Do you pay federal tax on your disability income? Or state tax? I don't know how it works. Only things I can find are military disability is not taxable. Is that correct?

*Sigh*
Bernie's idea to pay for these programs comes from reinstituting tax levels as they were under Eisenhower. Did every pay the full amount? No, but enough money will flow back in to pay for these great ideas. The other idea comes from tax dollars off of rampant wall street speculation.
He just wants to restore America as it was under a republican president from the 1950s. I'm not sure how that reeks of socialism? I guess it just goes to show how far right we've drifted as a country. enough money will flow in? So 18 trillion? How about we use that to pay off our debts instead of wasting it on giving everyone "free" stuff? Like I said, the government is full of waste. You want free college? Ok, after the government gets involved, that degree that may have been $40k will now cost $200k thanks to government bloat.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

you realize i paid taxes while working in car sales, right?
How long was that? If I remember right, you sold 12 cars in 2 weeks. If you remember correctly, I even congratulated you on that, because that literally is fantastic. I think you worked there for a few weeks prior to actually selling - doing training, right? So, you paid taxes......for.......a month? 2 months?
you realize i'm going to get a job after im done with school, right?
You realize just today you said you were moving back to Germany (hoping to) once you got your degree? I mean, you said it, so can I take you at your word?
don't outsmart yourself, you'll only get a headache.
Seems to me you're trying to outsmart someone, and you aren't getting lucky at it. You also stated, months back, that getting a job selling cars was just something to help raise some money so you and your family could move back to Europe. Was that true? Or not? You posted it. You've stated you are more than flush with cash - yet upside down on your car. Which is true? Honest question: How does your schooling work? Who pays for it? You, or the GI Bill? The gov't.? You may not take that as an honest question, but I truthfully don't know. But, you didn't answer the question: Do you pay taxes on your military disability? If you don't, no problem, that's how the system was set up. I don't have a problem with it. If you do pay taxes on your disability income, just say so.

i don't.
my issue is, i don't see how that's even relevant.
i said i MIGHT move back. might Tim, Might.
and that's my issue with you, from you constantly trying to use something against me to your screwed up private messages. You always try to throw something in my face, the same way you used my PTSD to slam me or make me seem like i'm some mentally unstable dude like you did in your PM's.
right now i simply don't trust giving you any more information. stop talking to me.

right now i simply don't trust giving you any more information. stop talking to me. So, you don't pay income tax. No harm no foul. That's how the system is set up. It was a simple question. You've stated multiple times you want to move back to Europe. Tonight was the most recent time. After you get your diploma. Again, that's fine. Screwed up private messages? Here's a mirror, you might want to look into it. Unstable? I don't know. Should I get into the threat you made - the insinuated threat - on facebook? Nah, I won't do that. And actually, until you made this statement, the very last post on page 5, " and of course Arch with a useless response.", I hadn't replied to you at all. So, really, perhaps you should stop talking about me?

Well that's not going to cover Sanders 18 trillion bill.

people get so scared of the word socialism and don't even realize the majority of programs we have in this country since FOREVER are socialist programs. Yes, socialism happens in degrees.. and we have been moving farther and farther in that direction for many many years. I get that many years ago we had high tax rates on the top .01%... we also had reasonably low unemployment, very few people receiving government assistance, and we had the greatest infrastructure in the world. We were not taking from the rich to just give it to the poor, we were taking from the rich to build our country, which was making everybody better off. And I know most people don't realize this, but the way the tax structure was set up back then, nobody paid anywhere close to what it says they were supposed to pay... I just wonder if the average democrat over the last 20 or so years is willing to admit that either, they were lying... or they were lied to... For a couple decades conservatives have said, "We are moving toward socialism"... and this got mocked and scoffed at and was usually met with the response, "Don't be silly, that will never happen here."... well it is. The long awaited build up is here. The democratic party is now casting a large part of its support behind a self-proclaimed socialist who wants a 90% tax rate, government run healthcare, government paid higher education, increased government input into how private business operates, and they want all of the same rights and privileges for illegal immigrants that American citizens get, etc.... And they plan to pay for it all by taxing the rich and successful businesses into oblivion So is it really that surprising that the right doesn't believe them when they say, "We don't really want your guns, we just want to put these safeguards in place" wink, wink, nod, nod.... 31 years ago I voted for Reagan (my first ever vote)... because of his stance for lower taxes, limited government, and defeating communism... it's heartbreaking to watch so many young people today cheering for 90% tax rates, government involvement in everything, and open socialism... To be great, there has to be winners and losers.. to ensure that everybody is a "winner", is to ensure that everybody is average... We are speeding toward average as fast as we can...

Moving to a better economic system that gives its citizens more and more opportunities and advantages instead of the archaic system we had before that? That's what you're heartbroken about?

I was struck by how out of place Senator Webb looked on that stage with the other four Dems. There was a time when he would have been considered a center-right democrat, but he was like a skunk at the garden party in that crowd. It seems like the Democrats have moved so far left that they may have left a lot of their working class base behind.

What I'm saying is that, imo, there used to be a place for people like Jim Webb in the Democrat party. I remember when Georgia's Democrat governor, Zell Miller broke ties with the Dems about 10-12 years ago; he said "I didn't leave the party, it left me.". Heck, John Kennedy was a center-right Democrat, but I doubt he could exist in that party today. Their whole message seems to be one of pro-abortion, climate change, and pandering to various groups' victim/grievance status.

