Weeden has a chance to play for a while. Its not that bad to root for him. He`s not in our division or anything. He does have the arm and size to play. Now its up to the coaching to fix ol flipper.

All we need now is Mccoy to get some playing time and we`d be a decent qb farm team. Hehe

I`m glad we got manzel. He seems to get it now.

Anybody think Mcown might not pass concussion protocol?

That's a loaded question if your insinuation is that the team may elongate his not playing based on Manziel.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but with the concussion protocol now, the team doesn't have any say how long someone is out - it's 100% up to an independent dr, isn't it?

Arch, I believe that is 100% correct. The protocol is set up so that the team (coach, GM, owner, etc) are completely out of the process.

No idea yet if he'll pass the protocol. But if he does, it will be interesting to see how the QB situation is handled. Pettine is in a tough spot.

Whomever you go with in Week 3 has to be the guy you plan to start Week 17.

The problem is not the coaches, its the fans/media.

If McCown starts, and doesn't play perfect, even in a win, it will be second guessed.

Its "easier" to start Manziel. Because you can chalk it all up to "QB Growth".

I do not know who gives us the best chance to win honestly. I think both have their ups and downs obviously.

We should simply follow OSU's lead and use a 2 QB system. It's working so well for them so far.

Best of luck to him, unless he plays us at any point, and especially if he plays anyone in the AFC.

Who cares about Weeden? Does he play for the Browns? What's next...now's the time to call Dallas and offer Manziel? Geezus.

Didn't Dallas label Weeden "the most improved player?"

It's really only a tough spot if McCown comes back and plays really poorly.

I think you make the statement that McCown won the job throughout training camp and looked pretty sharp in his one drive, you praise Manziel for the progress he has made, stating that it's obvious that all of his hard work is paying off.... but you still feel that whats in the Browns immediate best interest and Manziel's long term best interest is to go back with the veteran McCown and let Manziel go back to learning and improving on the things we saw in the first couple games...

He played okay on Sunday.

Now the rest of America can see what we had to deal with back then. It was rough with Weeden at the helm! I think my blood pressure used to spike way up!!!

He was spot on during last nights game. Weeden has talent but he really was of weak mind. He kept making the same bad decisions over and over. Wish him nothing but the best.

I've never felt more rage then when I saw the Browns draft Brandon Weeden ... a few things broke in my vicinity

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Like most backup quarterbacks, Weeden will look good to great for a game, maybe even two. After that his plummet back to Earth is guaranteed.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

From what I read, the Browns team doctors passed McCown, but the independent doctor did not.

im not really sayin we should of stuck with him or anything. im just saying its somewhat relevant that he has a chance since learning for a few years over there.

its ok to look around and see if our oops could be something on a better team. of coarse better as in us then and them now...oh my

I have nothing personal against Weeden. It didn't work out here but I wish him well except when playing the Browns. Same with McCoy.

As for McCown passing protocol, wow,,I don't think they have a choice, if he does pass it, don't they have to report it as such?

I'm pulling for him. I'll be watching to see if he's improved.

He had some good games for us. I thought he mostly outplayed Luck his first year when we played the Colts. The TD pass to Gordon in that game was still one of the most impressive TDs I've ever seen thrown. The angle and arm strength were amazing.

Ultimately, he just didn't have it upstairs, either from being football smart or mentally tough. I'm interested in seeing what some time sitting behind Romo has done.

The disdain for Weeden is a result of a Browns over reach in a desperate attempt to fix a problem that has existed since 99. You don't draft a 29 yr old QB in the first round. He needed time to develop and he is in a better situation in Dallas.

I hope he does well.

Not sure it has that much to do with the "over reach"... yes we reached on Weeden really badly.... we didn't over reach on McCoy, taking him in the 3rd round, about where he should have gone... and it still took about a year and a half before people had turned on him because he wasn't the savior yet.

Can't disagree with Jerry, Weeden could launch the ball three football fields with seemingly no effort. Not sure about the accuracy aspect though, especially on the short/intermediate routes.

Jerry Jones airs his own show I guess every Monday or something like that. I'm not a fan of JJ, but I think that's pretty cool. It's supposedly "live" and etc.

I'll add that there is 2 components of this - 1. Lacking intelligence in general to read defense and adjust and process the game quickly enough 2. Lacking football instincts. He stopped playing football for a long time and was baseball only - the things that other QB's do on instinct because they have played the game every year for 'x' years .... Weeden had to think about...... My instinct is that no matter how gifted his arm is, he won't be able to catch up to the mental aspect of the game. Rotten luck for the Cowboys to have your 2 premier offensive guys go down. Ouch.

you and i both know, all it takes is one flip pass, and he's done. i can't think of a more ruthless fan base than the cowboys either. he'll get booed out of the stadium.
