Has Poole ever finished a season NOT on IR? So many concussions and after 4 years you would think there would be enough progression that he would be a reliable starter: he is not. Every TE has a field day vs the browns, even the ancient one in Baltimore. I don't think Elam was much of an upgrade over the slow Sean Jones, whom the Eagles have deemed expendable. I had early Hopes for Poole , but I never saw much improvement in his coverage and he seemed to get nicked too much.

I wish him luck to stick somewhere and hope he does no permanent injury to himself by continuing his career.

Brodney Pool reaches deal with Jets
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 11, 2010 8:24 PM ET
Free agent safety Brodney Pool is about to become a Jet.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the New York Jets reached an agreement on a one-year, $1.3 million deal with Pool on Thursday night.

Pool has played his entire five-year career in Cleveland but wasn't tendered by the Browns. That means the Jets won't have to send any compensation to the Browns, even though Pool was technically a restricted free agent.

Pool has suffered multiple concussions, and after his latest concussion cut short his 2009 season, there was talk that it could end his career. But Pool was given a clean bill of health in February.

In addition to the Jets, teams that showed an interest in Pool included the Rams and Buccaneers.

Darn, was really hoping to resign him. He always gave 100%.

Good luck and stay healthy Brodney.

Hey, best of luck to him. He always gave his all, which probably lead to those damn concussions.

I hope he stays healthy and plays really well except against us.
