I haven't watched Hackenberg recently, but at least stat-wise, he seems to be regressing. His comp pct is down to 53.8%, less than his freshman year (58.9) and his yards per comp is lower at only 6.84 (7.54 as a freshman). For comparison, Cardale Jones is at 62.9% completions and 8.64 yards per comp.
BTW, college QB Rating for the QB's we've been talking about here at DT are as follows:
Kessler, USC - 179.2 Hogan, Stanford - 169.8 Goff, Cal - 157.2 Cook, MSU - 151.0 Jones, OSU - 145.1 Hackenberg, PSU - 120.3

Just have to come by here to say how happy I am that the Ducks got beat AGAIN at Autzen Stadium last night... by lowly Washington State! Lol loving it. It's so quiet out here. The Duck fever has broken. All the "Autzen is the toughest place to play" nonsense has been hushed. (Yes they actually think this about their 45,000 seat Texas highschool sized stadium.) It's blissful. Now I just keep rooting for the fat turd, Kelly, and his massive ego and gimmicky offense to keep losing. I'd love to see him unemployed.

Whenever Kelly leaves the NFL he will have his choice of College Job..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Whenever Kelly leaves the NFL he will have his choice of College Job.. I'm betting a school like Texas would be willing to give him a lot of money. Also, USC.

Right. I wasn't joking when I said he was out boozing. He supposedly showed up to practice wrecked. They are going to be able to fire him with cause.

Sark gonna be gone ... booze hound
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

All the "Autzen is the toughest place to play" nonsense has been hushed. (Yes they actually think this about their 45,000 seat Texas highschool sized stadium.) It's blissful. Stadium size has nothing to do with how tough it is. Perhaps the loudest stadium in the country is in the FCS with a capacity of only 25k. Having been to several games there and at a few NFL stadiums, I certainly agree. Yes, it was even louder than when I was in Cleveland for the Falcons game that clinched our playoff spot. Here's a story where even Tony Romo agrees. Remember, Romo only played in Missoula as a visiting team so there is no favoritism. http://kyssfm.com/tony-romo-missoula-louder-seattle/The loudest game that I've experienced there was a FCS playoff game against Appalachian State....the winner went on to the National Championship. Jerry Moore, their coach, basically said something along the lines of Missoula made Michigans 109,000 fans sound like they were just mice or rats. I can't remember exactly which rodent he used and couldn't find a reference to it other than it being said on ESPN. Stadium Size has nothing to do with how hard it is to play in the venue. With that being said, I can't say anything about Oregon but you get my point

Spurrier retiring in the midst of a 2-4 season is a joke. Retire after the season. If he was 5-1 he wouldn't be quiting. I never liked him, but this makes it worse.

I wonder if Toledo stands a chance to even crack the top 15? i wonder if your cancelled game vs. Stony Brook doesn't come back to bite you during bowl season. You probably already know but severe weather canceled that game. It was the right decision, player and fan safety comes first. And anyway, it was Stony Brook. How many brownie points would they have gotten by completing that game? Almost none. I think Arkansas losing almost every game since Toledo's win will end up hurting them more than a token win to open the season. As much as I think Bielema is a jerk, I want him to win the rest of his games. Toledo can't brag about beating Arkansas as their signature win if they are ranked 95th in the country. Even with that being said, Toledo doesn't have anything left on their schedule to impress the playoff committee. If they win out, they'll finish around 13-17. And I'd still be happy with that.

He's literally running from a home loss to Vandy. In his presser today he was adamant that he's not retiring, he's resigning. I have no idea why. Said he will likely not coach in college any more, said he might coach high school or something.

As a college coach, is there a start and end to your work year? I know the bowl season would be a logical conclusion, but what about recruiting? Doesn't that go on all year?
Maybe he's dumping out to give the new coach a chance to begin recruiting as soon as possible.

Ranking Steve Spurrier's 10 Greatest Disses Ever: #10. “Dabo [Swinney] still thinks there’s 9 planets out there.” #9: “Will be the 14th time I’ve coached in Neyland Stadium. … I’ve coached there more than some of their head coaches.” #8: “In 12 years at Florida, I don’t think we ever signed a kid from the state of Alabama … Of course, we found out later that the scholarships they were giving out at Alabama were worth a whole lot more than ours.” #8: “If I had a defense like Hal Mumme, I’d be trying [onside kicks] during every kickoff.” #7: “There are no Vanderbilts in the NFL.” #6: “We might not be LSU or Alabama, but we ain’t Clemson, folks.” *** #5: “I sort of always liked playing [Georgia] that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.” #4: “I know why Peyton [Manning] came back for his senior year. He wanted to be a three-time star of the Citrus Bowl.” #3: “You can’t spell Citrus [Bowl] without U-T.” #2: ”You know what FSU stands for, don’t you? Free Shoes University.” #1: On Auburn library fire that burned 20 books: “The real tragedy was that 15 hadn’t been colored yet.” http://lostlettermen.com/steve-spurriers-10-greatest-disses-of-all-time/

Tom Herman will be coaching a big boy school very soon. He's a brilliant offensive mind and he learned under Meyer. If I'm Texas and can't land Kelly, I break bank to get Herman.

Just tell them your Jules from Ohio, and when they ask, say "yes that Jules", and they will be too scared to do anything.

Iowa vs Northwestern At the half: Memphis - 24 Mississippi - 14 I have only seen a few minutes of the game but Memphis looks like a much better team than #13 ranked Ole Miss.

The Memphis Qb Paxson Lynch was pretty impressive today. I cannot tell on television if he has enough arm strength or not for the NFL but if he does then he is definitely a guy to keep an eye on.
