Thought this was worthy of a discussion.

Bills pass on Trent Richardson, sign Boom Herron
85

By Dan Hanzus
Around the NFL Writer

Trent Richardson's chance to salvage his NFL career encountered another setback Tuesday.

Richardson was among a group of free-agent running backs who worked out for the Buffalo Bills, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source close to the situation. The Bills, however, decided to go in a different direction, signing former Colt Dan "Boom" Herron.

Richardson's opportunity comes with LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (concussion) sidelined in Buffalo's backfield.

We last saw Richardson in August, when he was an early training camp cut by the Oakland Raiders. Richardson, the No. 3 overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, signed a two-year deal with Oakland that included $600,000 in guaranteed money, but started camp on the NFI list and never moved up the depth chart.

Richardson averaged just 3.3 yards per carry in three NFL seasons. For perspective of how much Richardson has struggled, Rams rookie Todd Gurley had more runs of more than 20 yards in the second half of Sunday's win over the Cardinals than Richardson did in three years with the Browns and Colts.

So yeah, Richardson has not had a good NFL career. We'll see if he eventualy gets a chance to continue it.

And the next head coach is ......

I wish he was on drugs or something - but just coming up terrible...I still say he has that vision affliction that causes tunnel vision.

So how many years did 2009 or 2013 send us back? Based on your logic we're at least talking 15-20 yrs, right?

well 2 first round picks, 1 second round pick, another second round pick that looks like crap with any QB not named hoyer..... you could combine 2009 and 2013 and time by two and it wouldnt be as bad...

could it be the worse draft in nfl history?

Yeah I really thought there was minimal to no chance Trent was going to get another gig. I was amazed, shocked and flabbergasted when he landed his last one, being as temporary as it was...

Prior to the draft I wanted nothing Of Trich... Heard the guy speak and wondered how he made it through college...His play at Alabama was questionable as he ran for daylight through huge and I mean huge holes...He had alot of nice skills I will admit...and the guy I Wanted (Blackmom) faired no better...I think Trichs scopes did something to him...He lost the quickness and stopped running and trusting his body...Like all Browns picks...I really wanted him to excel

so you think the #3 overall pick and the 22nd pick and a second round pick totaly blown is better than 3 wasted second round picks and a first round pick like mack?

I had a feeling it would eventually come to this... arguing over which awful Browns draft is the worst ever.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Oh the horror, should that logic ever be proven true.

Would that be 8 years for every failed first round or for every failed first ROUNDER?

The horror . . .

If they did a top 10 worst draft list the 1999-2015 Browns would have all ten spots easy. Heckert & Farmer will go down as the worst GMs in the history of the league.

I think there were/are demons in his closet that never got out into the public eye. Aaron Shea talked about during his time as player involvement rep that he always looked for Trent and Gordon's car when he got there in the morning.

We have had eight first round picks in the last five drafts. One of those players (Shelton) plays significant snaps for us on gamedays. That is really, really bad.

Well this debate/discussion must be about 2nd worst cause standing alone at top is Clark for his 99 & 2000 drafts.

2nd round picks are actually considered more sound impact picks than the first round. Don't know why - I think there are obvious slotting in the first round and in the 2nd there are many who are rated so close together the team gets to take an Impact player who is most suited to their team/plan.

Schwartz and Bitonio are good examples. Sheard and Ward We actually have done well in the 2nd round with exception to that Kokinos 09 draft.

That was Holmgren & Heckert's first draft, although Mangini was still our coach.

You saying any bad draft sets a team back 8 years, and you REALLY believing that is true, is what I laugh out loud about. Is this another one of your "facts"?

Drafts can be good or bad but one doesn't set a org back 5 years, let alone 8.

Good choice by the Bills, taking Herron over Richardson. Herron's a smaller back with surprising power; a good change-of-pace / 3rd down RB. He made one of the greatest 2-yard runs in history against the Browns last year on 4th-and-1 near the goal line, at the end of the game. They scored the next play on a 1-yd pass to Hilton, game over.

his 11 tds for us as a rook was cool. and he is a decent blocker in the passing game.

id say he isnt worse than crowell. i mean if someone touches crows shoestring he is down. trent would just run into the same guy and hope for another yard

im hoping turbin turns out to be a big time back.

duke is a little small for the inside. everyone else said so and the browns said....not for us...he`s and every down back in our eyes. kinda funny how we trump other successful teams.

I just listed Schwartz, Bitonio, Sheard & Ward

You give me stuff from several regimes AGO...trying to appease all we need a WR n RB guys --- boo hoo we need a WR.

lol laugh

Gordon is not a bust - he's suspended for dumb ass crap, not wife beating. Not doing drugs...but because he is a numb nut who couldn't figure out his probation period on drinking. He will have an entire training camp to get the rust off and get to know the offense. Considering he was a Pro Bowl player and so far in his Suspension more than 8 months into it he has kept his nose clean. I can only assume he still gets tested.

So to class him as a gone entity like Little is not correct or factual. Suspended yes but we don't lose time on his contract with us.

#1 if a player has to be reinstated that means he is no longer in the nfl. #2 the several regimes AGO stuff your crying about well look who you gave. lmao. and to top it off the last regime did not have a second round pick lmao. so that leaves Bitonio and ?. who did we take in the 2nd this year? is he playing well? is he a starter?

i still say the 2012 draft had to be one of the worst in nfl history.

And your point?

We took Schwartz with the 2012
We took Gordon with the 2013 pick.
We took Bitonio with the 2014 pick.
The insisting on taking the bad which in the last 3 years was not as the truth and only truth....is incredulous.

This year Orchard so far has not been great...he just started playing more reps. Hard to judge. He's not a special guy could be solid.

I've been ignored in all my pimping of special OLB...I've been doing it since we went in the 3-4 with RAC.

When I see somebody with special explosion (what I look for) I want them. Not all - was real high on the kid from Nevada a couple of years back, think Bengals took him. Injuries??? he disappeared.

But Orchard is not a given bust like some wish to state.

He is not a top 10 pick that is for sure.

Should we have Taken Mack last year? Yeah probably.

Hind sight is nice to have.

True I did go back to Ward n Sheard...
Again you are discussing the 2nd worst if any. The worst is locked up by Clark...no ifs, ands, buts about it.
