Oh yeah, there is another Cleveland sports team playing tonight. Tribe up 4-1 in the 7th after a Barfield 2 RBI double. He is really coming around. To top it off, C.C. got through 5 innings, giving up one run, when he did not have his good stuff by any means.

As an add, a lot of interesting promotions at the game this evening as it is the make-up of the snowed out, almost completed game. The Indians gave away authentic leaf blowers, had ice sculptures in the Gateway Plaza, free McFlurry's, etc.

Hernandez makes it interesting by giving up three baserunners and not getting an out. Borowski has to come out for a save opportunity...
JoBo gets out of it. 5-2 Tribe. Mastny gets the win and Borowski with the save.

Hernandez's rather poor play makes me think of other options we have/could have had. Have you seen Andrew Brown's performance in San Diego's system this season? His ERA's only 1.66, and that's after 2 straight poor outings. Subtracting those outliers, his ERA would be .44. He also has a 27/9 K/BB ratio and a .147 average against. Looking very good. If he has the same velocity with improved control, he should do very well when he gets his call-up.

92 pitches through 5 innings and he simply wasn't sharp. One of those nights where he didn't have it and Mastny did in relief.

He was getting tagged. Giving up only 1 run was amazing.

that's what i thought, i can't see most of the games out here, and i saw that he had only gone 5 innings with just one run against him...
that's pretty telling to think that he was clearly not on, but still battled his way through 5 innings with just one run...
it figures that for the first time in a few years, i don't buy the mlb package and the tribe is playing so well...
maybe i shouldn't watch the browns at all next year

Anybody else notice we are seeing Mastny alot more than any of the relievers besides JoeB?

General thought: I caught some video and saw that the bleachers weren't even filled. I can understand why cuz of the Cavs (I wonder how much the Cavs have killed Indians attendance this season), but we have the best home record in baseball.
Why aren't we selling out? I'm dying to go to a game and can't until June, while people who can choose not to go.

What are you talking about? The attendance last night was 38,645 at the game last night!
Of course, this was a make-up game, and if you didn't use your tickets for the Home Opener by now, they went toward this game. So, in all honesty, there weren't many good seats available last night for a walk-up crowd. That being said, the Reds series drew over 100,000 for the weekend and attendance is beginning to go up. If the Tribe has a good trip with KC, DET, and BOS, I think attendance may make another jump when they come back.

Really? I looked at the Blake homerun and the bleachers were half full, usually the bleachers are packed while the rest of the stadium is empty. My bad. Good to hear though.

There probably weren't 12,000 fans actually there, but the number looks a lot higher because all fans who didn't redeem their tickets by now got counted as being at this game (since it was the make-up for the Home Opener, which was sold out).

Silly fans for not showing up. They missed a good game.

For the life of me,I can't understand why everybody is ragging on Borowski.Just remember, the Indians had NOBODY closing last season after Wickman got traded.Imagine the same scenerio this season if they didn't get Borowski. He doesn't have a 90+ MPH fastball, but the bottom line is he's getting the job done.I believed at one time Jason Davis could be our closer, but he couldn't get anyone out in spite of his so-called good arm. There's a reason why he kept getting sent down and finally traded.Just be thankful we have Joe on our pitching staff.

I have to admit I am a BombBowski basher, but as long as he can CONTINUE to get out of these ones like he got out of last night, we'll be OK,...it is what it is.

i really wish i had more to offer for the tribe, but i haven't been able to watch them since i don't have the package...
but from what i hear, borowski is getting saves, but still putting guys on...
i'd really like to see this team add a few arms through the trade/waiver wire/minor leagues...
because once you get into the playoffs, and you have lineups like detroit and boston, you can't put guys on like that...

If you take away his two bad outings (in NY and in OAK) he has a 2.88 ERA. He just happened to give up a boatload of runs in both of those games (and he should NEVER have been in the Yankee game and/or pulled when it was clear he didn't have it that day).
I'm still open to trading for someone else if we can. Heck, you always look for improvements. As is stands, I'm glad we have him. There's no way we'd have our record without him.

or that teams are willing to part with them...
as far as this year goes, if we want to upgrade our closer position, it's probably going to come from within, either that or our scouting does a hell of a job and is able to land someone from a trade who's team has no idea he can close ballgames...
it's such a tough position to solidify though...

I wish they did
But, as alot of people on here said, we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for JoeB. 14 saves, you cannot deny that, no matter his ERA, because he has gotten the job done. Which I do believe we should be grooming Cabrera or Mastny as our closer in the next year or two, beginning now, I say Mastny is getting more work out of all the relievers which sorda leads you to believe..........But then, Cabrera keeps getting the key late inning jobs..........It's Mastny or Cabrera
