I'm not hating on Bridgewater.
Just telling Vers what I see.
At this point, his ceiling looks to be Alex Smith.

I really believe Pettine is a poor HC. However, I believe it's logical to deduce that there had to be some sort of agreement between JFF and the team going into this season concerning a conduct policy. Even if there wasn't, there was definitely an agreement about this weekend. We don't know that for sure, but how can you explain today's reaction from the team without that.

I said they can't freaking make him go. They may have proposed it, but it was still Johnny's call. You cannot deny that. I can't deny that they can't physically force him. However, they hold his contract and in that regard hold a lot of cards that could certainly force his hand. Like telling him if he wants to contend to be the starting QB next year, rehab is required. JFF needed to become a starter here for the betterment of his career. It would be a career choice he would have a tough time refusing. So physically force him? No. Apply a great deal of pressure using his future as a trump card? Most definitely. Gordon has far more serious offenses, yet he skipped out of rehab after what? Two weeks? LOL I agree with you completely. I can only say sometimes you reflect and see the mistakes you've made. When given the opportunity, you do things different next time. Bro..............I am so sick of this dumpster fire. I'm not kidding.........I think I am done w/them. I certainly understand your frustration Bud.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

what sucks is that once again we are arguing over who we should've drafted instead of the guy we got.
every single year.

every single year. Honestly, it's not poor drafting. No one is going to thrive in the environment in Berea. No draft pick. No QB. Do you really believe Teddy would be playing well here? Or do you believe the fans think Teddy would be playing well here? You would have media and fans calling for the back up with Teddy here. That's the way things work when there is dysfunction and incompetence. It's infected Berea and I don't think there's a cure.

Has anyone heard about the fan named "Bill" who I think called into 92.3 and broke down? Does anyone have the audio of that?
I'd like to hear it. They should play it for the entire team and coaching staff. Maybe then Pettine will shove his scheme up his you know what. What a dipwad.

he was our last best chance and now? NOTHING That's assuming he was really our best chance in the first place. I don't believe we had enough evidence either way to say one way or the other about that. youngest one with the most upside on our roster this year....

No, it's not drafting, says the expert who thinks a guy who gets hit on almost every play lacks guts.
You are out of your freaking mind.
Fire Pet. Keep Farmer.
Right now, I actually hope they do because I hope this fricking franchise sucks for another 10 years.
Screw them!

I don't care if he gets drunk on his bye week. Maybe the rest of the team should drink on Sundays, they can't play much worse.

If McCown doesn't put points on the board, next Monday night could get ugly because I know Browns fans want JM to play, to see what he can do. Pettine is about to get booed out of Cleveland.

Johnny Manziel timeline with Cleveland Browns Mike Pettine's decision to take the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback job from Johnny Manziel came because of a series of off-field missteps by the second-year quarterback, which culminated with the most recent video of him holding what appears to be a pink champagne bottle at a club in Austin, Texas. Here's a look at Manziel's time with the Browns, going back to the draft: Feb. 14, 2014 -- Before the draft, Manziel said many things about Johnny Football being gone and taking his job seriously. May 9 -- Manziel texted the Browns during the draft and urged the team to take him so they could “wreck this league” together. After being taken 22nd overall, Manziel did his money sign as he walked on stage. May 10 -- After the draft, Manziel partied the night away with magnums of champagne and celebrities. May 26 -- Manziel appeared in several online photos in Vegas during a down time in the team's offseason work. June 10 -- The infamous photo was taken of him on the floating swan with a bottle of champagne. June 16 -- The “money phone” video appeared. June 27 -- At the rookie symposium, Manziel spoke with the media and said he would not change his life for anybody. July 4 -- A photo of Manziel rolling money into a small tube in a Vegas bathroom appeared. July 25 -- The Browns admit they were “alarmed” by some of Manziel’s behavior. July 26 -- The Browns called Manziel in the day before training camp and spoke pointedly to him about his off-field habits. Owner Jimmy Haslam said the team “expects better from him.” Aug. 14 -- Manziel was late for a training camp meeting, saying he “misread the schedule.” Aug. 18 -- Manziel extended his middle finger to the Redskins' bench in a nationally televised game, for which he was fined $12,500. Aug. 20 -- Brian Hoyer was named the starter and Manziel admitted to not being ready. Nov. 22 -- There was a lobby incident/fight between Manziel, a friend and a fan Manziel described as aggressive and intoxicated. The Browns expressed disappointment at the timing of the incident, at 2:36 a.m. the morning the team was flying to Atlanta for a game. Dec. 1 -- Manziel replaces Hoyer in Buffalo and runs for a touchdown to end his first drive. Dec. 12 -- Yahoo! posts a story detailing the crazed lifestyle Manziel had in college, and how he went from being a college player "to Elvis." Dec. 14 -- Manziel started his first game against Cincinnati and threw for 80 yards as the Browns lost 30-0. Dec. 21 -- Manziel pulls his hamstring and leaves the game just before halftime in Carolina. Dec. 23 -- Manziel says he intends to take his job more seriously, that “it’s a job for me now.” Dec. 27 -- Manziel did not show up for a team walk-through and treatment, with Browns security going to his home to find him. He later admitted to being out the night before. Dec. 29 -- Manziel says he can't say anything more to prove himself, that he has to put his words into action. The team agrees. Dec. 30 -- The Instagram video appeared with Manziel wishing LeBron James happy birthday. Jan. 16, 2015 — Manziel and Josh Gordon spend time in Aspen, Colo. Jan. 23 — ESPN.com story appears chronicling Manziel’s rocky rookie season. Jan. 28 — Manziel enters treatment at the Caron Center outside Reading, Pa. April 11 — Manziel leaves treatment after an extended 10-week stay. June 1 -- Manziel throws a water bottle at a badgering fan at the AT&T Byron Nelson golf tournament in an incident that was dismissed as "fairly straightforward" by a police spokesman in Irving, Texas. June 17 — Manziel meets media for the first time, promises to junk the signature “money sign” and says he will do all he can to tamp down the off-field hype. Aug. 13, 20 -- Manziel has a running and passing TD in each of the first two preseasons games. Aug. 23 — Manziel leaves practice with elbow soreness. He would miss the final two preseason games. Sept. 13 — Manziel takes over after Josh McCown leaves the opener with a concussion and has poor results. Sept. 20 — With McCown out, Manziel throws two long TD passes to Travis Benjamin in the Browns' first win of the season. Sept. 27 — McCown returns to the starting lineup against Oakland. Oct. 12 — Manziel is questioned by police after witnesses called reporting he had been driving dangerously on the shoulder. He parks his car in Avon, where his girlfriend tells a witness he had been beating her. Manziel admits to drinking downtown during the day. No charges were filed and the couple was allowed to leave together. Nov. 5 — Manziel starts for an injured McCown in Cincinnati and struggles in a 31-10 loss. Nov. 7 — Manziel is honorary captain at Texas A&M and parties that night in College Station. Photos appear on social media early the following week. Nov. 15 — Manziel starts in Pittsburgh and plays well, throwing for 372 yards in a 30-9 loss. Nov. 17 — Mike Pettine names Manziel the starter for the rest of the season. In doing so, he tells Manziel he has to live up to the responsibility. Manziel promises he will do nothing the bye week to embarrass the team or the organization. Later that day, the NFL announces Manziel will not be disciplined for the Oct. 12 incident under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy. Nov. 23 — A video appears online on bustedcoverage.com and TMZ.com showing Manziel singing a hip hop song while holding a bottle that appears to be pink champagne at an Austin, Texas, club. Other photos appear from his Thursday and Friday evenings in Austin. Nov. 24 — Pettine expresses his disappointment and frustration with Manziel’s actions, then announces he has lost the starting job. Pettine says McCown will start Monday night against Baltimore. Manziel is made the team’s third quarterback. http://espn.go.com/blog/cleveland-browns...leveland-browns

