Farmer has difficulty picking any skill position let alone wideout. Whether it be free agency or the draft he has failed at the wide receiver position. He has passed on numerous future all pro receivers and seems to spurn the need for the Browns to pick a stud in the draft. I wonder why?

"Please Do Not Let Farmer Pick The Next Wide Receiver"
I laughed out loud at this post. Thanks!

And while not wide receivers, He drafted Johnson Jr that's catching the ball very well and so is Crowell. As far as passing on a number of future all pros, that's hindsight.

we just scored 33 points with over 400 passing yards. Maybe our receiver are better than you give them credit for? We will fight out soon as we approach the meat of our schedule. So far only the Jets have shut us down completely and that was the first game of the season which we always suck on.

Plus, in that 1st game, we had a QB (Manziel) who had been out for an extended period of time in the preseason because of his elbow. He had not had a lot of work with the #1s, and hadn't had a ton of work, period, for a few weeks. I wonder how we would have done if (Man, I never thought I would ever type this) McCown had played the entire Jets game. He is definitely establishing chemistry with the receivers and backs ..... and I wonder how much that was actually set back by missing those (almost) 2 games?

Plus, right now, our defense flat out sucks.

No disrespect, but the Brown's receivers as a group average 5'8 1/2" shortest in North America. They are called the midget crew by opposing DB's and they can't block. The elite wide outs are all 6'2' or bigger for the most part. Farmer over paid Bowe to get a big WR and blew it on a guy who suckered him for a big guaranteed payday and a season off.

Wait, they can't block? Who said? They are small you bet, but they can catch and run and are fast as hell. Bowe was a bad pick up and I'm sure he'd have passed had he known he'd be out with injuries as much as he was. Hindsight again. This is a scrappy bunch of receivers and backs and TE's. I like the mix better today than I did at the beginning of the season. I think you are over thinking it. Let it play out and let's see where we are. Right now, at least as I see it, the Problems aren't on Offense. They aren't machine that the Pats are, but they seem to be clicking pretty good. Our problems are on Defense. I wouldn't have believed that before the season started. I've had thought for sure the O would be the problem. I'd have been wrong.

When Dwayne gets on the field this O is going to close to unstoppable. As it is just him being on the sidelines supporting his teammates and his leadership qualities have helped this team move in the right direction. Keep up the good work Dwayne this team needs you.!!!

Unstoppable? that might be a bit of a stretch.. If he produces it will make things better, but unstoppable? I don't think that's right..

Vince Mayle and Dwyane Bowe, yeah there's evidence to justify what you're pleading.
The thread title is funny lol In all due respect Farmer didn't draft Bowe and the jury is out on the 4th round pick of Mayle that Dallas placed on their practice squad for now.

The original poster said "Whether it be free agency or the draft" so yeah, you can throw that mess called Bowe in there. You're right about Mayle though, but, and not trying to rip the kid - but in Dallas without Des and etc, they are down people at WR and Vince, to my knowledge, is still on the practice squad and wasn't/hasn't been elevated to active roster. ... Hartline though cannot be included. He's made some nice catches and even better, he's thrown some critical blocks. In just the last game, he threw a great block downfield on Crow's TD run. I like Brian. All JMO of course.

Maybe it's not his talent at evaluating WRs that's the problem, maybe he is OVERvaluing those other positions he is taking and if he would just take a high draft shot on a WR he would take a good one.

We're just a Dwayne Bowe away from a true offensive juggernaut...
We're just toying with the rest of the NFL right now.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

This is maybe the most agenda driven thread title I've seen in a long time.
What do ya want him to pick another Cotton Pickin Db who only touches the ball 2 times a game when he knocks a pass down. And makes a tackle after the catch for a first down a half dozen other times, that don't help you win on those plays.
All these posts from all these dawgtalkers who want to, or wish Farmer weren't the GM anymore. I just ask one thing of you.
Tell me who the Next, better GM is going to be, and assure me how you think the Browns are going to convince him to come and take the Job here in Cleveland. Because maybe, just, people don't want to be the GM of the Browns, and the good ones will take a job on a different team.
So who's waiting in line to jump in and be the majic bullet that suddenly only picks hall of famers? Name somebody?
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

With Manziel getting to sit and learn, not to mention rest that elbow that has had no real rest since highschool, he might just end up a good pick for us. If manziel become a hit then gilbert being a miss pretty much balances out.

If manziel become a hit then gilbert being a miss pretty much balances out. Question - if JM stills all year learning, next year is contract year #3. Since he signed a 4-year deal, won't we try and move him next year if we don't think is the best option? Just thought of this when I read your 'sit and learn 'comment and don't know why I did...

How about "Please don't let Farmer pick another defensive player period!" lol Guy is terrible in the draft. I realize he hasn't whiffed on all of them, but that's impossible anyway.

No offense skilled positions, no defensive players, Farmer best pack his bags up or go work in the Browns cafeteria haha.
