I am not a huge college football guy, but how is Les Miles on the hot seat? It looks like he's going to get fired today. He has a career record of 110-32. Won't other schools be rushing to hire him?

Bama's win over LSU is looking worse and worse. Or you could just say that Bama beat the life out of LSU and started this slide... a 1 loss Bama team is in, a 2 loss Bama team should be out... I don't think it matters how that win "looks"..

He's lost to Alabama about 5 times in a row.... Even with all that he has accomplished, if Urban Meyer lost to Michigan 5 times in a row, he'd be on the hot seat... even if he went 10-2 or even 11-1 every one of those years.

He's a result of insane talent in the state of Louisiana. He gets exposed when facing equally talented teams because he's a moron.

being ranked 8th for OSU actually isn't too bad. there's still a chance.

Would be great to see them as a playoff contender. My thoughts are, force the remaining Independents into conferences and the winner of each conference gets a spot in the playoffs. If your weaker conference winners get pounded in the playoffs, that forces them to play a stronger SOS going forward and eventually forces the other teams of those conferences to do the same to keep up. If it were setup this way and if Navy gets the win over Houston, (which I believe is a strong possibility) Navy's in and has a shot to win it all. What's in it for us? More college football.

Don't look now UT Rocket fans, but Ohio's up on Northern Illinois by 10. A Bobcat win would put UT in the MAC championship game.

Can they leave us out and put a teams like Alabama and Oklahoma ahead of us? Bama lost to Ole Miss. OU lost to Texas. Both of those teams are far worse than Sparty. Btw---------------did anyone see freaking Mark May gloating after we lost. I wanna punch that punk in the mouth. They would have a chance to get back in. At this point OSU does not have any quality wins. Penn State being their best. But, if they were to get back to back wins over Michigan and an undefeated Iowa (If they beat Nebraska) will improve their resume. At this point it looks like Clemson is a lock if they win out. If they lose they still possibly could be in contention for a 4th seed with a team like OSU id your scenario played out. It would be their wins vs Florida State and Notre Dame against OSU wins against Michigan and Iowa. Although OSU's trump card would be a Big Ten Chamionship. Alabama is a lock if they win out. If they lose they are out without major chaos. Oklahoma looks like a lock in the 3rd seed if they beat Oklahoma State. Back to Back to Back wins over TCU, Baylor, and Ok State with a non conf road win at Tenn with a BIG 12 Chamionship. If they lose they will be out because OK State and/or Baylor will take their spot. Iowa or Michigan State are locks if either win out and claim a Big Ten Championship. Michigan State will have the best resume of anyone with wins over Oregon, OSU, Michigan, and Iowa. Iowa would be undefeated with wins over Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Michigan State. So if Clemson, Alabama, and Oklahoma wins out but Michigan State loses to Penn State and OSU then wins out it would come down to OSU and Notre Dame. If Stanford beats Notre Dame the OSU would be a lock. If Notre Dame beats Stanford it would be very interesting. Notre Dame would have quality wins over Stanford, Navy, and Temple. OSU would have quality wins over Michigan and Iowa + BIG TEB Championship. So there path is 1) Penn State must beat Michigan State or they are virtually eliminated. 2) Alabama loses to Auburn. If Florida was to beat both Florida State and Alabama and win the SEC they will definitely get in. If FSU beats Florida and the Florida beats Alabama then the SEC is eliminated. 3) They are chosen #4 over Notre Dame. I think the BIG 12 will get a team in this year. Oklahoma if they wins. Ok State or Baylor if they lose.

Toledo still somehow has a chance for an Access bowl. Navy needs to lose, we need to beat Western Michigan, and also crush BGSU in the MACC.
*fingers crossed*

Can they leave us out and put a teams like Alabama and Oklahoma ahead of us? Bama lost to Ole Miss. OU lost to Texas. Both of those teams are far worse than Sparty. In that scenario, yes, I think the Big10 gets left out. those losses are worse than losing to Sparty, but if Sparty loses to PSU then that loss looks worse. If you go by losses alone, OU losing to Texas is by far the worst loss, Bama losing to Ole Miss is a step worse than OSU losing to Sparty but losing to Ole Miss isn't like an embarrassing loss.. On the other side of the ledger, Alabama and Oklahoma are going to have more quality wins... It would be close, and it might not be fair, but there is a sense that the Big12 got left out last year.. so if it's close, it wouldn't surprise me if Oklahoma gets the nod for that reason alone. It is highly possible that there are going to be 4 or 5 good 1-loss teams for 2 spots (Assuming Clemson and Bama win out and are in)

honestly, I'm hoping FSU beats Florida and Florida beats Bama. Because I think it would be hilarious.
Ohio State is not getting in. At this point I'm rooting for whoever wins the Iowa / MSU game. And of course, rooting for the Buckeyes to make Harbaugh throw his headset and all his outerwear onto the turf in Ann Arbor.

