Well, Farmer is right. His Wides as used affect each game very little and too seldom.

A game plan can't be too solid if it higes on "taking what the defense gives you" as opposed to engineering something that makes them adjust after hurting them . We seem to put a premium on trickery and repeat pointless plays week after week. Sometimes I feel it is just practice for us.

You know, for the most part I agree with you. But I do take exception with one of your points.

Now I do understand that there are teams that impose their will on their opponents, so I do actually see your point. But I think this begs to question, do we have the playmakers to follow that strategy? If you look at our run production, or lack there of, our lack of pressuring opposing QB's, the lack of stopping the run, I believe you may begin to see my point.

We simply aren't a team at this stage who has the playmakers to impose our will. To me, at this point, the best thing we can do is look for mismatches and weaknesses of our opponents and try to exploit those things.

I believe if you look around the league, most if not all coaches approach games this way. Hiding your own weaknesses and exploiting the weaknesses of the opposing teams is a very sound way of approaching a game plan. Unless you're a team like New England, you just about have to.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I agree with what you said and what we see around the league. Your point is made with me and it is football. My post was pointing out that we don't seem to exploit weakness. Several brutal teams lately. I was trying to say that we are not engineering mismatches and match ups like I think we can to get more out of what we have. And whatever we have tried tot do, week after week, doesn't use parts of the field attacked. We seem able to return to low yardage and loss plays a bunch, more than success warrants. Not raging, but some vertical speed, digs, screens are worth a try, just to change tendencies which can be engineered.

Might be hoping. Not looking for a perfect offensive world. I believe our mix can be more aggressive than the run, run, pass pattern rut in which we have been stuck too often. Bad in the red zone, so roll the dice farther out. Might need to shift philosophy more than we have.

But Bard, a few posters have "observed" that we are passing too much at the expense of the run. And yes, there has been, to my eyes at least, a shift in the last few games from what we professed at the start of the season, which was "run first". Wouldn't it be a wonderful opportunity if a bunch of us could sit down with Flip for a short while and pick his brain...

Pastor, thought it was funny on Drennan the other day, a caller asked Drennan what Bowe had on Farmer as he was such a high price bench warmer. Things that make you go HMMMM!

You know it's bad when Pastor makes that type of comment. I agree 100%, I'm not sure how he could have done anything in tryouts/the physical he had to take before signing to warrant 9mil when he can't even beat out a bunch of no name WRs.

Pet cant release Bowe but he can control who plays on Sunday. I see Bowe on the bench as a real shot at Farmer's roster as much as anything.

I said it before and I'll say it again; put him out there and let him play let him sink or swim. We are paying him to play, we are losing anyway what can it hurt. Put it all on him and tell him to show us what he's got.

I have been critical of Pet, but man, you seem to be overdoing it.

The worst coach in the league? Can you tell us why you think that?

Bizarre game management? I don't think it's been great, but bizarre? Could you provide several examples that prove your assertion?

What makes you say the O is the most inept in the league? I think they have produced much better results than most of us thought. There isn't much talent on that side of the ball. What did you expect? The Packers?

Okay,Okay Vers I admit that my passion for the team may have put me on a rant and I may have been to critical but,for one I only follow the browns and they are never prepared properly for their opposition never, also every game his clock management is suspect, and going for 2 in the Denver game was stupid and the play calling after the Mingo int was bizarre. You are correct about the Off.I may not have thought that out as I should and no I never expected the packers but I didn't expect the coach to be as clueless either

I think if Bowe fails to show up this season at all, Farmer takes a hit. If he does eventually contribute (even a game or two) Farmer gets a pass and it will be blamed on injury comeback or system difference...

Personally I cut him and bring Pryor back for a look. He is still young with something to prove and has a big chip on his shoulder. Not to mention he is an athletic freak of nature.

That's an idea! We need to trade Bowe for Matt Jones!

I agree with this, which is why I have doubts that Bowe will play much this week. Can you imagine the questions to Pettine IF Bowe has a good game. He did have 60 receptions for 754 yards last year for KC. Those numbers would pretty good right now. Also he is a bigger target than we have out there now.

j/c...all I know is that Bowe has been pretty much injured are working back what seemed to have been a pretty bad Hamstring pull/tear. I would like to see him get back into the swing of things and actually see his value before criticizing our FO for the move. I mean so far it hasn't been good but he has been slowed down with an unseen injury and we have a distinct depth chart drawn up where until now with Hawkins down he pretty much didn't have a break through.

Just wish to see.

Bowe actually had a nice catch tonight for a 1st down, where he dragged a couple of defenders over the mark to make. He had 3 of Manziel's 15 caught passes tonight.

I'm not going to claim that he's been a great addition .... but he did show up somewhat tonight.

The money is already spent. Personally, I hope we get a great return on that investment. I would rather that than him getting paid for nothing.

Bowe had 3 catches for 31 yards, so 10 per.
You need that big target. There's a reason McCown only throws it to Barnage. I think Bowe has value and hope to see more of him.
And why again did we cut Pryor?

The trade deadline has passed.

Bowe will be cut in the off-season and never play again.

Sadly, he still looked better than Taylor Gabriel last night ... WOW

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

He should get to play more often. Some coaches take "the best players play" too far and to a fault and Pettine is one. At least give him a real, legitimate chance to suck rather than this 2 plays per game stuff.

I'm not a Bowe fan, but I liked his effort in the 4th qtr last night on the play where he fought for the 1st down. Our small WR's are not capable of that....

He's bigger than the midgets. The midget Gabriel dropped 2 passes because they were thrown hard. And the Benjamin midget almost got his head torn off.

Benjamin almost always gets his head torn off when he goes across the middle the guy is made of glass. He is fast and can burn a db from time to time but he rarely will win a contested pass.

Finally nice to see him make a couple catches for a change.

As YTown said, the one play was a nice effort play to get the first down.

Wouldn't one have to wait until the end of the season to do the math on that one?

No, one wouldn't have to wait. One COULD wait, if one wanted to see the yearly per catch money. But one could also ask the season to date per catch money.
