Is there a way to force the color of text that I see. I use the new light scheme and some colors can just barely be seen, or not seen at all.

The themes only control the default colors of the text displayed and the background color.

It doesn't do anything for when somebody decides to write something in some other color. Sometimes this makes for annoyingly difficult to read text, but there is no workaround for it aside from highlighting the text with your mouse.

Has there ever been an explanation on why people change their text color?

OK, thanks for the reply. Lately I have just started skipping those posts, especially when I am on a tablet.

You lost me there... Why would there need to be an explanation?
They have the ability to use a different color, they choose to do so. It's everyone's prerogative.
