Has there ever been a more checked-out team than UCF this year? Kiel is 9/9 240 yards and 4 TDs, throwing to receivers with nobody within 5 yards of them. 42-0 last time I checked.

Wow, Michigan snuck one out there There were at least 3 dumb coaching mistakes in the final 10 seconds or so. My god. Why not spike the ball on first down at the goal if you wanted to make a bunch of shifts?

Yep, what a turd of a coach.
I kinda hate saying that as a former coach, but man, that guy made terrible decisions throughout the game and cost his team what should have been a huge victory.

Wow. What a huge call in the ND/Temple game. Probably the right call, but a huge call nonetheless.

I don't think so. I've seen them on NBC this year. There are always a few games a year on other networks.
Not positive, but I think that's right.

Did ND lose its NBC deal? No, I believe ABC/ESPN has the rights for the American Conference (or whatever it is called) and this time around it fell to ESPN (I'm sure before the season nobody saw this as a big game, so it's to ESPN's benefit) This has been a pretty fun game to watch

Miami just beat Duke with an 8 lateral kickoff return for TD to end the game.. So they called a block in the back and then picked it up after the review? I didn't think that was reviewable. 9 minute review, lol.

I think if it's called, yes you can review where they actually hit them.
You can't obviously go back and look to see IF there was one

You can't obviously go back and look to see IF there was one I don't know if I have ever seen it. You would think you would see that quite often since it's such a common flag on a return play.

Wow, Michigan snuck one out there Yep, they could have run at least 3 plays if not 4.... If they thought the sneak was the play, run that as soon as the clock starts, it doesn't work, use your timeout with about 14 seconds, run 2 more pass plays, if you haven't scored, kick the FG..

I really dislike Notre Dame. It's not hard to do so. It is a nice place to see a game though. The fans at the games are a bit different than the fans you run into (who are also Yankee/Laker/etc fans) who think ND is a perennial powerhouse. I don't like their coach though. He's a good coach, but he acts like a complete moron on the sidelines. I think that's why his teams are always fragile.

Yes, Duke got hosed. I will never say that about their basketball team (in part because they never do, they are the hosers, not the hosees)...
It's hard to believe that the officials took NINE MINUTES to review that play at the end and still got it so painfully wrong.

They forgot to add the line at the end stating that the outcome of the game would be overturned, and that Duke would be awarded the victory. Without it, this is window-dressing.

then what do you do about any other bad call during the course of the game that could have impacted the outcome? I think the standard would be based on whether the bad call(s) or noncall(s) did, in fact, impact the outcome, not whether it could have. In this case its not really even debateable that the referees caused Duke to lose a game that they had won, seeing as how it happened on the last play of the game and it flipped the outcome unfairly. I don't see it as opening some Pandora's Box of disputed outcomes if you have well-trained referee crews.

I don't see it as opening some Pandora's Box of disputed outcomes if you have well-trained referee crews. I guess I do. You take a TD off the board in the second quarter and team is forced to kick a FG because of a call and it turns out that call was wrong... team loses by 2.. did you IN FACT impact the outcome? Every call (or non-call) impacts the way the rest of the game plays out... by your way of thinking, the only call that can be used to actually overturn a game is the last call of the game. And I'm sure that Miami could work backwards and say, had it not been for THIS bad call here earlier in the 4th quarter, we would have never been in a position to need that scramble drill return..

I agree that its a fine line, but I still think the circumstances of this sequence of events warrant the overturning of UM's win. It wouldn't have to set any precedence, if the ACC doesn't want it to. Any future disputed outcomes could be dealt with on their own relative merits based on those particular circumstances. If its as obvious and egregious as this one was, then they should be overturned too. Like with replay, its about "getting it right".