All of these social issues are apolitical. Climate Change, BLM movement, gay rights, these are all apolitical. That's where Webb stands best. He's a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. He's important. He's also not that far from the left. However, the Republicans have politicized these social issues and have painted them as "ideas from the left". That's why politicians on the Right who believe in these apolitical movements cannot gain traction or support from the system. Because they are seen as "liberals" instead of the good people they are. Apparently in the Republican camp being "liberal" and being a "good person" are wildly different things. That also explains why people give you crap for going further right and not the liberals for going further left. You drew a line in the sand. That's why you guys are getting the brunt of any attacks.

Really? Which candidate mentioned Islamic Terrorism or radical Islam as a concern for this country? Which candidate did not mention FREE? If these people believe that empowerment is achieved through enabling, providing free things and continuous supression of the, poor, they are sadly mistaken. Consult Sherriff David Clark. He's got it going on.

Now that I think of it the Democratic Debates had 2 former Republicans and a Clinton who is either a Republican or Liberal depending on how the wind blows. O'Malley might be the only definitive leftist on the forums barring Bernie Sanders. And we're moving towards the left?

Really? Which candidate mentioned Islamic Terrorism or radical Islam as a concern for this country?
I'm fairly certain all of them did during the night. But, A) Democrats really don't value Israel as an ally that Republicans do. B) Democrats aren't warhawks like Republicans. It's no surprise these concerns aren't as big on the left than on the right. Just two different voter bases.

anyway, I was proud to be a Democrat on debate night. There was unity in discussion the issues, and how to go about it. nobody disrespected each other, no mud slinging, just more or less "your idea is good, but i think i have a better way to do it".
they debated the issues and how to solve them. it wasn't a reality show like the GOP debates. man am i proud of the candidates we got up there.

They're also not saying things that aren't wildly popular and many of their positions are apolitical. Promising to give the masses free stuff while making others pay for it is generally pretty popular. That's why politicians on the Right who believe in these apolitical movements cannot gain traction or support from the system. Because they are seen as "liberals" instead of the good people they are. Have you seen the vitriolic hatred being spewed at the right? The left is just about the most hate filled, angry, bitter, spiteful group of folks I've ever seen... as long as you are hating the right people. Apparently in the Republican camp being "liberal" and being a "good person" are wildly different things. I will restate what I've said above, do you even understand the hypocrisy in that statement?

I'll leave this here for the whole "greed" narrative played whenever socialism is villainized.

There was a time when he would have been considered a center-right democrat, but he was like a skunk at the garden party in that crowd. It seems like the Democrats have moved so far left that they may have left a lot of their working class base behind. So you're saying a former Republican doesn't espouse all the same thoughts that liberal democrats do? That's such a shocker. And this is what saddens me about the Democratic party. Not what they were, but what they have become.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

You should read up, DC. None of the right-democrats are saying to give anyone free stuff. Except the army. The duders on that stage want to tax and cut. As far as the Democrats saying some pretty mean things and are the most hateful, lol. All groups will have hateful people in it. I'm sure the democrats and Republicans are both equally reprehensible and hate-able. But if you insist on playing this game, I've witnessed at least 3 conservatives who have advocated nuking the Middle East asap and not one conservative has responded, "Ya know, man... That might be a bit too much." So as far as I'm concerned, via the scope of this forum, republicans have called for the deaths of millions of people while the liberals have not called for the death of anyone. That makes the Republicans more hateful, right? Maybe protecting the Earth, granting equal rights to gays, and becoming a less racist nation are spaces where moral ambiguity belong, to you. However, I view all of these as important issues of making someone a good person. I also want to make it important that I don't think these A) solely make someone good, but not being a racist, picking up your mess, and being fair are all pretty good quality traits B) Are exclusive to liberals. There are many Republicans who believe in one if not all three of these ideas. However, Republicans have politicized the idea of the idea. Climate change is seen as a liberal movement. Gay rights is a "progressive" movement, with 'progressive' as a synonym for 'liberal'. Finally, the Prison-Industrial-Complex and how to tackle that is apolitical, however with the Democrats agreeing with the BLM movement they have become signs of liberals. Especially in regards to overseeing cops and legalization of drugs. I digress, my comment was not hypocritical. Republicans (and Democrats) have politicized things that make someone a good person, according to me.

I'll leave this here for the whole "greed" narrative played whenever socialism is villainized.
[quote} Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” [/quote] That's a personal choice. I'd rather do that myself then have the government force it from me.

HILLARY HOAX-US POCUS? Clinton claims she saw trade bill, but head-scratching WH wonders: How? AP THE WHITE HOUSE IS SCRATCHING its head over Hillary Clinton's claim that she decided to oppose the Pacific-nation trade deal after 'looking at it' — a claim that is raising eyebrows because the final text of the deal has not yet been released, drawing this response from White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest: 'I noticed that, too.' Good old Hillary

Good old Hillary One of the politico reporters tweeted this during the debate lol. I'm surprised they didn't mention this on CNN (Although I think CNN is using their influence to support Hillary strongly and have engaged in questionable behavior as a result). Speaking of Clinton, I found it really interesting that she didn't say she wanted recreational weed use to be legal. I guess it's not polling that well?
