Most LA fans would rather lose with a terrible Kobe than part ways with him. I've never seen a fanbase more delusional about a player. I have friends who, before the season, told me Kobe was a top ten player in the league. He's not even a top 10 player on his team. Thats good stuff there..so true..he just needs to give it up, was a great player but father time said its time.

I recognized Walt right away. Then he took his jump shot, and it was even more obvious.

didn't they win a title 5 years ago? 2010.. didn't Phil Jackson leave in 2011? That's when they should have seen the writing on the wall and gone into full blown rebuild mode. could have told Kobe, we will keep you but it has to be a team friendly contract.

Yes, Kobe is done and he's ruining the Lakers present and near future, but as Cavs fans, would we be okay with Lebron earning $50m and playing like dirt near the end of his career if he won a title or two for Cleveland?
I know I'd be okay with it. Heck, I'd let him play until he was 50. Winning a title in Cleveland gets you a free pass the rest of your life.

Winning a title in LA isn't the same as winning one in Cleveland though.

Winning a title in LA isn't the same as winning one in Cleveland though. Maybe they feel the same way, or at least some do. They want Kobe to retire a Laker because of all the great things he did for them. That means he may stay too long and cause some losing seasons near the end, but you still have the titles hanging above your head. I'm sure some want or wanted Kobe to retire so he can end as a Laker, but they don't get to make that call. Nobody knew he was going to be THIS BAD. He was still quite good before he tore that achilles. Plus, as someone said above, nobody would retire with $24M on the table. That's $24M. I don't care who you are, you stay and collect those checks.

We're Cleveland fans, so we naturally prepare for ourselves for the worst possible scenario with our teams, but man...
I honestly believe this is THE team that ends the curse THIS year. I'm just glad Dan went all in.

I'm all in too, but while this is an incredible team and the best Cleveland sports team since the Jim Brown days who is going to stop GS? They are insane. If not for them, Cleveland wins this thing easy. I am also concerned about injuries again. As a Cleveland fan we have to.
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

If both squads stay healthy there is nothing that is going to prevent a Cavs - GS finals. It doesn't really matter what happens in the regular season.
GS will break the Bulls regular season win record this year. How the Cavs beat GS I have no idea.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

between that and our defense we won't make it out of first round. Our guards can't stay in from of anyone I think you are overreacting. It's the NBA. It's LeBron. I made a post about how the early season games are hard for me to watch because there is no sense of urgency. It's more about "let's get through this healthy and work on our rotations." I do think you bring up a good point about how poor our guards are at stopping dribble penetration. Kyrie is even worse than the other guys. Well, maybe not Mo.....LOL...but, he is terrible, too. Not stopping dribble penetration is a huge No-No and gets you benched on every other level of basketball. It compromises your defense in so many ways. Bigs have to switch and pick-up fouls. You allow more offensive rebounds. Help comes from the wing and you leave spot-up open shooters, and there is no easier shot to make in hoops than standing there w/your feet set and having the ball delivered inside-out.

the fact is, we would be 8or 9-1 instead of 8-3 if we could hit even 75% of our FT's. we left damn near a whole quarters worth of points at the line.

Yeah I'm seeing some bad habits that don't seem to be improved next year..can we overcome some of them with talent, sure. But championship teams do them well with coaching and scheme. I am not impressed with Blatt/Lue and their defensive sets... Rely too much on help defense..we aren't very quick up top or under the basket. you can't play that scheme. We probably should employ a zone. We did that in the 3rd last night and built our lead, went away from it and they just destroyed us. Between that and FT shooting, thats just a lazy team. Noone other than a center should shoot less than 75%..most of our team does. This team just doesn't seem very hungry to me.. Yeah its the regular season blah blah blah..Last i checked it was regular season for GS too and they are destroying teams because thats what good teams do, they don't coast. We have a mentality issue on this team and it starts with LBJ, he preaches and preaches, yet he goes out and takes stanky leg step back 3's with the game on the line, bad passes when he tries to do too much. Theres just no flow. We all know the talent is there, we just have to get some things worked out and figure out what kind of team we are. Good thing this season is so long.

MJ couldn't blow by people later so he developed a post game. LBJ still relies on bad shot selection. But with as much as he gets to the line, he could really help the team by hitting more than 60%. Obviously LBJ is just one example, other guys are missing them too, but LBJ gets to the line more than anyone so it hurts more when he doesn't shoot them well.
