I don't need Peter King to tell me this. It would be utterly stupid to trade Thomas.

This tells me we need sports journalists to save our bacon from the nutjobs that have control of the Browns.

I'm not convinced that these reports are being 100% factual. The Browns trading JT for a first and second, while throwing in a 4th would be absolute robbery. It doesn't jive with reports of the talks from earlier in the year as well as common sense.

I dunno, maybe we're trying to return the favor for that Hillis-Quinn trade. That's all I've got.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

The fact they wanted to trade JT really opened my eyes to how horrible this organization is. They are complete morons and I hope they blow it up at the end of the season. Just wow. Smh

Possible, but after playing this year... I mean he's just starting to seem to be playing "okay", nothing like I've seen before - what makes you think he could cash in on an offer like this again, let alone one for more money?

If he's expecting more $, then he better start playing at a high level.

His replacement isn't anywhere near as good as Mack.

I want him back, I also want to retain Thomas. I'd like both to retire as Browns.

2 Questions:

Mack is making 9-10 mill this year. How much do you guys think he will be making next year?

Our coaching staff has come out and stated that Erving's talent is more suited for playing guard. Is it etched in stone that Mack is gone and Erving is replacing him?

Just like to make a quick correction.

Farmer was in his Assistant General Manager position, with an emphasis in Personnel, for 6 weeks before the 2013 Draft.

Barkevious Mingo is on Farmer also.

Browns & Broncos rushing to beat the NFL trade deadline that will send LT Joe Thomas & a 4th pick in '16 to Denver for a 1st/2nd in '16

I'm sure this happened in May and only Bozo's would see it any differently.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Maybe Pitt, but Adam Shefter is usually pretty spot on and he is reporting this as well. Does Farmer attempting to make another asinine move really shock you? Granted this would be beyond even his standard of stupidity, but certainly wouldn't shock me given his track record.

According to SB Nation they didn't make the deadline. THANK GOD.

Why would you trade a guy that good for a draft pick you'll have to use hoping you get a guy that good again?

Maybe I should be GM.

I think the Broncos are bigger idiots than the Browns for not making this deal work.

Why on Earth would you trade a PROVEN asset for future unproven consideration is beyond me.

I'm sure this happened in May and only Bozo's would see it any differently.

At least have the decency of growing a set and address that straight to my face...so whatever you state on the board I guess always comes out that way.

Also I would like to add right away it was Farmer who messed up the trade. He can't do that right. But it was Denver who had to juggle money to make room for JT's contract not us. So they messed up.

It did not happen - all I know is there was no trade...scrambling...they had days, to get this done. We'd have to expend a pick to get a LT. Unless we want Barry Stokes as our LT again. This would have had significant repercussions.

1. We would have lost the team. If we don't play to win why would they want to.
2. Obviously Pettine did not want this to happen.
3. Forget about Mack and other potential FA if we are not loyal to Joe Thomas why would they be loyal to us.

I just hope this possible trade does not damage our relations with our players and the OL is a very tight unit.

In this day and age of cyber stuff how does a deal that they wish to make not get done. Obviously it would be on Denver as they had to juggle money. Their Loss.

I'm glad the deal wasn't done. They would have had to deal a lot more than JOE T...it would be a domino effect if we are tearing it down...then tear it down.

What I don't like about it - this is no longer Pettine's team Farmer has taken control. This sucks!

On PAPER its not a bad deal for us. But Players aren't paper...I think they would have lost the team and anyone who can be a FA would be a FA. We would be back to expansion level ONCE AGAIN.

I hope we can pull this teams moral together again - that will be on Pettine.

jf...yes the Broncos were a little inept...how could they not have the trail set to move money around instead of waiting for the - OH CRAP the Browns will do this and then scramble???

Also remember that Joe Thomas not only ridiculed all the Manzielians among Browns fans with his Ravens postgame comment. He also laughed straight at Farmer. That probably didn't sit well with him

Not a bad deal? It's bascially Joe Thomas (and Ib. Campbell) for Cam Erving and Nate Orchard

You're right, it's not bad, it's horrible

Sounds like we were close to losing Joe Thomas.

Farmer needs to go before he destroys the team any further.

Good gosh Eve. You are a smart person. If we had wanted to trade Joe we would have been able to trade him.

He wasn't traded and we never intended to trade him. All this trade BS was created by the media. I am sure a few teams CALLED US to see if we wanted to sell off some assets, and then Ian Rappa"whore"t turns them calling us to us wanting to trade players.

Bottom line is we didn't trade anybody. Hello????

I am sure had somebody wanted Mingo we might have traded him.

Come on people, it's starting to sound pretty dumb around here. Let's don't allow frustration to turn this in to silly season.

1. I think this may have already happened as the will to trade JT has the same locker room effect as an actual trade. ...not like the organization cares.
2. Agreed.
3. Mack is already not. Other FA are questionable at best.

Peen, I love you, but you predicted 11 and 5. You might not want to call other people "dumb" at this point in the season.

I am wondering............can TN support two teams? Could a team thrive in either Memphis or Knoxville w/the Titans in Music City?

What part of Tennessee is Haslam from?

I think that I am going to stay pissed off until Farmer is fired. I hate wanting someone to lose their job but man, this guy is killing us.

Everytime he is going to make a move, whether that is making a trade, signing a free agent or making a draft pick , I cringe.

There really isn't much recourse for the fan base ( us ) .. The only way to start getting Haslams attention comes from the Season ticket holders ( Like Peen ) .. You will have to have a real movement stop to writing checks .. I don't see any other way to get the NFL's attention ?????

I hope I am wrong, but I have a feeling that Haslam and Farmer will blame Pet for all the team's issues and he will be the one to get the axe. They will say "he can't develop young talent."

I will say: "What freaking talent?"

I'm in advanced discussions on buying the Browns. So far my offer of $3.00 has been refused, but they keep answering the phone as long as I call from a different number each time.

You guys don't let this get out, but I might eventually be willing to go as high as $3.75.

Latest rumor is that Broncos initially offered two first round picks for Thomas. Browns wanted to add Bowe to the trade. Denver changed their offer to one first rounder and a bag of donuts. It was a difficult decision, but Farmer's text message didn't reach the Bronco's before the trade deadline.

Ouch!

Look, I have been very hard on Farmer and Pet. Took a lot of grief for it.

With that said, I don't want to pile on and make crap up in the name of being mean-spirited. The guy has a family. This is his livelihood. We shouldn't be bullies.

I think that we should just stick to the facts. They will tell the true story. No need to embellish on them in a derogatory manner. I know I was sickened when so many of our "fans" called the previous regime "The Three Stooges."

Likewise, I don't think we should resort to scum-bag tactics w/Farmer, either. Please, please..........do not make me defend him. I think the guy is not a very good talent evaluator. I think he is pretty arrogant. I think he meddles. But, he is not an ignorant man. You don't get to that position by being stupid. He needs to go, but I hope we do this w/class.

In keeping with the defending Farmer/Pettine mantra, a lot of smoke out that Alec Sheiner is becoming more Involved in football ops and is the problem. I do know vers was right about name calling.....I apologize for that. However, whomever thought giving away JT for a low 1st/2nd round pick was a good idea is not acting competent. There is plenty enough cold hard facts to hang both Farmer and Pettine....Haslem for that matter but we ar stuck with him.
