They segregated themselves. Have you seen the price of real estate in France? Only wealthy people live in tourist areas.

So if I can't live in downtown cleveland, over Steven the wealthy suburb of level and, because I don't have the money, I segregated myself? Or I didn't have any other option?

You're certain?
Did the european americans segregate the europeans that came to what we call the u.s. Or did each person segregate themselves into a neighborhood of people with similar backgrounds?
I'd bet the muslims move to other countries and choose to live where other muslims live, wouldn't you bet on that?
You have a lot of over seas experience, but you weren't born over seas, were you? My understanding is your european experience is based on your military service. If so, there are many, many ex or current military people that have also served over seas.
Your heritage is from Turkey, right? And you visit Turkey every year? I believe thats what you have said.
You say your parents are muslim and christian? I think that's what you have stated before - and you hate religion. Is that right?
So, your opinion is...........your opinion?

You chose to live there because that was what you could afford. That is not the same as France forcing you to live in a ghetto because you are a Muslim. You are simply Poor.

I can't speak for any of you but if for some reason, I find myself living in another country, I think I'd bend to their way of life rather than force them to bend to my beliefs. And that's what 90% of them do. But THEY don't make the news.... because that's not what the news is about, is it? The only ones most Americans hear about is the 10%. And because they DON'T know about the other 90, it's easy to begin assuming that most are like the 10%. That's so totally messed up I can't even laugh at it. My area is home to the largest Middle-Eastern community in America. I trade in their stores. I teach their kids. I see them at concert receptions. They make the local news for being award-winning entrepreneurs, sending their sons to Buckeye Boy's State, or becoming the newest member of the school board. You know- "American" things. They've learned to speak English more correctly than most folks who were born/educated here, and their kids are X-Boxed out just like little "Cody and Ashley" across the street. They're freakkin' ordinary Americans trying to breathe free. And because Human Nature doesn't change with political lines on a map, it's a safe assumption that 90% in every other country are doing exactly what my neighbors are doing. That's the advantage I have when talking about this issue: I'm talking about real people that I actually know, not some anonymous 'discussion topic' from some hot, sandy foreign land. These people have assimilated into their host's culture in virtually every way imaginable. Only two other things to do, to finally satisfy some of us: 1. Join the local Presbyterian church 2. Change their last names to Smith. Forgive me, but this kind of talk just makes me angrier than almost anything else in the world, because it ignores what is fact, and focuses solely on the 'exception to the rule' to form some straw argument. An argument that can only be seen as true when viewed through the narrowest and most specifically-focused of lenses. So what? Grandma Pugliese never learned English. Cussed people out in Italian til the day she died. Threw curses on folks Mon - Sat, and crossed herself in church at Mass every Sunday. Ran the house just like they did in Palermo. She was less 'assimilated' than most of the folks I'm describing... and each of them has their own 'Grandma P' living nearby. It's the nature of immigration to ANY country. If you're young enough to learn it, you do it. If you're too old, everyone understands. If you refuse to change, then you live on society's margins, with the rest of the 10%. The 10% who make it onto the news because they're NOT like us.

I was born in Germany in 87. We stayed until they got orders to go to ft Campbell in 92.
Then back in Wiesbaden Germany from 98-01, and that's when my parents go out and we move to cleveland.

Immigrants and refugees tend to segregate themselves. I know it happened in this country, as there are tons of Germantowns, Little Italys, and other ethnic divided neighborhoods. Germans, the majority ethnic group, are all over the country. Italians are mostly in NY, NJ, New England. Irish in the NE. Norwegians in the north mid west. Blacks in the south. Mexicans in the SW. English in the NE and Utah area. French in the NE near Canada. And finally, Americans (mixed Europeans) through TN, KY, WV. (These are the majority population in these areas) The difference in this country is most of these people have integrated their societies and we tend to escape the boundaries we place on ourselves. The muslims in France and the UK do not assimilate into the country. Due to past experience, this will eventually happen in Germany, where they'll have neighborhoods of 3rd-4th generation migrants that don't assimilate as they do in France.

