Suh is arguably the best thing to come down the pike as far as defenders are concerned in decades. We've got a bazillion picks this year. 2 picks out of the first 38. Would you give up those two picks and a later rounder to move up to number 1 and take Suh?
What say you, Talkers?

It would take a lot more than that to move St. Louis from #1.
How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

No thanks.
Using the draft value chart as a guideline - the first pick is worth 3000. The 7th is worth 1500, and 38 is worth 520. We'd still be on the line for about 980 points which would equate to a mid first rounder next year. Not worth it.
As per him being the best defensive prospect in decades, that's news to me. Best in this draft is arguable to some of the talking heads. For example Mike Mayock has McCoy rated higher.
And as per needs go, we could probably use a DE, sure, but not in the first round and not at that cost. I'd rather move Rogers to DE full time and draft another NT somewhere.

Wait....So you do you think Mccoy will be drafted ahead of Suh? If so we can make a sig bet on it. I have plenty of Tebow sigs to go around

I never said that, I stated Mike Mayock has him rated higher. Quite different.

I think Suh will be a great player. But I think it would be hard to give up a boatload of picks for a player who might not even fit in our defense.

I'm not sure where you or anyone get the "best thing to come down the pike as far as defenders are concerned in decades". I mean, isn't there the same hype for players at the top of every draft? Maybe he's a future HOFer.....maybe he's going to be an oft-injured player that ends up being average....and maybe he'll be a complete bust.
If people were that smart to always know who are the stars waiting to happen, only good players would get drafted in the first few rounds. It doesn't work that way.
As far as trading up....pffft, I want to trade down again (unless Berry is available). I'd also like to package a few of our late round picks to move up into the 2nd/3rd.

true dat, but no I don't believe he will be drafted before Suh. I guess there is a chance, but small one.

If we trade up, it better be for Bradford.

All I'll say is: We'd better not trade up.

It doesn't look like it's a possibility anyway.
If Berry is gone I'd want to trade down. Hopefully some team really likes Jimmy Clausen and will trade up to get him. I just don't see that team. The Bills could just wait to draft him at 9. Maybe Jacksonville? Gerrard is not bad at all though.
I'd love to be able to trade down and draft Kyle Wilson, Earl Thomas, Jerry Hughes, Mike Iupati or Maurkice Pouncey. And get even more picks, allowing us to move back into the 2nd round more easily.

If we can't get Berry I'll be dissapointed just like I was when we couldn't get Curry.

And if we do? What if the player we trade up for turns out to be a stud? That's the only reason I would expect the Browns to trade up.....because they think we are drafting a great player.

What if he's a bum? What if he's just Ok?
What if every guy taken with every pick that we give up turns out to be solid?
At best, we get ONE stud, and lose out on how many Solid players? On a team as lacking in Solid players as we are..... I'll take a slew of solid over taking a single "stud", because I don't care how good that "stud" is... he still plays only a single position.

That is only a crutch for teams with poor drafting records.

no way we trade up for Suh.. We get NO IMMEDIATE help with him.. We have the best NT in Shaun Rogers, and our defense still gets ate up..
If Bradford does not fall.. which he wont.. Berry is the best bet. Our secondary is in shambles.

Suh is probably the only player worth trading up for but I don't think the Browns will consider it with as much help as we need. We're going to get an impact player just sitting at 7,..no reason to start panicking.

I agree, if we trade up it should be with the third to help advance our 2nd into the late first (may be get Brandon Graham or Anthony Davis or a corner/impact player dropping).
With all the picks we have, I see us packaging one of the thirds to move us forward into the first. Otherwise may be using the fifth rounders to advance us. But I see us staying put with the number 7 pick, and getting a solid player. Otherwise, we have plenty of collateral to trade up to get guys that we want that we otherwise might never have been able to consider.

We will name him Benjamin Gerard Gaywarren Bustman and walk away to dream another little dream of dominant performance. No guarantees on the best of these guys; we have been lousy judges of horseflesh in trades, drafts, and sidelines thus far. Hope this is the breakout year when we see massive improvement if not total results. Going to war with a motley crew, but some proven folks too.

What would be so bad about it?
It'd really Kickstart My Heart and get our team's Wild Side going. Holmgren is our Dr. Feelgood, he's gonna make Pittsburgh wanna Shout at the Devil.... and Cleveland Browns Stadium will once again be Home Sweet Home.
This team's got Looks that Kill.
