92.3 The Fan Caller Breaks Down in Tears Talking About Johnny Manziel's Partying

http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-hear...nziels-partying

I listened to that yesterday. He got emotional because his team is screwed up by this. He wasn't crying because he is such a big Johnny fan. He just hates that the Browns are in this mess. He wants good things for his team.

It sounded like he was anti-Manziel, but yeah, in general you could feel his exasperation after nearly two decades of losing and being a laughingstock.

It sucks we get that emotionally invested in teams and players that could give two craps about us.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I wonder why the players union doesn't comment on this.
Seems like an area they could get involved in.

Actually I don't believe it is. JFF was not suspended. JFF did not lose any salary over this. I don't believe the NFLPA has any say in who gets on the field and who doesn't.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Boy, that would be a slippery slope if players were allowed to file grievances over playing time.

I agree. The guy went to a club. So what??? I was a supporter of Pet, but this is crap.

It seems the coach and front office are more interested in team image then they are in winning football games.

If these clowns are worried about their image, perhaps they should look in the freaking mirror.

Texting the sidelines. Sitting in on coaching meetings. Terrible defense. Stupid personnel decisions. Players not wanting to play here. Snubbing a pro bowler and giving money to old pieces of crap players. Firing almost everyone after just one year.

Yeah, Johnny is the problem! rolleyes

Yeah as think Johnny will be going after 2015. Wearing out his welcome. It will be the least watched MNF game in history in the forty-five to forty-six years of the show.

Well the more this settles in...Possibly this was done for the benefit of Manziel. If we didn't give a crap about HIM...we would let him take the path that we are trying to change him on. Like Joe Thomas said there is more to this than we all know. The players are supporting the coaches decision not out of favoritism to McCown or anything. Cause they want Manziel to be the QB he can be.

Image matters.

Let me tell you a quick story. I had a "friend" in high school - as in, we played football together. He's 2 years older than me. Fast forward to about 5 years ago. Our wives became good friends, which led to us hanging out some weekends. Now, in the mean time, he became the CEO of a $200 million plus (revenue) business.

I've known him since I was 16. It took him quite a few dinners out, us going there, them coming here, etc, before he'd have more than a beer, maybe 2 when we were together. Image.

After he realized we were friends, he opened up a lot. Not just with drinking - I still haven't seen him drunk. But with talking about life. He's come to realize "Arch isn't going to make me look bad. I can talk to him - about this, that, money, guns, etc", and Arch isn't going to go blab and make me look good or bad. He isn't going to talk bad about me or be envious of my financial situation.

Image. It matters, not just in football. JMO

Actually, they can and this has become more prevalent with social media. If you do - or post something that the company considers to be outside of their code of conduct, you can be fired.

besides that, before you hire someone, do a FB or Twitter or Instagram peek on the applicants and you'll find some astonishing stuff...including berating their current employer. I don't remember the exact wording but it is along the lines of any action that you do that brings negative publicity to the company and is was petty general.

Not saying it's right but that seems to be the way things are going.

Exactly, many educators have lost their jobs for use of social media and posting things deemed unprofessional etc, by district administration. Educators are "advised" not to even have facebook, twitter, vine, instagram or other social media accounts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of those who have lost their jobs have done ILLEGAL things. Keyword. ILLEGAL. Or things deemed inappropriate. Even in this circumstance, going out and drinking is neither of those.

That's not the point. JM should have stayed in Cleveland during the bye and worked his butt off. It would have rewarded the team that just handed him the starting QB job. Optics can be important and that would have went a long way to impressing his coaches and teammates after all that has transpired since he was drafted.

I like him as much as almost anyone here, btw, but I gotta admit he screwed up big time.

If he would have claimed they hit a trigger point and hurt his feelings, they might have done something to fix it. It works for petulant college students.

Dang we are still debating Manziel? Lol... I've never ever, ever seen so much hysteria over benching of a kid who clearly is an off-field nightmare. If he played running back or TE like Gronk (since everyone wants to compare) then I don't see it an issue. Unfortunately we drafted him to play QB and he needs to be able to be relied upon at the most critical position of likely all sports, but for sure in the NFL.

He can't be trusted. He needs the party life. Bad stuff happens when he drinks, it's done it time and time again - yet he continues to do it. Hmmm. But yeah, let's throw up another eight pages of discussion of this immature little punk.

There is no mention of tonight's game on NFL.com headlines.
You know if JM was playing there would be at least three headlines about tonights game.

Just sayin

Guessing Bitonio (injury), Haden (injury), Hawkins (injury), Gabriel (injury), Starks (injury), and Gilbert (waste of roster spot) are out. Wouldn't that make Johnny active by default due to lack of players available?

I'm a little surprised by this, to be honest.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Reason johnny manziel is active is because LG joel Bitonio is not. manziel is the last healthy player left to fill out 46-player roster.

well you nailed that!!!!!

Done for his benefit? You mean like rehab was for his benefit? Like sitting out the last game last season was for his behefit? How many for his benefit incidents until Johnny is considered another idiot like Meathead is? I'm there man....
