When USC decides they want to play, they are very good.

I like Paxton too. But I'm not sure he'll be good or that he'll be a good fit for this team. Brian Hoyer really showed us that we can excel with a game manager. Cook and Sack can give you that. Paxton can be good, but I really worry about gun slingers whose arm power makes everyone shift the offensive focus. These players rarely workout when put in these situations. They often get overwhelmed and drown. That's what worries me about him. Players like these often do best when put in a situation to sit. Like Philip Rivers, Big Ben, et al. That's what makes me nervous about Paxton and his type (Blaine, Tannenhill, <30k other first round busts).

what a finish at Georgia Tech. FSU goes down.

Utah getting smoked.

If USC didn't have their dumb hiccups every year, their talent is very, very good

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Ben didn't sit but a few weeks though.

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM
my two cents...

GT with a Blocked-Kick-6, amazing!

I don't think Toledo will move up in the polls. FSU and Utah will drop, but not enough that Toledo will pass them. And while TA&M will drop into the 20's, Ole Miss will jump into the mid-teens.

Stanford ran a play with eight offensive linemen.

Ben, like Tom Brady, is really interesting. Meaning to sit them for awhile to let them develop, but Tommy Maddox and Charlie getting injured every game helped Big Ben see the field. That said, they still let him manage the game just like the Pats did Brady. I think just letting your rookie QB game manage is what makes them the best.

I always understood that if a blocked kicked goes beyond the line of scrimmage, and hits the ground, it was a dead ball?

Interestingly, despite Utah being ranked 3rd in the country, USC was the Vegas favorite.

For those of you who like to gamble, This doesn't happen often. I don't follow the Vegas lines closely but I have only seen something like that 3 maybe 4 times in the past 20 years. Every time you ask yourself: how in the world is USC favored over Utah? And every time the favored team wins what many would consider an upset. I believe it's a case of someone knows something. I don't know if I can encourage you to bet on the lower ranked favorite but I can tell you the betting on the significantly higher ranked underdog is a sucker bet.

I wouldn't say I'm a U fan, I just teach here. Al was a terrible coach who was holding the program back. Him being gone is a relief that the program can finally start to rebuild.

UCF I am invested in. O'Leary had done wonderful things for the program and truly does deserve his "retirement". This season is just a disaster and he has been winding down the past couple of years anyways. It was widely speculated that this would be his last year before the season even began anyways. Things aren't writing out so he stepped down to let the process start now.

I always thought that too.. is that just an NFL rule? I know the kicking team can't pick it up but maybe it's just not to your advantage usually to pick it up because it's better to get the ball back at the spot?

Overall pleased with what I saw from Maryland's interim coach.. he plays a lot more loose and let's the kids play a lot more than Edsall ever did. Still have a QB that turns the ball over 4 or 5 times every freakin' game.. but the team overall looked a lot better.

Actually, Toledo dropped because Houston jumped them. Still, #20 isn't bad. Next Tuesday will be HUGE (Home against NIU on National TV).

Ed Reed wants to coach the University of Miami. That would be so perfect.

Imagine Ed "Freaking" Reed walks onto your high school campus or into your living room if you live in Miami. You'd have to go to The U.

I mean, having Reed on the staff as a recruiter, sure..

But just being good at football doesn't mean you can be a head coach..

He would have to have a great staff, and then hes just basically a mascot..

How Philly's season plays out will be interesting, Kelly would do fine in the ACC.

Right, if that's all it took, every college coach would be an alum that made it big in the NFL.

I don't see Kelly getting fired, but if he did I would that USC would be first in line. And maybe Texas depending on Charlie Strong's fate.

There have been a ton of rumors being floated, but one that is gaining traction is to bring back Butch Davis and Ed Reed in some form of grooming combo. Granted, even The Rock's name was mentioned, which he turned down.

Right now Butch seems to be the favorite, with a lot of people also hoping for Tom Herman but I doubt he'd leave Houston after 1 year. Especially since Miami doesn't pay well compared to others.

Herman will be somewhere else next fall or the fall after. It's the part of college football that sucks. Schools like Houston find something nice and they lose it before it ever really gets going.

Herman would be awesome at Miami. To be able to utilize the talent that they can recruit down there? What a fit.

There's a crap ton of top 10 teams on bye this week. OSU, Bama, Sparty and Baylor off the top of my head.
