I haven't spent much time around junkyards, but maybe some of you use them for parts. I'm looking for a cap/shell for our truck. Do they have things like this or is that something people usually keep when they scrap the truck?

Try Intercity Auto Wrecking in Bedford.. 440-786-0000 or 440-439-8100 and ask for Mike.. He's a great guy and will help you..
Sometimes if they don't have a part, he knows how to find it for you and will look it up....
I got a lot of parts for my Z there,,, some he had in stock, some he searched for and found for me.. I guess they are part of a Parts Exchange thing between junkyards...

Thanks, but I'm in Dayton, so I probably wouldn't drive that far for the cap.  I just didn't know if anyone had noticed caps in junkyards.

I haven't known many junkyards who have the capper tops Chelle......................but there used to be a TON of them in The Trading Post Magazine. I think that would be a good bet for you. Probably find one in there close to home too.

I actually thought about picking the Trading Post up...thanks!  If I find one that fits, the one we currently have will be in the yard with a FREE sign on it if you know anyone that wants one.

I agree....as a rule you aren't going to find that...they are pretty easy to pop off.

There is a Junk yard I would go to on US 35 west of Dayton that had alot of truck caps. Can't remember the name of the yard though. it's on Third St.

Are you talking about the one out near Kil Kare Drag Strip? I've never been to that one,but I hear they have a big junk yard out there. If so,that would be pretty close for them.

I never saw a cap in a boneyard that was worth a hoot in hell!!! check out trading times for what you're looking for would be my best advice
