I'd be interested in Hakeem Nicks and Henry Hynoski from that list. Nicks has the size at 6-1, 210 to break up the monotony of our smurf patrol WR corps. I'm not sure if he was injured or not, but I can't imagine why he isn't on somebody's roster - I always thought he was pretty good. Hynoski is the prototype FB; a great lead blocker / blitz protector, and a decent receiver out of the backfield. He could help our running game, IMO.

I don't know much about Hynoski, but I wouldn't be opposed to us looking for a more experienced FB at this point. I don't dislike Johnson, but his struggles have been the cause of more than a few blown plays.
Is Vickers available?

Trade for Calvin Johnson.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Trade for Calvin Johnson. Hopefully they want Bowe haha Megatron seems to have lost some of his seperation and big time speed...maybe being banged up constantly the past couple years finally caught up to him...No doubt an elite WR, however he seems to be hurting or showing negative effects

I would love to go get Henry Hynoski...He would be an instant upgrade to the FB position..at the very least he can pick up a blitz.
The only reason he was let go was because of an injury and another guy waiting in the wings to take over. His shoulder should be more than healed by now and he should be ready to step in an contribute..
A little trivia extra: Hynoski's dad was actually drafted by the Browns back in the 70's, so he is a legacy.

To steer back on topic, however, I'm not sure that there are any WR's out there that we should be interested in. Hakeem Nicks & Wes Welker are the only names that catch my eye, but I'm not sure they have anything left to offer us. As for Defense.... we need LBers and Secondary... and I'm pretty sure that there is nobody out there that we can bring in to help. Ahh, you edited it before I finished my reply

As for Defense.... we need LBers and Secondary... and I'm pretty sure that there is nobody out there that we can bring in to help. Going into week 5 of the NFL, it's hard to imagine that anybody is available now that is going to make any kind of an improvement. For all of the doom and gloom over our WR predicament going into the season, it's ironic that after 4 weeks, they are just about the least of our concerns.

I never understood all of that doom & gloom. Sure, they aren't a collection of All-Pro super-prototypical Megatron clones, but they're all solid in their own rights (although Bowe needs to get on the field to be included in that).
I've always been more worried about our LBers. I like Kruger, but they are misusing him (in my opinion, anyway). The rest is a big bowl of ho-hum to me. I don't understand why we haven't ever made ILB a higher priority on this team. Our LBers do not command the respect of the opponent's offense.... we don't have a Ray Lewis, James Harrison, or Dick Butkus type.

How do any of those guys help a 1-3 turn it around and make a playoff push? The answer is that none of them do.
Hakeem Nicks and or Brandon Spikes are about the only guys that MIGHT interest me, but other wise, I'd rather just continue letting our younger guys play.
I either want us to suck enough to get the #1 overall pick, or do a complete 180 and finish out 10-6 with a playoff berth.
I don't see the ladder happening though...

I don't see the latter happening either Have no fear we are going to suck. First pick in the draft is a crap shoot though. And if we are bad enough to get that first pick I would think a new GM and new HC would be making that selection. I can not believe Haslam would endure a 3-13 or worse season and not clean house.

I think tanking the season was always the PLAN Spirit and I suspect Haslam has been on board from day one. Said so many times in the off season and I predicted a 2-14 season I think they brought in McCown as insurance to hit the bottom so they could hit the top of the draft. Go thru all the off season moves and tally everything up the draft the FA signings the schedule yada yada and the Erving pick and walla tank. JMHO but it sure looks like I was right, hello 2-14 hello 1st pick in the draft as planned. Haslam won't can anyone they are simply following the PLAN... Lose now to win later...

That's just your own wishful thinking. There really is no evidence of that at all. The Browns suck because the guys making all the decisions are inexperienced in their jobs and at making those decisions. From Farmer signing McCown... to Farmer overcompensating in this year's draft because of last year's draft... to Pettine's refusal to play Manziel or at a minimum his inability to get Manziel ready to play... to Haslam not hiring a football authority to help these guys out, the organization is fraught with one crappy decision after another.
You may end up being right on the record but it won't be because of some grand plan. These guys are trying to win...they're just not very good at it because they don't know how.

How many teams have a "football authority?"
Haven't we tried this in the past (multiple times) and failed miserably?

I'm not saying that's the only way to run things.
I'm saying that's what the Browns need. Pettine and Farmer are learning on the fly with no one to turn to.

Anyone who would TRY to pass off McCown as legit and anyone who would believe it (you) has questionable judgement to begin with. Your angry cause it ain't going how you thought, I'm sitting here going yup just like I thought. It is the plan by all appearances you just refuse to believe it. On a team that needs talent for the Browns to draft Erving then sit him knowing that their center will be headed to the exit, it really tells you the tail you refuse to believe even though its staring you right in the face..... See C.

You might have me confused with someone else. I think McCown was a terrible signing and I said our ceiling with him is 5 wins. I also think we should be starting Manziel.
But there is no plan to purposely lose. What you're seeing is severe inexperience and poor decision making.

Henry hynoski played against my high school where I watched him played a few games. Even met him. His dad played for the Browns I believe in the '60s. He was only cut by the Giants because he was the more expensive FB and they opted for a cheaper one. He's definitely a solid blocking FB with decent hands. That's what a Hynoski is.

McCown sure did play not good but great today, but at the end of the day he is still McCown and he will show up and those that are basking in his glow tonight will again curse his existence...
Man I hope I'm wrong and he sure did show up today, caught me totally off guard, but that cat has sucked his whole career.
Hard for me to believe that the plan ain't to tank cause if I was going to run a ship to ground McCown would be my captain.
That said and again guy played great and I enjoyed the victory....
