This is great news! The kid seems to genuinely want to be in Cleveland, which is rare but extremely refreshing.
Has anyone heard/read anything regarding which position he'll be shooting for come training camp, right guard or right tackle?

I haven't really heard Kelso.
I would think he'd be shooting for the RT spot and he would be a key depth guy at G and C. I believe he holds the versatility that would allow us to shuffle the line around should a key injury arise.

The "coaches" might be planning for him to play some center this year. It all depends on Mack's rehab.

I figure the staff will work him out and pick his position for him. He may not start right away. The coaches may want him to work as a backup for little while. It depends on him picking it up in time to start the season better than one of the existing starters. That's a real revelation, I know.

I haven't heard that Duke has signed yet
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Big Erving! Glad to see he's inked... get into training camp and beast it! I'm sure he'll get first-team reps at probably all the positions really.

Who the heck is Campbell...oh the SS kid from Brain school...Well only one that should provide impact this year is Johnson...get him done and the ones playing hard to get for some guaranteed money...sign or see ya, it will be hard to get a roster spot if they miss a day of camp...the odds increase on them not making the team.

Our first round pick is the one laying on his belly. Any guesses on which guy he was supposed to block? (Hint: It's the guy standing ready in where the hole was supposed to be waiting for a tackle.) /cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/4204215/off2c.0.png)

Just curious... where was he lined up on that play? i noticed more than one snap where they lined up Erving OUTSIDE the tight end since they only had two TEs active. They even had him run a seam route on one play

Our first round pick is the one laying on his belly. To get a more complete understanding on why, is it possible to post a few pics that occurred earlier in the sequence?

Yep he must of Tripped and fell what can you do. It doesn't signify his prowess as a blocker. But what it does show is how perfect everything has to be for a run play to be successful. On slip up (literally) can blow it. But this is the kind of Power Blocking Zone blocking scheme I would like to see ore of.
JT going after his and that he shoved to the ground, his back is turned from the hole. I think Erving came from a TE position cause 77 Greco is in. Definitely looked like a good play.

Thanks, cfrs, that helped. Great blocking by all except for Erving's whiff. Perhaps he was tripped - difficult to tell...

Whether it was a whiff or a bad break, it looked like it was a good call by Flip which could have resulted in positive yardage...

I believe he can be a probowl center or guard but he doesnt have the feet to be on the outside.

To me it looks like the Defensive player Thomas is about to block and Erving get their feet tangled as they go by each other and both seem to fall to the ground.

Looks like he tripped over 97 / Dray's man. I don't know if he's supposed to chip the DT before he went out to pick up the LB, but you can see he's got a really wide stance there coming out of the snap... like Larry Craig wide.
Could have been a big gain. Bummer.

A lot of our running plays has these ONE breakdown incidents - I've seen the FB go to the wrong place most of which would have been big gains.
Wide Stance, that is how they are teaching them these days. If you look at all our OL (not TE) they have very similar stance. I do note that Ervings left foot is just a slightly wider than the others I think he was cheating to push off to the right. His problem (technique wise) is he didn't make a First step n moving the left for the 2nd step. It appears that the left foot was what tripped him up. With Dray doing the Tripping and/or the DE/OLB that Dray had.
jmhobservation
didn't follow him during the game I noticed he was in there one time as for not noticing usually that is a good sign he isn't messing up.
