Watchin right now...the Bisping/Stann fight was pretty good, too bad no one really connected on anything heavy...

now Demetrious Johnson v. Joseph Benvides (sp)

later Jon Jones v. Vitor Belfort

Whats thoughts? Lots of people didnt like the decision of Jones to back out of the Sonnen fight when a week before Jones was supposed to fight Dan Henderson and he got hurt, Sonnen was tabbed to replace him and Jones turned it down and it canceled the whole card.

Im a little disappointed in Jones because he got his title shot because he was an injury replacement (although it was 6 weeks not a few days), but I still support the guy cuz my mother knows his father and she taught his brother Chandler (now with the Patriots). So im all for Jon, and he needs a big night because hes struggled of late.

His Rashad Evans fight was mediocre at best, he got a DUI when he put his Bentley into a tree, and then turned down the Sonnen fight...Jon needs a good day to get back on the good side of White and UFC fans...

anyone else watchin?

Holy crap was I dissapointed in that fight. Once Jon figured out Evans had nothing he just cruised for the win...

I was hoping fr an Evans/Machida type finish.

I hate Rashad Evans.

Belfort was as close as you can get in the first round with the arm bar...

Then decided he liked being elbowed in the face repeatedly so he kept pulling guard...

Who's ganna beat Jones?

Eventually he's going to move up to heavyweight. First he has to clear out the light heavyweight division. Henderson, Machida, and Rua all deserve shots. Henderson most of all as the other two have already lost to Jones.

I would love to see Jones versus Cain Velazquez or Junior dos Santos.

i thought it was over...but outside of that 5-10 seconds...Belfort had nothing, he had me on edge though because it just felt like any slip up at all by jones and he was gonna be in trouble again...but he just stayed sharp.

His face must feel awful right now...and I thought that his arm was gonna go noodle there when jon bent it.

Great fight...hopefully this gets jon back on the good side of MMA.

I wonder if White is going to make this road as difficult as possible for Jones now after he backed out on Sonnen. That being said...idk who could beat him. If he moves up a weight class...though fighting Anderson Silva will prolly be the next guy they could put out there against him that could beat him...That being said...Silva has no motivation to go up any weight classes at all...I dont see any light heavyweights that can challenge...the only good light heavyweights are all old and beyond their prime, itll be a while before a real challenger comes to jon at light heavyweight.

Hes gonna have to go up to heavyweight and make his rounds there...Jones has said before he has the ability to go up 20 or so pounds and not lose anything

Silva is the weight class below Jones, middleweight (185), so Silva would have to move up. Something that has already happened (he is fighting Bonnar at light heavy next).

The rumor is that if GSP beats Condit he will move up to middleweight and fight Silva. But I think it will be hard for GSP to pass up a fight with Nick Diaz.

Jones can easily move up to heavyweight. But Henderson deserves a title shot before Jones leaves the weight class.

right i confused myself...

looking at records...

Glover Teixeira is 18-2
Sonnen is 28-12
Thiago Silva is 14-3
Wagner Prado is 8-0
Nick Penner is 12-2 (and is also 6'4)
Ednaldo Oliviera is 13-1-1
Stanislav Nedkov is 13-0
Jimi Manuwa is 11-0
Ryan Jimmo is 17-1 (like Jones before today)
Alex Gustafsson is 14-1 (and 6'5)
Phil Davis 9-1
Ryan Bader is 15-3

Theres guys there with good records, idk who theyve beat. Henderson would be a good choice to fight him, but the man is old...Hes over 40, and i just dont see it...hes a puncher, and i feel Jones would destroy him on the ground.

Jones was originally supposed to face Henderson, but Henderson blew out his knee. If Henderson can come back he deserves the shot.
