I was just messing with you. It's expensive. And good. It's been a long time since I've been there but I don't remember seeing an invitation from you to make it four so sorry.

No kidding. I saw that title and thought,"WTF did he do now?"

Peen, I've eaten there several times and it has always been an excellent meal. Highly recommend the sautéed calamari appetizer. It's not your typical fried style. Very good stuff.

If you ever get a chance, check out Johnny's on Fulton. Same ownership. Excellent place as well. In fact, I think it's one of Alec Sheiner's favorite spots.

Lola is a must too if you haven't ever been.

Enjoy the meal!

I agree that XO is very good. Had an excellent ribeye with garlic butter on it. I don't know if I'd compare it to Johnny's, in the sense that one is an Italian restaurant and one is a steakhouse.

Go to Johnny's on Fulton. That is the original restaurant. My buddy is a chef there. Its in the neighborhood I grew up in. Which is kind of a crappy neighborhood but Johnny's has been there since when it was a nice Italian neighborhood. St Roccos is still holding on, and actually doing quite well by adapting to the neighborhood by having a second mass in Latin that attracts a lot of the heavily Hispanic Catholics.

We've eaten at Johnny's on Fulton a few times, and always loved the Gnocchi (home-made potato pasta) with Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo. (BTW, that's pronounced nyah-kee.)

I assume you are speaking of the one on I think it's West 6th or in that area?

Bring your wallet and prepare for a great meal.

But if it's me, I go to Mortons in the old Terminal Tower building behind the Casino everytime. Just my preference.. But you can't really go wrong with Johnnys either.

I've been to Mortons and been to XO. I like both.

Johnnys is about the last of the downtown restaurants I haven't tried at one time or another over the past 5-6 years, so this year, they get my business.

Thanks for the reviews. They bolster what I already thought would be the case.
