J/C...
1. McCown seems to have injured his shoulder. So JM might start without any controversy involved. Hell, JH with one hand is calling the Cleveland Clinic trying to pull strings to get the MRI over-read for additional pathology. With the other hand he has Poppa Manziel down in Texas on the phone giving updates. That is one of the underlying problems with Cleveland no matter who starts at QB...

We are not building a future with Josh at QB. While I'm now firmly in the start Johnny camp now (admittedly probably for different reasons than most), what you said here is actually pretty telling. Is it possible that the coaching staff IS trying to build toward the future by playing a guy that works within the system rather than freelances at every opportunity? Is it possible that they're trying to build the rest of the team's knowledge of the system and are afraid that Manziel's lack of fundamentals could retard their growth? I doubt that's what's happening because the league is way too much of a win now proposition, but man, wouldn't it be nice if we were thinking that far ahead?

Police say Manziel, who spent time in alcohol rehab this offseason Is the guy breaking news or is he guilty of being lazy of not getting the facts right? Lazy

Yeah. If he really had a scoop on Manziel's specific treatment, he wouldn't have casually mentioned it in an article where the information about being investigated had already been shared 10,000 times.
I guess there was another option. Deceit. It makes Johnny look worse to be drinking if he was in specifically for alcohol treatment. It's insane how many of these reporters are attacking the kid.

Now, that this is out of the way and he's clear....can we now announce him as our starter on Sunday?

Start Austin Davis for the win! We have to see what we have in this guy and Manziel has already had some playing time.

Well, if guys fumble like our guys did, if they drop balls like they did, it won't matter who's throwing it. Also, if the D doesn't tackle better.. The results will be the same

A little more info: 'Report: Manziel won’t be disciplined for domestic incident'http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...estic-incident/Posted by Mike Florio on October 29, 2015, 11:02 AM EDT On Wednesday night, the NFL met with Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in connection with a domestic incident that occurred earlier this month. By Thursday morning, a decision had been made — and in turn leaked to the league’s in-house media conglomerate. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Manziel won’t be disciplined for whatever it was that did or didn’t happen between Manziel and his girlfriend. It’s not a surprise, for reasons unrelated to the decision by authorities in Avon, Ohio to not charge Manziel with any crime. Even under the league’s fairly low burden of proof for determining that a player violated the Personal Conduct Policy, there likely wasn’t enough evidence to determine that Manziel did anything wrong. The key likely became his girlfriend’s inconsistent statements to police. Given that, not long after the incident came to light, Manziel’s girlfriend was publicly taking the position that everything had been resolved, it’s unlikely that she would have told the league that Manziel assaulted her in any way — assuming that she even cooperated with the league. None of this makes the application of the league’s new Personal Conduct Policy any easier to understand from the perspective of the fans or the media, because the league won’t be embracing transparency when it comes to investigations that don’t result in any type of discipline. Regardless, in this specific case, the league apparently won’t be doing anything.

This last game was really the only game in which our receivers have not performed at a pretty high level. These guys run good routes. They are fantastic with run after catch. They are getting open and making plays. They also do a great job of blocking well other than Benji lol

Can't come up with any reason to keep Manziel on the bench any longer.
All you guy's points about the ability to go over the top, helping the running game, seeing what we have, on and on....
I've been patient.
Now, I don't care what Pet thinks he knows, thinks, says, etc...

They are getting open and making plays. They also do a great job of blocking well other than Benji lol It's a fine group full of complementary receivers. They all have NFL talent. They're good between the 20s, but they simply aren't good RZ targets and that's already been a problem without the run game to punch it in. Who do you throw a fade to? The only one close to that was the butt catch to Barnidge. He's the best RZ target and that's a sad testament of lack of talent in that group.

But if we put Austin Davis in, our defense will tackle better, so it should be a wash.

I don't think many think Manziel is going to fix anything. We need to see what he can do so we know what to do in the draft next year. He is a first round pick, Davis is not. Maybe at some point if/when Johnny fails the same logic will kick in for Davis. Until then, we need to see what we have, I don't understand how people do not see that.

It was the Benjamin that through me off....lol I get it another Benjamin (who is he on Panthers?)WR's who we opted out of in order to draft Top 10 defensive players who can't tackle?Julio - Who did we take - I'm drawing a blank I know we trade out of the slot. He's and excellent WR but until this season Atlanta never did anything with his prowess actually a lack of D kept them back, M Evans - I know the team who draft him got although to the worst record in football with that investment and now with an overall #1 pick QB still with only 2 wins like us, Watkins - he's turning to be a nightmare with Buffalo, Beckham - amazing talent and best hands I've seen...but his numbers were incredible but not the Giants numbers also I have a bad feeling he is wreckless and will be injured a lot in his career, Benjamin - again not sure of the talent don't see him enough to even know for sure what team he is on.
For what ever reason we are losing Its not because of our WR Corp. Hey it would be nice to get a stud. I'd would continue to go for better defensive players. That is what will help this team the most right now.

The thing that sticks in my mind about Garcia, and I could be wrong, is that he was pretty good for only a few games. Not many.
Wow, that list is depressing.

Completely agree... except it's not a lack of talent in that group, it's just a lack of God given physical height. They are about as talented as they can be based on their physical size. Farmer has done much to be criticized but this is his biggest failing in my opinion... of all the good big WRs to come out in the last 2 years and all of the draft picks that we've had. The fact that we don't have one is borderline negligence.
