Chris Matthews (6'5", 218) was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, should we take the chance? Still young, 26. Only 2 years from college

I wouldn't be surprised just because of Joker's involvement here. That said, I wouldn't get any ideas of something magical occurring.

The Seahawks have a pretty terrible wide receiver group and they released him. Not a good sign.

This was my initial thought. Likely going to have to pass.

He looked awesome in the Super Bowl and he is big. We need another red zone target.

Hey, we have, Marlon Moore, and he actually got some reps 2 games ago.

Whatever, who knows, I'm not a fan of Taylor Gabriel, I know a lot on here are, and I'd be ehh, who knows, it depends who goes if they get him.

Can't be worse than Duane Bowe so far. What happened to Terrelle Pryor?

Oh yeah, he left for Turbin, who they soon let go. Go Figure.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Was there a reason that he got released? Was anything leading up to it?

I know he had a great SB...but they got him from the couch late in the season. He wasn't on a team...that big and athletic there has to be something holding this kid back.

I'm tire of reclamation projects. Do we have a 6+ footer on our Practice Squad? I'd rather see what he can do then other teams garbage.

He might be of no use to the Seahawks, but at 6-5, he'd be different from all of our smurf clones. We need one big body who is not Bowe.
As for taking other teams' trash, when you're one of the worst teams in the league, you can't be above taking castoffs from a two-time Super Bowl team.
Cut Bowe and give him a shot, I say!

I guess that is my point. Would we really being taking a HUGE gamble by signing him and releasing Bowe?

I really don't care if we get him or not. I was just making conversation.

Cut Bowe, sign Matthews

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

At this point, that is not a horrible idea. I don't see any way Bowe is on the roster next season. Might as well throw poo at the wall.

They were dangling him for an o-lineman before the deadline and nobody bit.

He wan't run a decent route to save his life.

That being said, we could still use him in the endzone.

Plus Paul McQuistan and the dude who retired shortly after signing him. I believe he was an offensive lineman.

Chris Matthews? No thanks.

J/C ......

Dwayne Bowe hasn't been able to find the field because 5 other receivers are "entrenched" ahead of him. Matthews would be no different.

We already had him once before, he was on the team during training camp back in 2011. I believe we kept Carlton Mitchell over him.

So, is Bowe better and if not, then why not take a chance.

Hmmm, yes we had Shurmur as the coach and drafted Greg Little and had Mitchell, Robiskie and Massaquoi.....perhaps we should get him Matthews back
