Exactly why I felt the game isn't worth 60 bucks.

That's the EA gaming model in a nutshell. I'm not sure I'll ever buy a game Day One from them again.

I did warn you. wink

Let me know how it is. I'm never pre-buying anything from EA again. I want to hear what the consensus is before spending any money.

Yes, I distinctly remember passing your statements in one ear and out the other. You ended up being right. All I hear about the game is graphics and gameplay are awesome, but the game offers next to nothing and people are already bored with it. It just released yday, heh. The DLC content evidently already seems light years ahead of what is shipped with the game.

Thankfully when I pre-ordered, I went with the standard shipping, because when it arrives - I'm going to be going to get my refund and use it towards a different game. I've built up too much hype and excitement to give EA $60 bucks for a game that requires additional money to get anything out of. I'll wait, what likely won't be much of a wait, and snag it off Craigslist or eBay on the cheap a few weeks/months from now.

Very disappointed.

Yeah, the reviews haven't been kind. And the fact that EA expects us to pay extra money just to get the meat of the game is extremely disappointing yet again. I didn't want to be "right", but EA just has such a terrible track record with these sorts of things. frown

They'll probably have it for 60% off around Black Friday at this rate.

Yeah I refuse to pre-order anymore. Games usually go on sale rather quickly, at least with the digital download vendors.

So, I plan on hitting Walmart up Thursday or Friday to snag up Assassin's Creed Syndicate and I'm thinking, since I'll be dealing with the crowds and the new titles are only $35, I'll snag up the Metal Gear Solid game too. I won't be able to buy that game used for 35, so might get it new and have it on deck.

Anyone else planning on some nerding out on getting some games this black Friday?

I'm hoping to grab a killer deal for my kids on a PS4...My son tells me everyday how much he loves me - followed by the reminder of Fallout 4 smile Ah..teenagers smile

My daughter is a big AC fan.

Hope some good bundles out there...

Only if it's on sale on steam.

Well, I feel like a bit of a hypocrite, but ... My wife ended up getting me a Playstation 4 for my birthday and it came with Battlefront. So, yeah ... looks like EA got my money anyway.

But as for the game, That empty hamburger bun describes it pretty accurately. As far as game-play and aesthetics, it's amazing. It feels very Star Wars'zy and it's actually pretty fun to play, IMO. Outside of that though, there is VERY little content. Unless you want to pay for a Playstation Plus account, you get 5 tutorial missions, 4 You-vs-AI skirmish maps, and I think 3 fifteen-wave mission maps (And only the Tutorials let you drive vehicles!) That's it. You earn some sort of currency, but I can't even see what I can buy with it. I'm guessing I have to play multiplayer to use any of that stuff. The wave mission was actually pretty fun. It took about 45 minutes to play one and it felt a lot like what Mass Effect did with their multiplayer missions, but it was still enjoyable.

I'd compare this game to Gran Turismo. Except if Gran Turismo only had 6 cars and 4 tracks. And then most of the game content was "online" (which you had to pay for). It's a beautifully done game, it's actually pretty fun to play, there's just nothing to it. It seems like they could of easily had a "Career Mode" similar to Gran Turismo and it would actually be a pretty fun game to play. But instead they delivered something that has about a 6 hour gaming experience before there's nothing left to do.

That's what Battlefield is like as well. A Mediocre walkthrough campaign but the guts is all in the online game. If it's 3/4 the game the battlefield series is, you can get hooked pretty bad.

I thought he Playstation accounts were free? What does the account get you if you have to pay for it?

Accounts are free. Online play (for PS4) is now a monthly subscription fee. It's the new home-buying/HOA of the gaming world. rolleyes

Not only do you need to pay for the PSN+ subscription, just to access online, but you'll need to drop another $50 bucks for Battlefront's DLC to get the most outta online. Last I heard there was like, 16 new maps in the DLC.

Sorry EA, but paying over $100 to get ANYTHING outta the game is something I'll pass on. EA, your business model is a joke and a rip off to the gaming community. And it's not that I don't have the extra spending money, it's just the "principal" of it all.

