Report: NFL finally reaches deal with Time Warner Cable

The NFL has apparently reached a deal to end a longer-running impasse than the one with its officials.

According to Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg, the league has reached an agreement with Time Warner Cable to carry the NFL Network and Red Zone Channel.

Time Warner has about 12 million subscribers, and was the last major cable carrier without a deal with the NFL.

The league was careful to point out the lack of Time Warner’s presence when it signed a deal with Cablevision, noting it was the only one of the top nine carriers without the channel.

It’s a huge get for fans in New York City, as well as smaller markets such as Charlotte which were locked in with TWC. Of course, at least one customer in Charlotte (Gruden thumbs, this guy) got tired of waiting and switched.

This is good. I avoided TWC for years because of this. When I moved to Germany, I picked it up in the states becasue they had the fastest upload speed in Columbus for better viewing of my slingbox.

From the other thread: looks like channel 346 (1346 for HD) for NE Ohio/western PA. RedZone is 347/1347.

I watch the NFL Network over regular tv about 95% of the time. Thank goodness for it.

I long ago found the channel to be unwatchable for the most part. It is just so much repeated crap, ad nauseum, that unless an actual live game is coming on, I never dial it up any longer.

During season it's not bad, since they basically replay the weeks games.

During off-season it it extremely repetative and annoying.

I agree, but Redzone is awesome when there's a boring game on or during commercial breaks.

Sorry, I'm a Browns fan... the ability to re-watch games does not appeal to me