Was at Target yesterday and wasn't meaning to ease drop, but in the check out line I overheard a little girl, under 12 for sure, ask her parents "why do Muslim people hate everyone?" and I thought to myself... how in the world do you answer that one if you were the parents?

Easy. Religion is stupid. or say, Some of them do. Right now, they are the boogeyman, so everything bad about some of them is amplified to make you think everyone that is Muslim is bad. or As the bigoted parent, just say, because they are bad people and we should kill them all. There's lots of options there, but really, it depends on your personality and how bigoted you are yourself.

Troubling... she was no older than 12. Maybe even no older than 10.
I was instantly curious what the reply was. Didn't get a chance to hear it as they moved to a different check out lane.
The sources are endless, even at that age, where she could've been exposed. The mother's facial reaction told me it definitely didn't come from the parents.

I honestly don't know if it's real or not. I posted it because it seems typical.
Typical of what? Your broader experience with Syrian refuges? Or typical of what people get angry about on Breitbart? No, I mean my broader experience of reading about muslims. Even Farrakhan has sent his people to destroy liquor stores because they find alcohol offensive. You have read about muslims setting up 'sharia zones' in London and surrounding areas? I'm sorry, but reading about a culture and experiencing that culture are two completely different things. My next question is have you ever traveled or lived in Europe? I've lived both in France and Italy. I have no idea what you mean when you say "Sharia Zones" . I've never seen them. But we all know the news on a daily basis puts out propaganda. Case in point: Here is a link to a video/article of Fox New apologizing for implying Europe had Sharia Law/No-go zones. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/19/world/...and-france.htmlNow as far as Farrakhan sending goons to destroy liquor stores, please provide a reference. I like to research both sides of controversies. Thanks!

My former son-in-law went out to have a smoke, forgot his lighter, and went back inside right before the 7/7 bus bombing, which was 3 buildings away. I read the Mirror, the Guardian, and the Daily Mail. My family still in the UK talks about these problems all the time. How long has it been since you've been there? Fox was proven right after the left went off on the 'sharia zone' manufactured issue. Fox was stupid for apologizing so quickly. There are zones that are controlled by muslims and are 'sharia zones'. Do your own research. Farrakhan's nation of islam has been going after liquor stores in Oakland for years.

This post really speaks a lot to how people view the news media. Even when Fox admits they're wrong, they're still not wrong. It's honestly rather funny.

So, post away about the illegal immigrant sanctuary cities in the u.s. Haven't seen any of those posts from you in this thread. Yet you call out someone about not posting about nazi sanctuary cities? Ironic at best. Let's see those posts about cities in the u.s. that harbor illegals. Thanks in advance. (I'll be gone for most of the night - so I look forward to your posts, in a thread about muslims, tomorrow.)

Also, could you imagine Muslims controlling zones and using stickers to do enforce their laws?

Yeah, the pics are from 2011. There are some Muslim Extremists "trying" to make Sharia Law zones from what I've read, but plastering stickers on light poles doesn't make it so. You could say the same about Westboro Baptist church in their attempts to spread a message of hate. Or even the KKK. I saw their poster in my town as a kid. Doesn't mean they were successful.

Also, could you imagine Muslims controlling zones and using stickers to do enforce their laws? If it was that easy, we need to flood Cleveland and Chicago with a stop the violence sticker campaign. Crazy how people are afraid of people they have never met. We live in a time where you can get on the Internet and go to a chat room of any and every subject matter we can imagine yet we don't. Some of these guys need to reach out to some moderate Muslims on line and ask them questions. I think they would find, there are not really that different.

The propaganda makes it seem as though the local authorities are going long with these extremists attempts to make No-go zones, but they are not successful. Unlike times past in the Deep South where Blacks were not welcome and the sentiment was enforced by local authorities.