if this ship is going down, i want it to be glorious. Doubt it will happen. Pettine (if he knows he is gone) isn't going to act like a jackass (like Manziel did) because he doesn't want that to hold him back from getting a coordinator position (or some other coaching job) in the NFL. Johnny had his chance. All he had to do (and verbally agreed to) was not do something that would embarrass the franchise. Guess what? He went out AGAIN and acted like a child. Sorry, but this one (after MANY other issues) is on Johnny. I wouldn't have benched him. I would have cut his ass. He is nothing more than a sorry distraction in Berea. The Browns have enough problems. Get rid of this circus side show. Farmer and Pettine can go too. Neither have a clue on how to handle their respective jobs in the NFL. Hoping Haslam gets it right this time.
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Holding a pink champagne bottle during a bye week. He deserves the electric chair. I am just wondering............why is it okay for Pet to drink, but not for Johnny to drink? Why can Joe T drink, but not Johnny? Why can Haden party his butt off, but Johnny can't? The Clowns suck!

i'm trying to figure out how you can punish a guy for doing something like this.
didn't he check himself into rehab, nobody on the team forced him?
and the guy didn't get arrested, he's not on the substance abuse program in the league.
going off this logic, Pettine should've been fired the moment his daughter made those dumb tweets.

He acted like a child because he held a champagne bottle? Last I checked, alcohol was legal. Am I mistaken?
Oh, and last time I checked, children were not permitted to drink alcohol.

Wow. Good point.
Everyone seemed to have loved Bernie. He was the biggest freaking drunk in the NFL.
Remember the QB challenges they used to show? Bernie competed while he was absolutely wasted. Great PR, Bern.......
Look, I am not bashing Bernie for that..........just pointing out the hypocrisy.

I am so mad! What kills me is that I don't even really like Manziel all that much. What bothers me is the principal of it all. It's freaking unfair! Hypocritical and biased!

wait.
i think you and i have two different opinions on what being a distraction is.
a guy going out and partying without getting into trouble isn't being a distraction.
a guy going out and partying while committing disorderly conduct, or sexual harassing a female is being a distraction.
the guy basically got in trouble for having a good time and somebody putting it up on social media.

Everyone keeps talking about his off the field actions this weekend. But the only thing he appears to have done is have his picture taken holding a champagne bottle. I just feel like our FO is putting personal ego and agendas ahead of what is better for the team, long term.

What gets me .. Is that Pet has been praising him for all his effort on the field, making such large improvements and working hard inside the building..
So throw it all away because the video shows him dancing and laughing ? SMH People aren't just given giant bottles of alcohol for show. And if Manziel wasn't drinking, as you are alleging, then he is even dumber than we thought.

There are people who agree with the move. There are people who disagree with the move. And so goes the circus in Berea. Maybe freaking management should worry more about texting the sidelines during games? Perhaps they should be worried about the distraction of talking about trading their best players during the season? Perhaps management should be concerned w/running off the best coach on the staff due to their meddling? Perhaps management should be more concerned w/blowing a crap-load of high draft picks in their first two years? Perhaps management should have kept their younger talent and not have replaced them w/old guys? Perhaps management should have treated Gipson fairly and not given Bowe way more money than Gipson wanted? Perhaps freaking management should not make dumb-ass comments like turning a 6th round qb who can't throw from Auburn into revolutionizing the game? Perhaps management should not raise season ticket prices by as much as up to 40 per cent when their team sucks? Perhaps management should be more concerned w/their own ineptness than a 22 year old guy having some freaking drinks during a FREAKING BYE WEEK????