Well guys, the Thursday Black Friday opening at my local Walmart wasn't too bad at all. All in all, I waited about 35 minutes in both lanes to get the game and the checkout. I picked up Assassin's Creed Syndicate and the Metal Gear Solid game, Phantom Pain or something. $35 bucks each, reg $60.

Assassin's Creed game has gotten a lot of play yesterday. Skeptical I was factoring the previous ones have fallen quite short, but this one so far has been AWESOME. Probably the most fun I've had with an AC game since Black Flag.

The graphics are sick, there's a TON of things to do and etc, I like the switching between brother and sister assassins and all in all - I can tell the developing company listened to the negative reviews and complaints. Ubisoft has put no online in this game that I can see and focused on the single player. They've done a FANTASTIC job displaying London during that time period, and it's just interesting running through the streets and observing.

Oh, and some of the "multi-kill" scenes are brutally awesome and I freaking dig it lol. I'm only about 26% of the way, but I'm glad I choosen to wait on Battlefront and get these games on the cheap to play. thumbsup

I wrapped up Assassin's Creed Syndicate over the extended break.

I'll say that's the most fun I've had with that series since Black Flag. They needed to dish out a good game because the fan base of AC has been very upset over the frequent releases of crap.

finished 3 but was disappointed in the overall game. The story was ok, the gameplay was awesome, but it was very tedious at times. The sailing part is awesome, and I can only imagine that Black Flag is basically just that? So much fun.

I'm on to Fallout New Vegas, and I have the rest of the week to screw around with it..

Need some help with Madden, Xbox One. Tried to play a friend last night, both of us tried sending invites to each other, we both got them, little box opened saying to hold down the silver xbox button, but when we tried to accept we couldn't find the invite.

After watching a video, it talked about joining a party, but I can't see how that is possible if you want to play a lot of different people.

Thanks for the help, both of us are light gamers and this is very frustrating.

Anyone playing fallout 4? I'm level 22, enjoying it. Starting to hit some of the redundant quests. My character build is a mess. Points are just all over the place.

Haven't got addicted to a the settlement building too much. I'll spend 15-20 minutes building stuff when I go back to town to rest up and clear out inventory.

I did spend a bit of time on the drive in movie settlement. There is quest that had me build a radio beacon there so it attracted settlers. I finished the quest and moved on. Past through there several game hours later and found 7 people there with no food or water. I felt bad, so I spent some time building that place up.

No Fallout here, but I have snagged up Battlefront Deluxe version off Craigslist for $35 bucks. I will say playing online has been quite enjoyable.

still playing tons of Insurgency.

If there are any PC gamers out there that want to join in, look for the ROoFGaming.net Insurgency server. We have a large group playing Co-Op every Monday, usually from around 8:30pm EST until whenever. Server holds up to 16 players, and it isn't uncommon for it to fill up. We also have a Ventrilo server for voice chat... PM me if you're interested in that info.

Looking to pick up Fallout 4 in the coming weeks, probably be a treat to myself with the tax return money.

I think one person here said they were playing Battlefront, did you see EA announced free, yes I said free, DLC content releasing soon?

Whatever you do, DO NOT wear a targeting visor on powerarmor when you do the mission "Nuclear Option" at the end of the game. In fact, don't wear Powerarmor at all.

It created a game ending glitch for me on the PS4 and I ended up accidentally autosaving over all my previous auto-saves and I couldn't get out of this glitch unless I lost 15 hours of gameplay and like 10 levels.

Ruined the whole game for me. Went from my best game of 2015 to like, worst experience ever in videogames.

70 hours of Fallout and I put the game away unbeaten because of this game ending glitch

Oh really? Seems they are desperate to keep the fleeing fanbase put for another month or so? Hopefully it's some Single Player stuff.

It doesn't appear the free DLC will effect much, if any, the non multi-player realm. It's clear this game was designed for focus mainly on multi-player.

There's paid content too including a Death Star map, which I likely will purchase!

Anybody here play The Division beta over the weekend? I did and I enjoyed it. I felt like they should've put more of the story in the beta, but I guess since it left me wanting more, mission accomplished for them. I didn't spend enough time in the dark zone to really get a full feel of it, though. I'm big into Destiny, but I'm thinking division will take over my top spot.

So I should be taking the dive into the PS4 community in the next week or two. What should the first game I get be?
