I like this guy. He comes in a couple of days before his first game & makes two great catches. Then last week he was de-activated. I was ????. Whats a guy have to do to make Daboll or Genie happy? This move didn't help my opinion of EM thats for sure. Then this last game he's in there & makes a couple of more great plays. I wonder why he seems to be a after thought in our Offense? He seems to be a big target & he does catch the ball.

Anyway what are some of your opinions on this guy? Does he seem to be a TE that we keep for the future or does a change of FO let him go & we draft another?

He reminds me of Brandon Mal........a in san diego. A wide load, that can catch the ball. Not fast downfield.

He is better than Royal and probably has earned more playing time.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Do you think he would be a newer version of Heiden? I don't think Steve will last much longer. He's what? 32 will be 33 next year? It would be nice to get a blue-collar TE for the future.

Not a newer version really, he has played for 5 years.

Yeah, he is older than I thought. Well, he will still be only 30 next year. I hope he works out. When's the last time you saw a TE or WR catch the ball & get hit only to force their way for a touchdown? I think SH was the last one I can remember. Maybe Jamal. Gotta love a guy like that.

I like him. Thanks for the post. I say we keep him for the near future. A Kellen winslow-type TE could really help this team, but unless Gresham miraculously falls to the top of the 2nd we have too many other important needs to fill, especially if gaines maintains his level of play.

Count me as a member of his fan club. Seems to be able to catch anything thrown his way, and at almost 270 should be a big help blocking. Hope he can stick.

I'm grateful for Browns football.

I liked the fact that his first game, and he made those catches he seemed to be the only one that could catch. Then the next week, he's de-activated, blew me away. I hope they get him in there for the rest of the yr. See what we got. He looks good compared to what we have had this year, WR or TE.

I love this guy, he is like a 3rd tackle on running plays and if a QB is accurate enough, the BD isn't going ot get around him to bat at the ball!!! haha.

I'm a big fan of huge dudes in the open field.

He's awful. And he has the athleticism of Floyd Womack. But he can catch! Which means that he's one of the few somewhat useful skill position players on our team.

There is no way this guy is on the roster of any other professional football team other than the Browns. If that's a plus then ok!

I agree. He does seem able to catch but he's no mismatch like K2. He's ho-hum to the opposing defense. No need to game plan for him. A good TE will still get their catches in this offense but no one we have is a real threat.

I don't know if he's the answer.. maybe... I'd like there to be more answers than questions for a change

But what I know is that Heiden is no longer the answer. too bad.. one hell of a guy and player... Might make a good TE coach someday...

Royal is NOT the answer either.. not even close.

I don't know much at all about Estandia... might he be worth more time? dunno

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Before I head off to eat my way to oblivion, my intent was NOT to compare him to KWII. Don't think anybody would get that impression. What I saw, when he is on the field is a guy who goes after the ball & when he gets it tries to destroy the tackler. We need FOOTBALL Players Not Ballerina's.
Could care less if he can't spiroette. My point is that what little I have seen of him, I like him. Whens the last time you saw anybody make that kind of effort? I think Heiden is the only one. J. Lewis as a RB would also be there.

It would be nice to have more than 2 players that play like that that's my point.

How's his blocking? He's a big dude, that's for sure. Slow as a smoothie in winter but built like a soda machine. He can catch, if he can block then we definitely have use for him. He'd be a great 2nd TE in multi TE set if he can block & do that TE/FB switch up. Hell, I'm drawing up plays in my head as we speak just thinking about it.
