Limas Sweed suffers Achilles tendon injury Posted by Michael David Smith on May 2, 2010 1:24 PM ET Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed left Sunday's final minicamp practice with an injury that could keep him out for the entire season. Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that coach Mike Tomlin said it looks like a serious Achilles tendon injury. A ruptured Achilles tendon would likely prevent Sweed from playing at all in 2010. The Steelers' second-round draft pick in 2008, Sweed has caught just seven passes in two years in Pittsburgh. The Steelers released a statement last month in which Sweed said he's been dealing with "personal issues."

I don't really see this affecting their receiving corps much... he hasn't done much out of college.

He has done jack, you're right. But they look pretty thin at the spot now. I have no clue who their 3rd string WR is right now....I know they drafted Sanders this year, but man, who do they have? I wanna say they have another guy they drafted when they took Wallace that hasn't done much either.

Not sure how a guy who has caught 7 passes in 2 years getting injured is causing the team to take a hit but anything bad happening to the steelers is good news

Wallace and Ward- thats a solid 1-2 punch. The Sweed injury really does not hurt them that much.
