I'm hoping that this is an easy one...............

I purchased a computer last year from an older fellow in Cocoa Beach that he had built himself (he no longer does this). This computer came with dual hard drives of the "front load/tray" variety (sorry for the lack of computer lingo). He took my hard drive and transferred everything on it to another using a "ghost" program. Now I would like to do the same with another new hard drive. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do this???

I am not the smartest on computers...but know a little (enough to screw it up... )

well alot of different ways, depending on skill. easiest way, if its just files you want to transfer, is just slave the old drive and set the new one as master, then just transfer using explorer. Or, if you have a USB HD enclosure, you can just transfer it that way. The ghosting option, is to get a program such as Norton Ghost to do it. Depends if you just want files or you are trying to ghost a whole OS image

ok, like i said, i know a lil.how do you set slave and master and then copy to the slave? I have never done this. I basically want the whole thing to go from one to another drive...the whole OS.........thanks in advance

ok, then what you;ll want to do is get Norton ghost. Use something like partition magic to resize the old drive to just larger than the used space. Use Fdisk on the new drive to set partition size the same as the one you created on the old drive. Use norton ghost to create a Image of the old drive. You can do this simply by doing duplicate disk
