This kid can play outside and can play inside. Whether he helps a defense needing help, remains to be seen.

I thought he was growing and getting better like a rookie should in camp/preseason. We'll see if that continues but what I saw from him was seen by others (coaches) evidently. But of course some on here think our staff is just a bunch of dimwits who don't know jack.

So be it.

No matter what, he's a rookie that is about to play in his first NFL game.... he's going to have a rough day no matter what.

He may help eventually, but he is definitely no panacea for what ails this defense.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Obviously the staff were licking their chomps over the kid as they burned their only IR to return opening on him. Supposedly very hard worker and very fast learner.

I'm actually kind of excited about it, let's see what he can do.

At this point we should just play only defensive backs on defense. We are not going to stop the run anyway, might as well stop the pass.

I remember him getting a pick. Great.

I also remember him missing several tackles because he sucked in space.

Throw as many CB's out there as you want, but that's not going to help until we can get an effective pass rush. It's not our secondary that is the main problem...

What if we throw twenty of them out there? Surely we would be able to get a pass rush then, right?

I just fixed the defense.

I think your point about a lack of a pass rush affecting the d-backs is a pretty darn good one.

It's a darn good one. When a QB has the time to go through all of his progressions and then have time to size up the throw, odds are somebody is going to be open and he is going to hit them.

With pressure, the QB is thinking about getting it out quickly, so he can't take the time to make 4-5 reads, and with pressure, he is chucking it more to the place he thinks the ball needs to go rather than seeing where it needs to go and throwing it there..

I do think Charles Gaines and Ibraheim Campbell have upside. Could be major players next year.
