If we score on this defense my hopes for the remainder of the season will sky rocket (I'm sure only to be let down with a 6 game losing streak to end the season).
But Manning plus that D, I just don't know. Plus, this team can never seem to string together many good games in a row, often laying an egg after a big victory.
Tough to predict a win here.

manning will look like manning. im hoping for a decent offense. kinda hard to hope for mccown to throw for 450 yards again.
just give it to the Duke and we might have a chance
I`m good with Baker... Playoffs is good enough for me.

Feeling weirdly optimistic about this game. Broncos offense has been hot steaming garbage, just like our defense. Our offense isn't predicated on having to push the ball down field a lot, so I feel like we could still chip away at them at times.
23-20 Browns.
you had a good run Hank.

I am hoping for a win like everyone else especially against Denver which is one of my hate teams. The problem is we never beat them and with their D being so good this year it's going to be tough. Our lifetime record against them is 5-22.

Denver hasn't been able to run at all. We can't stop the run at all. Based on history, I like the Broncos run game to get back on track against us.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Yes they're 5-0. They beat the Ravens, whom we beat, and the Lions, that can't buy a win. They also beat two teams with second year quarterbacks....and finally Alex Smith. Who finally has thrown a TD to a WR after an entire season of not doing so. How is that even possible in today's NFL?! So. Is their D playing well? Let's see if our 36 year old QB that seams to have caught fire, can light them up.

Tough to predict a win here. I was watching sportscenter? NFL channel? Somethin! They had a segment on "teams D's focusing on taking away the middle of the field against Manning" with some success. 16pts against the Raiders 23 vs the Vikings 24 vs the Lions 31 vs the Chiefs 19 vs the Ravens They're no doubt still undefeated but not that O juggernaut from the last few years. At least not yet. However, I sure would feel better seeing #23 in Brown and Orange out there.
Let this sink in..... On 12-31-23 it be will 123123. On the flip side, you can tune a piano but you can't tune-a-fish.

This defense can't stop anybody! However, I still think Peyton should have retired last year. His arm is gone and never really had a strong one to begin with. This game will be closer than some might expect.

Denver can't run block, Browns can't stop the run. Something's gotta give.
Browns always play Peyton Manning tough. In other words, Manning doesn't play well in Cleveland. In 5 games Vs Manning, the Browns have only lost by a total of 20 points and never more than a touchdown.
Manning has thrown for fewer touchdowns against the Browns than any other team. And there's only one team in the NFL where Peyton Manning has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns...and that's the Browns.
This is the game the Browns finally get to Manning. It won't be east, won't be high scoring or as high scoring in recent weeks, but it will be a win.
Browns 22 Broncos 18

1 or fewer turnovers and Browns win 20-16
2 or more turnovers and Browns lose.

Denver's offense has struggled, but so has our defense
Will our offense be able to score enough against their stout pass rush and secondary?
No.
Broncos 23 Browns 14

Browns beat a slow version of Peyton Manning and a Bronco's Offense ...

As bad as our defense is, I really think Denver's offense is just not clicking at all right now and Peyton is not in his typical form. I don't know why, but that offense is just... questionable.
With that said, I think we squeak another win here guys.

If we score 38 on their defense ... I'd be SO impressed

If we score 38 on their defense ... I'd be SO impressed LOL.. my thought too. I'm guessing that includes at least one defensive TD and probably a Benji punt return. Even then our offense has to put up 24.

The only chance we have is to "outscore" their offense, because it is apparent we have no D.

Eh, I think this one might be a stinker. with Haden out against D. Thomas, and us not able to stop the run against anyone, I'm guessing something like:
Denver 31 Cleveland 13
I just don't see a reason to think the D will suddenly play like they did against Tennessee or like last year against the Colts, which is what I think it would take to win.

I think the team will play well again. I just hope the defense is ready to play because we probably aren't scoring 30 points. They're really going to have to grind this out.
I'm pretty excited though. They have a real chance in front of them.

Despite never losing against Cleveland, Peyton Manning has been pretty mediocre against some not so good Browns teams.
5-0, 109 for 166 passing with 1124 yards, 2 TD, and 3 INT. He also has 36 yards rushing. We've only sacked him twice in those 5 meetings.
He's had a mediocre year thus far - does he continue or does he break out of it against us. And the opposite...does the Browns offense continue what we've done for the last 2 games or does the Denver D stop that?
I think these are the two main questions of the game. The 3rd would be, can either team run the ball?
As much as I want to say we'll win this game, I don't think that will happen. I think it will be close, and I think it will be lower scoring than our last 2 games.

We have not beaten Denver since October 1990 at Mile High. Kosar was our QB and Bud Carson was coach. We are due. Browns win 24-17.

Don't forget to hate a little more for these guys. Get yourselves off the field on D with a stop or two, move sticks and score, and we might have a good chance.
Do NOT try to outdrop PM! Get after him. And defense, get your loafing sled butts off the blocks and penetrate for a change.
WE owe these guys.

He's actually 6-0, you probably left out his lone game against the Browns as a member of the Broncos... 5 TD 7 interceptions. Fun fact, his 80.9 career rating versus the Browns is his worst rating of all the teams in the NFL. I was actually at the game that probably made those numbers look worse, 11-30-2008, Thanksgiving weekend. The Colts won 10-6. It was raining sideways. The only score was a defensive score. It was one of the worst football games I've ever watched. Manning had 2 picks and only completed 15 passes all day.

Thanks Sperg. I searched for the info and just copied/pasted without verifying. It was probably old. Regardless, we've had some "success" against him and I hope it continues...

In order to win this game we are going to have to do something different on O and especially D. on O I would try some screens or go long more than we have just to show Denvers D something other than what we have been doing. On D maybe we should blitz more or show a different scheme because as we all know what we have been doing isn't working. If I was O'neil I would sit down with my players and get their input as to what we are doing wrong and what we can do different. It can't hurt.
