Are people on here truly afraid to be a victim of Islamic violence?

because I was arguing with Swish? I thought Swish was wrong yesterday.. today I think you are wrong. I don't really care what either of your political ideologies are.

But you really need to realize how hard it is on everyone when you are the one who is wrong.

I'm afraid of being a victim of any kind of violence. Well maybe not actually afraid, but concerned.

If I'm wrong, show me. I'll be a big boy and admit it.

I am concerned about Islamic violence, but I am truly afraid of being a victim of Obama.

ISIS says they will use the refugees to infiltrate Nations.
ISIS says they will kill Americans.
ISIS says they will hit an American city next.

I for one will take them at their word.

I saw today that ISIS (daesh) actually said "oh, we didn't mean to hit a russian plane, it was supposed to be a british plane."

Made me wonder why they would say that? Maybe cause Russia is feared by them?

They also executed a Chinese hostage. China is a little ticked off.


And on another tangent here, we're being told how it probably took months of intensive planning and training to coordinate the attacks in Paris.

yeah. 1 person blew themself up. Didn't hurt anyone. Watched a video of 2 guys shooting into a restaurant/cafe. They didn't even go inside, just peppered the building from the outside.

If it takes months of training and planning to do that, well.

I agree, ISIS has declared war on the world basically.. and the world needs to stop bickering and come up with a unified plan to combat it.

I'm not at all. Yet I do believe that you do not simply ignore using common sense in trying to avoid it.

I'm not for putting boots on the ground in Syria, yet I'm also not willing to trust information from the Syrian government on the people some are willing to allow into our country.

Trying to avoid obvious danger isn't the same as fearing something. Caution does not equate to fear.

I believe they both say 1 --- but it's up to us to decide what to do with that information.

I see the French PM is warning of the risk of potential biochemical attacks from extremists now.

Me personally? No. the odds are extremely small. However I do not want to see my fellow Americans in any other city blown up either. I also don't want to see another successful terror attack as it will only embolden the government to infringe even further into my rights as an American.

They only can do that because we let them -- not because there are attacks.

It's not up to the Syrians? They don't have any skin in the game of killing other Syrians? It's just us?

Look, I have no problem with refugees coming here. My problem is with bad people coming here. They're not all women (who have been known, just recently, to strap suicide vests on) or kids.

Lets help, but lets do it prudently.

I don't remember being asked if I wanted to let them strip search me at the airport and monitor my phone calls and e-mails... but ok.

That's not what Republican governors are saying.

We're already taking in a ridiculously small number of refugees, compared to every European country. 10K this year? That's 30 people per day. Germany is taking in 5000/day. There are 4 million refugees. We're the freaking USA, we have the resources to process 30 people/day.

Also, how "prudently"? That still requires you answer my question - how many Syrian lives is an American life worth?

That's because most americans said "sure" -- or at least, they re-elected all the people who voted for it.

As for refugees, I thought the u.s. took in a limit of 85,000 per year. (that's from my memory, and includes all refugees from everywhere).

No, we can't process 30 a day. Not when I'm hearing it takes at least a year to vet each one. (to truly find out what they are, etc)

Answer my question first: How many American lives are worth letting in 1 terrorist?

Can't argue with that - if that's the answer you want to have on your conscience and tell your god.

Republican Gov.'s are simply playing politics.

IF these refugees enter the U.S. there's nothing they can do to stop them from entering their states. That is simply political wrangling.

I oppose them entering our nation on what I believe to be common sense.

I don't believe with any degree of certainty that we can trust Syria to have the capability to have complete background information on their people that should instill confidence in using that information in any sort of vetting process.

Now answer me. How many American lives are you willing to sacrifice for the Syrians?

I'm willing to put Americans at minuscule personal risk to save 100K people.

You realize that congress sets a limit every year of how many refugees the US will take in and we are already at that limit for 2015 right? You also realize that we take in refugees from all over the place, far more than any other country in the world right? So we could load up on Syrian refugees next year, then the question will become, is a Syrian life more valuable than a Congo life?

Did we write this number into granite tablets? Are we not allowed to update it based on new information? Maybe we should direct our military to protect us against England, wouldn't want to update our strategy based on world events...

Even in total number we're 12th, despite being the 3rd biggest country.

I don't care if we let five, ten or 50 people in, there is NO reason why we shouldn't be doing a background check, research and validation on a group of individuals who have known western world hatred. You guys are taking that discussion too far IMO.

OMG. Does this truly surprise you? This IS what we are dealing with, true or not. This is what Obama's failed foreign policy in Syria has created. There is no being nice, there is no diplomacy, there is no talking, there is no heart and, in their eyes, there is no peace until every infidel is dead.

Sooner we realize this, the better. We can no longer lead from behind, turn a blind eye to this "JV " squad and treat them like people. They are animals who need put out of their misery.

I don't know where this video is from, but...

4 million people don't flee their homes and country because somebody got beat up.... this is the type of thing the refugees are running away from.
