothing about the team. I think its funny because I get all excited to talk to someone face to face about Browns football and they know absolutely nothing about the team! Argh, frustrating!

That's just southern california.. when you move there it's mandatory that you lose 75% of your football knowledge.

I see quite a bit of Browns stuff in NC and most of them are diehards. In fact my neighbor is a Steelers fan who lived in upstate New York, then moved to Northern California, then moved here. When I first met his wife I had a Browns shirt on and me and her husband were talking and she commented on the fact that she doesn't ever remember meeting a half-hearted Browns fan, every one she ever met was a diehard...

That would be the LA part of So Cal.

I run into quite a few Browns fans in San Diego, and they all seem to know their stuff. I even got a good price on an oil change and car wash one time because I was wearing a Browns shirt, and the guy ringing me out was a fan.

if i see someone with brown stuff on here, i have to at least honk my horn, or, if i'm not in my car, talk for at least a minute

and usually, if it's vice versa, and i have something browns on, a browns fan will always say something, if there is one around...

it's pretty funny how a football team can bring complete strangers together

i think it's just that instant bond... i mean, there are really very very few casual browns fans, especially outside of ohio, you either don't care for them, or you are like all of us, and have suffered over the years, but stuck with it

You do not run into a lot of people wearing any kind of Browns clothes down this way, very often!

I always go out of my way and talk to someone when I see them wearing Browns stuff....wherever it might be!

I have a feeling that the Tampa Browns Backer Bar is going to be nothing less then fantastic this coming season.....it is so fun to see SO many Browns fans (over 100) down here all decked out in Browns stuff!

Every time my dad and I see a Browns fan somewhere you wouldn't expect he says the same thing. "They're everywhere."