Yes, and Michigan State lost to Nebraska, who lost to Purdue, Northwestern, Brigham Young, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Miami... then Michigan State beat Ohio State You have to be very careful in the if A lost to B and B lost to C and C lost to D... the farther you get from the actual head to head, the easier it is to just muddy the waters.. I'm not anti-OSU, I don't particularly like them, but looking at it logically, if they beat Michigan and get a shot at, and beat, Iowa, I think they deserve to be in the discussion... it will depend on what else happens. I think the fact that they are the defending champions should be a very small impact in their favor. All else being equal, if it's that close, I think they should get a shot to defend their championship. Without them getting a shot at Iowa, I think their prospects are pretty slim.

I think the fact that they are the defending champions should be a very small impact in their favor. All else being equal, if it's that close, I think they should get a shot to defend their championship. Without them getting a shot at Iowa, I think their prospects are pretty slim. The biggest problem with the committee selecting is what is the actual criteria? There are no defined criteria that says do this and you are in. What we do know is how last seasons teams were selected and using that logic is the only criteria we can go by that could possibly forecast who gets in this year. What was the criteria that seemed to finalize last seasons final four. 1 - Conference Championship Game winners. Alabama (SEC), Oregon (PAC 12), Florida State (ACC), and Ohio State (BIG 10). 2 - Eye Test. The impressive 59-0 win by Ohio State seemed to propel them over TCU and Baylor. Florida State was dropped to 3rd even though they were undefeated because of so many close games. 3 - Good wins. Ohio State seemed out of the playoff picture until they beat Mich State and then rose from double digits to top 7. Alabama rose to #1 when they beat then undefeated Miss State. What did the committee seem to not value. 1 - Bad losses. Virginia Tech was a bad loss. A 6-6 team beat OSU at OSU. TCU's only loss was to #6 Baylor. So looking at that criteria what does that say about this year. Clemson is in if they win out with an ACC Championship. If they lose 1 game it must be to South Carolina. They need the ACC Championship to still be considered for the final 4. Undefeated. Big wins vs Notre Dame and Florida State Alabama is in if they win out with a SEC Championship. Big Wins vs Miss State, LSU (Undefeated win game was played) Oklahoma if the win out will have 3 Straight big wins over Baylor, TCU, and OK State should get them in but not having a conf championship game still leaves some question marks. Iowa is in if they win out with a Big Ten Championship. Also undefeated. Michigan State is in if they win out with a Big Ten Championship. Best key wins in the Country Oregon, OSU, Iowa. Notre Dame needs to be impressive with a win over Stanford to over take Oklahoma or Ok State/Baylor for the 4th spot. Baylor needs to be impressive with a win over TCU and an Oklahoma loss to be considered for the 4th spot. Big wins vs Ok State and TCU. Ohio State needs Mich State to lose to be considered. Then look impressive in Big wins vs Michigan and Iowa with a Big Ten Championship for the 4th spot. This scenario would be interesting because assuming Clemson and Alabama are locks winning out. If Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame win out only 2 of the 3 gets in. Would make for an epic selection show. Stanford needs chaos for a 2 loss team to make the final 4. Michigan needs chaos for a 2 loss team to make the final 4. Oklahoma State needs to look impressive in a big win over Oklahoma to be considered for the 4th spot. Big wins vs TCU and Oklahoma. Florida needs to look impressive in big wins vs Florida State and Alabama with an SEC Championship. Florida State has no chance since they did not qualify for their conf championship game. North Carolina needs to look impressive in a big win vs Clemson with an ACC Championship and then probably a Michigan to win the Big Ten or Florida to lose to Florida State and then beat Alabama to get in because of strength of schedule with 2 wins vs FCS Schools. No team below North Carolina has a shot.

This Iowa vs Nebraska is a huge game in the Big Ten.
Iowa needs to be an undefeated Big Ten Champion to get in the Playoff more than likely. Best wins are Northwestern and Wisconsin.
Michigan State does not need Iowa to be undefeated to get in with the best resume of the 1 loss teams. Wins over Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State in their pocket so far.
Ohio State might need a win vs an undefeated Iowa if Penn State beats Mich State. It could possibly come down to Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma for the last 2 spots where 2 of the 3 get in and 1 left out. With Big wins vs Michigan and an undefeated Iowa would look better than a 1 loss Iowa.
Michigan also could use a win over an undefeated Iowa if chaos plays out this weekend and some of the lock teams like Mich State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson lose. Could come down to Michigan or Stanford for the last spot.
So this game could be very pivotal.

Nebraska can't beat Iowa IMO
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Baylor and TCU playing football on a wet sloppy field. Should be fun. That PF killed TCU after the good pick in the end zone - Baylor ended up scoring and there was zero need to hit the QB..the ball was way gone.

This game is what hockey would look like if the ice was melting and the object was to cross the goal line instead of beating the goalie to the net.

It's Bedlam tonight in Oklahoma. #3 Sooners vs. #11 Cowboys.
The game is being played in Stillwater, home of the OSU Cowboys and scene of a senseless and tragic event during their homecoming parade on 10/24. A 25 year old women at 10:30 in the morning drove past police barricades and plowed her car into the crowd just watching the parade go by. Even though she was originally charged with DUI she was not drunk or impaired by drugs. She killed 4 people and injured 44 others.
The weather will be cold (mid 30's), wet (it's been raining for 2 days) and very windy (mph mid 20's with gusts in the 30's). Should be a very good game. It's on ABC here, not sure if it's national or not.
