I think (as I have all year) that JT should be the starter from this point forward.
I agree 2000% (if not more)
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
This has to be JT Barrett's team ... the offense seems so much more in-synch with him no the field. Not to mention everyone's energy level increases.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
To be fair, I remember people being terrified of what Melvin Gordon would do to us last year. Next 2 games are all 8 pm night games. We face Rutgers, Minnesota and Illinois before our showdown with Sparty.
Anyone else think Urb will be cocky and start Cardale again?
It's pretty clear that JT just works better in this offense. Cardale is hesitant and is playing worried. I think the bench could do him some good. You never know, you may need him down the line at some point. We all obviously are aware of that.
No shocker there, he comes in and the offense just looks different. Cardale lost all his accuracy and decides he needs to throw it as hard as he can everytime too.
Started to suspect JT would get the nod few games ago.

Well better he had his 'DA 2007 flash in the pan type streak' before he got to us.
Hopefully he can get it together.
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...
Just rewatched parts of the Penn State game and this will sound arrogant, but does anyone else have the exact opposite feelings when watching the Browns and Buckeyes? When watching the Browns you just wonder how they're gonna blow the game and lose. With Ohio State it's different, you almost KNOW they're going to find a way to pull it out at the end. When I watch Ohio State I think "this team is too good and this coach is too good to lose this game."
Yeah............I'm yelling at the tv, but deep down.......I think we are going to pull away. When I watch the Browns...it's like.........how are we gonna lose this week?
Friday: My son plays guard for a HS team in a league where they're just seriously outmatched in numbers and talent. Our best expectation is for them to have a few good series early and keep the game fairly close, which has happened a few times this season.
Saturday: Expect the Buckeyes to win, and they do.
Sunday: Browns football. The scenario you described.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul. - John Muir
I think winning the title the way that we did last year has a lot to do with that mentality. We witness a consistent perennial winner that has gotten it done at the highest levels on Saturdays. Probably the best run college football program in America the last 2 decades.

.....And then there's Cleveland....
If you think about it, Ohio State has been an unbelievably consistent program since Paul Brown coached them way back when...
I know they went over 3 decades between the '69 championship team and the '02 squad, but they seemed to always put up a really solid contending team every few years. No big gaps.
A lot of the major traditional programs have had decent size gaps where they have really been down. You saw it with Michigan for a little under a decade. Texas seems to be smack-dab in the middle of it. Alabama had some lean years before Nick came along. USC and Notre Dame both have ups and downs.
The only real gap Ohio State had was between '86 and '93 where they never finished ranked. Even then they had a few 3rd place finishes in the Big Ten.
When people around here ask me about it. I just tell them that they somewhat have a monopoly that nobody else really has. Ohio is rich in football talent, and while the state offers 8 division 1 scholarship programs, only Ohio State is in a big time conference. While schools like Notre Dame, MSU, and Michigan all recruit in Ohio, Ohio State usually makes out like bandits.
If you think about some of the other football rich states, Alabama splits with Auburn. Texas splits with UT, Baylor, TCU. California has Cal, USC, UCLA, Stanford. Florida has Florida State, Miami, UF. I think Penn State had a similar thing going before all the scandal stuff. LSU doesn't split with anyone, but really Ohio State is pretty unique in their situation.
It's really tough to compare the Browns to the Buckeyes though. The NFL is so even compared to college football. Ohio State does have that pedigree going way back to Woody Hayes and all that. The Browns had that taken away when the team shipped off. They need to create the pedigree and obviously we have all witness how hard that is.

Exact freaking opposite for Cleveland.
With OSU, I expect our second, third and beyond string players to play because we've secured the win. With the Browns, even with mega lead, I'm on pins and needles waiting for "the collapse."
I think to beat Ohio State you're absolutely going to have to play damn near perfect and they're going to have to struggle. Even then, OSU can pull it out at the end of the game.
Urban Meyer will have the Buckeyes hitting on all cylinders come next month.
You can already see it a little bit. The defense could use a little cleaning up, but the offense is clearly heading in the right direction. I really expect them to be ready to go for MSU. It's going to be a great game too.
for someone who has always kinda sorta made fun of the homerism of OSU fans in the draft, I really want to draft both Bosa and Braxton.
I can't help thinking Braxton is Tyrell Pryor 2.0 in the NFL? You see him as a QB or Receiver? It seems tough to change at the NFL - as Pryor found out.
Bosa gets a beast push sometimes on linemen - He just appears so freaking strong - he would be a great D add

1 huge difference is that Brax will have 1 year of experience. Plus, he's doing pretty well with his half year so far.

WR and Braxton doesn't have the problems that TP have. One thing that Braxton does, which will make him a great WR, is catch with his hands. I go to the games, so maybe I've missed it, but I've never seen Braxton catch it with his body. He frames the ball pretty well with his hands and keeps it away from his body. Braxton is just so elusive that I'm not even worried about how good his routes are now.
