I'm wondering how many of you want to blow it all up.
Let me preface: Chill.
Couple of "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" moments today: -The two point moment. I see both ends. -The pitch. It works if it's a clean hand off.
-TJ Ward showed why we got rid of him. Hits well, but still a total liability in coverage
-The line gave up at the end of the game. McCown may or may not have held onto it too long.
Boy we had about 5 GOOD chances to win this game. This one hurts even though I expected a loss.
We had em.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Let me first by saying that our Defense showed up today.
yes, we still can't stop the run. but other than that head scratcher of the bomb to sanders for the TD, our defense had 3 INT off of manning, one for a pick 6.
McCown does not give us the best chance to win. I understand McCown played good the last 3 games, but let's be honest here:
we are 2-4. the guy had 3 turnovers today. the fumble, ill give him a pass the defender was unblocked, but those 2 int's sucked.
he holds the ball too long, he doesn't make good decisions. that INT Talib got.....wtf was that?
And then Pettine........this mofo. horrible coaching today. horrible management. He lost us this game.
man we had the broncos BEAT. we could've been that team to knock down an undefeated. but we couldn't get out of our own way on offense.
man i'm just disappointed. I was expecting a blowout loss today. hell, even a close, well played game i would've been ok.
but the way we lost today just.....man....
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
The team played a heck of a game, but the choices the coaches made are questionable to say the least.
The 2pt conversion attempt, and the play calling after Mingo's interception leave me scratching my head. Gosh, we needed 10 yards at most to attempt the FG in OT. A pitch to a guy who hasn't played all season?
We didn't sack Peyton one time. He is a shadow of himself. We made NO EFFORT to get to him.
I do not want to blow it "all" up at all. But Flips play calling on that last series was horrid and cost the team a shot at a good win or respectable loss. In the situation we were handed by the pick, you run the ball three straight times right up the middle, gain or no gain then try to kick the long FG. Period. Can't say I am surprised about the loss. This team is not afraid to lose badly. They are however afraid to win or lose good. Those are my only thoughts.
Einstein could not even fathom the mathematical improbabilities of the Browns woes.
Not sure why I am so angry. ...I knew before the season we were not going to the playoffs. ..I knew after one season pettine and farmer are not the answer. ..so why am I upset?

Because your heart's in it. Not a bad thing.
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...
Will one win make a difference in the scheme of the year? No.
But I'm still hurt by this loss.

Because that's what the Browns do.
Other teams may lose a lot but they don't build you up over and over only to throw it away.
Still trying to understand why we went for a 2 point conversion after taking a 20-16 lead.
So they need 2 FG's to tie? A TD still puts them ahead. It doesn't really make sense. THAT extra point gave us a chance to win with a FG even if they scored a TD. Just can't understand the rational. What were they thinking?

We played tough against a good team and showed a lot of heart coming back like we did those few times. It does get old though. A win today against an undefeated team, a team we are now 5-23 lifetime against and getting back to .500 would have been huge. Instead it's same old same old. It hurts.

Kick the extra point, force Denver to make the 2pt conversion when they score the TD.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
coaching is usually a big part of winning and losing close games..I will say outside of McCown individual responsibility from the players showed up..they tried, with the exception of Randy Stark man that dude sucks..We don't have coaching consistently putting our players in the best situations, and when it starts costing games, you have to change. We need to trade some of these bums on the front 7 for some pass rush help, not like they are stopping the run anyways, but if you can't stop the run, or get to the QB, you aren't going to win.
McCown is who majority thought he was...a couple lucky games against bad defenses don't hide who he truly is when he's asked to be the guy. He looked lost. 50% percent completion and throwing 40 times will never get it done...Our backs were picking up tough yards, yet we let a future car salesman throw 40 times. Flips playcalling was just as bad as the McCown decision making...you need to realize this isn't San Jose State and the pitch play rarely works in the NFL and its def. not something you try when you are trying to pick up 10=15 yards for the GW fg..so you lose 3 yards, now you let a QB who's decision making is suspect at best try to throw you into range.
Too many blown opportunities on both sides, but for once the defense I think did enough to win with the exception of getting to manning which ultimately cost them.. Manning is in self preservation..he gives sacks away cheap, just be in the vicinity of him and he's going to tuck and go down..
Not much good to say about this game, maybe if we hadn't given the game away and just went toe to toe with the superior team and lost, that you can accept but to be handed the game over and over and not put it away, that just makes you a bad football team.

i wish we could bring NY media beat writers in to ask the staff questions instead of the horrible things that pass off as writers in cleveland..This staff would be crying themselves to sleep in NY..but no we have idiots like MKC and Pluto that only ask the questions PR liason gives them ..I want someone to stir the pot and see what floats

You wouldn't know good sports writing from trash. The "New York media" enjoy tabloid style pieces.
Pluto's a fantastic talent.
lol..ok..pluto writes with kid gloves and whatever he's paid to write by teams..not once is he objective..He used to be good until he came to the plain dealer. I do know good writing from trash obviously, as cleveland media is trash. It appears you're the clueless one

This game was won by the players and lost by the coaching. Not kicking an eminently makeable 47yd kick on the second possession of the 1st quarter was one of the dumbest calls I've ever seen by a coach.
Having said that, he needs to learn that these types of mistakes (like the time out mistake last week) will cost us games.
The players won it, the coach lost it. He needs to own that.

The loss was on the two lines today - O-line did a terrible job of blocking, and d-line go zero pressure. Hard to win when you're losing the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
The 2 pt conversion was a terrible call. To go up by 6? Terrible.
McCown may have stayed in there a little long on a couple plays, and the first interception was terrible. He was mediocre.
I think overall the coverage was pretty good today, with exception of the two drops by Thomas. Even the long TD wasn't bad coverage. I think Desir played pretty well overall.
Unfortunately, there is only one end. There are no two ends to that decision. It's about as black and white as you can get.
The most disappointing thing to me was Pettine didn't own up to it in his presser. Passed it off as it's easy to say that now when you know the rest of the movie ...blah, blah, blah.
He's either not very intelligent or not practicing what he preaches about accountability.
Either answer is very disappointing.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
It's so easy to second guess plays that fail after the fact.
He bet on his own team. He bet aggressively and confidently on his own team and it didn't pan out. I for one get why he went for two and support the decision.

Please explain. I get going for two when you are up by 5. I get it when you are up by 1. I get it when you are up by 8. Maybe even 7.

Extra point puts you up 5, 2 pt conversion puts you up 6.
Absolutely no reason to go for 2
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no
