I actually don't mind Schwartz. He's a middle of the pack RT IMO ... personally, I don't like Gilbert, Johnny, Mingo, Richardson, Weeden ... you know, the guys who were drafted high who don't give us crap right now

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Most advanced metric sites say he's the top RT.

Schwartz will get us a great compensatory pick. So exciting.

you think quality players just replace themselves? Sometimes you have to use an extra 4th round pick tacked onto the end of the round. Replace a 2nd round pick with a 4th round pick. That means the player will be twice as good. Simple multiplication, man.

Schwartz's pass blocking is 5 times better than last year and his kick step looks about as good as Thomas's right now.

Just wait for a game when he gives up two sacks, then some of our ....ummmm .. forcing myself to be nice.... will be screaming that he has always sucked.

Thomas looks like he false starts every single snap with that kick step.

I noticed that as well, seems to have really worked on it and firing off the snap to get into his set. He still struggles mightily at times when working on an island...However I think most of the pass pro struggles this year is because McCown literally reads an entire book behind the line of scrimmage and waits far too long lol...Shwartz looks much improved...Greco looks like Greco, Mack is getting alot better lately (hopefully right to pro bowl form again) Bitinio is struggling... Which surprises me as he has the most ideal position in the NFL (Playing beside the best LT and one of the top 5-6 centers in the league)

Schwartz is an excellent RT.

Being an excellent RT is not the same as being a great LT. There are few RT in the NFL who can combine pass blocking and run blocking as well as Schwartz can.

I said this early in the offensive line prediction thread I believe around the second or third game, but I thought he had came in and been playing at a high level this season. This guy has been, from what plays I have actually just keyed on him alone, exceptional at pass and run blocking. I've had my negative jabs at him over the years, but this by far, IMO, has been his best season so far.

I never thought Schwartz was terrible, but I do think he has elevated his game this year. It is why it is it is difficult for Erving to start. To think Greco is the weakest link, Browns offensive line has come a long way since Mangini's first year.

Amazing, discussing how good/bad a right tackle is when the team has no skill position players!!!!!! The fans are slowly thinking like the front office, I guess that's what happens when drafts and free agency sucks for years and years.

Every time I looked, Erving was playing at RG. What's up with Greco?

Dallas thought this way too then they fixed their OL.

Dallas might not be the best example to make your point. They have lost 4 in a row since they lost the qb and wr. LOL

Yeah, but you don't plan to lose your starting QB. And if you do your team is usually screwed no matter what.

ahh the tale of Drafting Ol's and Cb's... and 1 playoff appearance in the last 5 season.

I think what is clear is that people don't know how good Ol and CB play, if not they wouldn't rank perennial losers at the top of the class.

Browns and Dallas are sure proofs of that.

Mitchell Schwartz had a BAD game yesterday. No way around that.

He's not spectacular and he's not terrible.

That said, he's here and I sure as heck don't want to upgrade that position via the draft. Free agent or leave it be . . .

I agree. And that was pretty much my point. bugs was insinuating that building the OL was key in Dallas. I agree that their OL has "helped" improve that team, but if you lose the QB, you are doomed. And I wonder how many people wo0uld debate that losing Bryant was huge?

you said it before tons of times bro, without a true #1, teams won't respect the pass most of the time, and stack the box.

Witten has lost a step, but it was hidden up until now because you can't double witten and bryant.

I think in the case of Dallas, it's more the QB. Weeden can't hit anything. I dunno if you watched some cowboys games last year, but Weeden had to fill in for Romo, while Dez was still healthy, and it just didn't work.

Well when you lose two pro-bowlers you tend to regress as a team in general...

We played the best D-line in football this week and the #3 D-line last week. Don't over-react.
