Chris Henry Fails Drug Test Last Update: May 21, 2007 11:20 AM Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson says embattled Bengals receiver Chris Henry has failed a court-ordered drug test. Edmondson says Henry tested positive for opiates and that it will force Henry to serve up to 88 days in the Kenton County jail. It could also affect Henry's probation in Florida. Henry was ticketed last month for an improper turn signal on Vine Street in Cincinnati. Those charges were dropped after Henry entered a diversion program. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license. Henry has faced a number of legal problems, including marijuana, drunk driving and a weapons charge. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell handed Henry an eight game suspension because of his off-field problems. http://www.local12.com/content/breaking_...75-08a16050665dLet the excuses begin.

I think he is up to a year suspension for this offense alone. He will have to ask for reinststement also. I think the Bengals really have no choice but to cut him.

It's sad too, the boy has talent, and he's letting it go to waste.
You know your going to be tested, why the heck would you even bother messing with this crap.

Bengals' Henry must serve jail time after failed drug test ESPN.com news services Updated: May 21, 2007, 12:52 PM ET Suspended Bengals receiver Chris Henry failed a court-ordered drug test and will have to serve 88 days in jail. Kenton County (Kentucky) Attorney Garry Edmondson said that Henry tested positive for opiates and he will be forced to serve jail time. Henry's failed drug test was first reported by WKRC-TV in Cincinnati. Henry is on probation in Florida. It's unclear whether the reported drug test results will force him to serve jail time there. The Bengals told ESPN's Bob Holtzman that they expect to release a statement regarding Henry later Monday. Henry, who has been arrested four times since December 2005, has been suspended for the first eight games of next season for violating the NFL's conduct policies. He spent two days in jail last January after pleading guilty to letting minors drink alcohol in a hotel room he had rented. Henry received traffic tickets on March 25 for driving with a suspended license, failing to use his turn signal and a seat belt violation. He was allowed to go into a license intervention program to settle the charges. Henry is permitted to work out at the Bengals' facilities in the offseason and participate in training camp, including preseason games. He won't be allowed to practice with the team when the regular season begins. He will be reinstated after the eighth game if he stays out of trouble. "I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote Henry when he suspended him. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort." ESPN.com's John Clayton and The Associated Press contributed to this report. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2877555

j/c (Pure Sarcasm below) New Career Move For Henry Home & Gardens Television Network Open To New Show In an unprecidented move,Home & Gardens Television Network is in negatiations with the often troubled Bengals Wide Reciever Chris Henry for a new television show. We contacted H&G TV's network operations manager Dick Dork for comments on the proposed new career possibilities for Henry........................... Sarcasm Central; Mr. Dork,or should we just call you dick? Dick Dork; Dick will be fine. Sarcasm Central; What possible reason could you see to talk with Chris Henry about a home improvement type show? Dick Dork; Well,we've decided to branch out somewhat. With reality TV and home improvement shows growing in popularity,we've decided to sort of combine the two. Sarcasm Central; And how so? Dick Dork; Well we think we've found the perfect combination with Chris Henry. A self absorbed NFL "star" who is used to "the good life" who will now be mixed in with the social degenerates of this world in a current prison setting. Sarcasm Central; But we still don't quite see how this fits into your programming? Dick Dork; It's really quite simple when you stop to think about it. We'll see a smaller, rich athlete, trying to survive prison life from the "reality aspect". The old "don't drop the soap" reality of it. Then,we'll combine that with his "taste of the finer things" by remodeling every cell he stays in along the way................... Sarcasm Central; And do you have a name for this show as of yet Dick? Dick Dork; It will be called Flip This Cell Before Bubba Flips You. We would like to thank Mr. Dork for his exclusive interview given to Sarcasm Central. So you heard it here first! Look for Chris Henry in his new career in television on his reality/home improvement show this fall on H&G TV Network "Flip This Cell Before Bubba Flips You". With Anna Nicole gone, someone needs to fill the void. Copyright Sarcasm Central. All Rights Reserved. Contact Sarcasm Central at; 714@U812nthe70's
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Never had a court-ordered drug test,so I could be wrong. But wouldn't he know about it ahead of time? And got hopped up anyway?
Didn't go to school on an academic scholarship, did he?

Oh wait, I get it now. Some Jaguars were having legal issues this off-season so Henry and Nicholson are trying to get the title back.

Yes and No. You know of the appointment with the probation officer ahead of time, but you don't know if they will be conducting Operation Golden Flow that day.
So yes, either way, he would have known he could possibly be getting tested that day.... he just would not have known for certain.

The latest I read is that whoever reported he failed the test has backed off of their claim and there is going to be more to follow..I hope Henry didn't really do this...What a waste it would be...

I am going to go out on a REALLY big limb here but I just have to say this, As a parent, I feel a great amount of sympathy for Henry's parents and siblings for all of the embarrassment that he is causing to them as member of the family . I am also kind of looking at this from a "poetic justice" point too. I don't think that ANY of us should laugh at someone else's ill's or repeated gaffs with the law, however; When you are in the spotlight and making $$millions$$ of dollars to do a job that you can actually say that you "enjoy" as a celebrity, than ANYTHING goes as far as your behavior and status both on and off the field. ... I guess my point is this, The guy needs help and if I were the Commish, he would, along with many others in his predicament, be in some sort of program for frequent violators and then suspended if not kicked out of the NFL PERIOD.. ...The thing that strikes me the most is ALL of the veterans who played this game years ago and can't get any help with their medical bills and health insurance and we are spending more time with these guys in today's game and their legal woes. ..Is it me or has the world gone MAD????

Now there is conflicting info on the test! Link Quote:
The Kenton County Attorney now says his office has conflicting information on drug test results involving Bengals receiver Chris Henry. Earlier today, Garry Edmondson said Henry had failed a court-ordered drug test, adding that Henry tested positive for opiates.
Edmondson indicated it would force Henry to serve up to 88 days in the Kenton County jail.
Edmondson says one test came back negative. He says results of another test are pending. He would not say who told him the test was positive.
The Cincinnati Bengals released the following statement today:
"For Chris Henry to return playing NFL football, the Bengals understand that he must comply with certain legal and NFL-related procedures. To date, to the Club’s knowledge, Chris has been complying with those procedures, and the Club is not aware at this point of any circumstance in which Chris has not complied with his obligations.
With respect to the Northern Kentucky proceedings, reports to date may not be based on complete information.
More information is expected to be made available shortly, once all the procedural tests are complete, and the Club will await any action until that information has been released."
Bungle fans are praying in the streets right now for a miracle.

Are they having some sort of competition in Cinci or what?
Wonder how long it will be before Cinci is getting fined or giving up draft picks?
