Ok Farmer is back and also we hit the magic week 4 where Vet contracts are not fully guaranteed. Here are some guys that I am pretty sure are still on the scrap heap. Do any of these guys warrant a signing? Can you think of someone else better?

Henry Hynoski

Montee Ball

Bryce Brown

Chris Cooley

Hakim Nicks

Wes Welker

Brandon Spikes

John Abraham

Barry Cofield

David Harris

Tommy Kelly

C.J. Mosley

Looks like a long list of has-beens that wouldn't make much, if hardly any, difference on this team. I'd say maybe Welker but the thought of yet another smurf WR instantly kills that idea.

isn't Welks like 1 concussion away from the looney bin?

No, nobody available to sign at this point would be good enough to make a meaningful impact for this team. MAYBE a playoff team could use one of those guys to give them the slight edge they need to find a tiny bit more success, but this Browns team can't use any of those guys.

I bet those guys not picked up are in really bad shape health wise or they would have been picked up by now.

I'd say no to all of them ... and they'd probably say no to us as well haha

If he can catch a football and at least jog a route he's better than our 9 million dollar man.

I liked Kitchen. He is very stout. Doesn't get pushed around very much. Very wide base. Plays w/a pretty good motor. I thought our run D was better w/him in the game than w/Phil.

I liked the idea of Pryor, but that's not where our problem is.

Our problem on Offense is that the line isn't functioning properly so we aren't getting good production from RB's. (last week not withstanding)

On D, it's everywhere.. no push by shelton, one LB that does his job, Whitner is getting owned, Haden is injured, beginning to believe that Gilbert is a bust.

Our problems are mainly on D at this point..

Nobody ever really loved Kitchen. Now that he's gone, he's being leveraged as a missing piece because people have agendas.

It's the same with Jordan Cameron. The same person(s) that called him a waste of space when he was with us are now targeting him a valuable piece we let walk.

I think people could easily stick with drafted picks and coaching if they wanted a consistent argument on why to hate this FO/staff. At least it would appear to be more honest.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Kitchen is still available - UFA.
Hasn't signed with anyone since being released.

Sign him, release Johnson and now he becomes our fullback smile I'm sure Kitchens could crush some people while Malcom usually getting blown all up.

well, it says something when one of our guys that are being touted on here isn't getting work even after the season has begun and teams have started to get hit by injuries.

either he has his own injury, or his skills just aren't enough to warrant the paycheck his years would require.

Different CJ Mosley. This is the D-lineman that used to play on the Lions.

You are thinking about the LB on the Ravens.

Kind of hard to run the football when you don't even try. We run one play, get stuffed and give up. You have to establish a run game. It takes effort and WILL. We might as well face the fact our OC is pass happy. There were many times last year when our running game wasn't happening early in a game, Shanahan just kept at it and most times we ended up running it pretty well. Run, pass pass pass pass pass pass run isn't going to produce a reliable rushing attack.

We were 17th in rushing yards last year and averaged 3.6 yards per carry last year with Shanahan.

Didn't Taylor have knee surgery? I don't think he is available this season because of that knee....

I think he needs knee surgery. Him taking the injury settlement makes me think he thought he was going to play this year.

Yes.

However, not being able to pass the steelers physical apparently changed his chances of playing anywhere, quite a bit.

It was the first season in that offense and we lost Mack half way through. We scored 16 rushing touchdowns and I'm pretty sure if Mack doesn't go down we go over 20. I'm not sure we will reach 6 rushing TD's at this rate. And that's alright. Not every team is about running the ball. If Flip wants to put the game ALL on McCowns shoulders it's his ass on the line. They better start winning though... When November comes and the wind kicks up, the cold sets in.... 45+ throws a game may look a little different smile Might look a little different when we start playing some good D's too. Then a running game might come in handy. Alas, it won't be there because we didn't bother trying to build one.... Peace

im ok with run and gun. it was silly to come out and say we are gonna be a smashmouth running team. you kinda have to be able to run first.

almost ast bad as saying we are gonna shut every wr down with our dbs....ooops

I`m good with Baker... Playoffs is good enough for me.
