Seems like the opposing teams gameplan is throw it to whoever Joe is covering. He can't stop a box of wheaties at this point.

I don't think it has anything to do with adderall.

I think it's two reasons:

--He doesn't work on his game.
--He lacks the inner confidence a CB must have to bounce back from a bad play.

Tramon Williams is a true professional. You can tell the way he plays that he works on his game, studies film, and is able to bounce back from a bad play.

I hope we trade Haden or he gets demoted. He's a liability and he hurts the team's chance to win.

I did say during the game that we are tougher without him out there. He is now a go to for clutch conversions. Turn, chase, hold, slip, whiff on a diving tackle. Not just a rarity, though I wish it was. Liability might sum it up. Lack of pressure adds to all this.
He has a better game than we have seen IMO.

I think he played his best when he was amped. Also, I think now that he can't hold like he used to (since the refs enforce that a lot more now) he's just not the same anymore.

We have bigger issues than Haden...Gilbert being one of them...Every team would hop on a chance for Haden...He's been banged up alot lately though and I agree his press is lazy he loses more races than he should and he hasn't been playing at the level he once played at...but lets list players on D whom aren't playing at the level expected...

Whitner
K. Williams
Gilbert
Kruger
Kirksey
Robertson
Mingo
Starks
Bryant

And we have rookies struggling in Shelton, Meder, Orchard, and Cooper...

Makes you wonder...poor coaching...poor scheme...poor selection

That is what amazes me about the trade Joe Thomas talk.....why is Haden not on that list?? He really is the most overrated guy on the team, and I can't remember who gave Joe that contract but that doesn't look good in hindsight.

He was very good 2 years ago, but has been average pretty much his entire career......and has never reached the level of Revis/Sherman.

Joe is falling down, getting turned around, playing with crap technique and always trailing his defender... at this point, playing Desir or even Gaines if he can get in there is a more secure option.

Joe is totally outta his zone. One of the worst corners this season.

Can we get Ray Horton back? Don't understand why we got rid of that guy in the first place.

Poor decision making from the owner. Firing someone after only one season sets a bad precedent around the league one would think, no?

I said this several weeks ago...move him to FS and Gipson to SS.

He talks too much and never appears "ready" at the moment before the snap.

FS or bust.

I like this idea. He isn't close to his man often, can't hold, stop giving up TD's and long conversions. Won't tackle well consistently. I want to keep him, but we need better than he is giving us all season so far.

Haden isn't going anywhere. His contract keeps him on the team. Let's just hope that he gets healthy and plays at a high level again. He is only 26 years old.

exactly. he doesn't look healthy at all.

personally, i would shelve him for a while, possibly the rest of the season, that way he's 100 next year.

i'm not a fan of getting rid of our top players.

but i just have to rant about this board. people trash haden all the time, then turn around and call him a top 10 CB every time he's destroys his favorite whipping boy, AJ Green.

either he's good or he's not, guys. i think he's good. he's an all pro, pro bowl Corner.

He was healthy game one when Brandon Marshall abused him. He's been good in the past but this year he has been nothing but bad or injured or both. No one said anything about replacing him, but calling him out for being bad is what it is.

2 people in this thread already said trade him.

others probably feel the same.

Brandon Marshal's games this year, not in order:

7 catches 111 yards, 1 TD
7 catches 101 yards, 1 TD
4 Catches 67 yards, 0 TD
9 Catches 108 yards, 0 TD
10 catches 109 yards, 1 TD
6 catches 62 yards, 1 TD
7 catches 128 yards, 0 TD

Guess which one of those is Joe Haden getting abused....

I don't know, but I do remember Joe getting abused in the Jet game.

I remember Cooper picking on him right away in the Oakland game.

I remember him looking like crap yesterday.

In fact, I remember him looking like crap all year.

I am not saying to trade him, but too many people on this board act like he can't be critiqued.

He's sucked this year and I have always said he was overrated.

He's had one really good year. That was a couple of years ago when Horton was here.

Haden doesn't make enough plays to be elite, he's really not in the top 15 imo, he doesn't pick off enough passes. He has some horrible hips and his recovery speed isn't what it was, so if he doesn't get a Jam off the line, its a sure catch, plus he falls for double moves consistently.

The most interceptions he's ever had in a season was 6, that was his rookie year.

Six is a lot of interceptions for a teams #1 corner. Most of the interception leaders in the league are safeties nowadays.

Joe is safe from a trade, because no one would take on his contract. He is very average for his career and very below average this year. He's not a guy you can place on an island because he gets beat over the top far too much.

He's not a bad CB, but he is a microcosm of why this defense is the most expensive in the NFL, and the worse in the NFL. We paid way too much for NFL mean players, and those players regressed.

yeah but my point is he hasn't even sniffed that, he's gone full seasons without one, plus to be Elite, you do have to have the interceptions and the passes defensed. Take Richard Sherman, pretty similar sample, haden rookie year was 2010, sherman 2011, thus far in their careers Haden=16 interceptions, Sherman=24. So while haden maybe be decent, he's not in elite category.

That doesn't mean he can't be effective in the right scheme, I think press man exposes him. The hybrid Horton ran suited Joe very well. Just more proof how Pettine's scheme blows and everyone has regressed since he's been the HC

Indeed. Sherman always brags about he baits QB's into throws and that's why his int numbers look so high. That said, Joe Haden used to run the league when it came to pass deflections. Changes in the rules have made it harder for him to play though, but I think our main problem is our defensive scheme. Very few of our premier players, those who have been validated by their peers, have had even a decent season so far on defense. This is a lot more telling than Haden's poor play.
